  Audio Sync Problem with QAM
Posted by: Warrenpettit - 2008-01-18, 01:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I am running PVRX2 1.1.5 and I have an hvr-1600. I was having terrible audio sync problems with OTA HD recordings until someone recommended to not use the default audio renderer. I did still have the default for Video decoder and Audio decoder. Now, I have hooked up my cable using QAM. I recorded a non-hd format show and when I play it back, I once again have an audio sync problem. I have tried all of the entries in the audio renderer list but they all have the same problem. I recored the same channel using WMC and when I play it back, I do not have the sync problem.

I have an older machine which has a PVR-250 installed and is running GB-PVR 0.99.12. I recorded the very same show on this system and audio playback is great. Interestingly, all of my Video decoder, Audio decoder, and Audio rendered options are set to system default.

PVR remote control blocked by ZoneAlarm 7
Posted by: rnslucas - 2008-01-18, 12:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Firstly, I'm still using GBPVR v0.96.12 with a Hauppauge 350! Yes, I know it's not supported, but I can't afford a new card yet, and the time to totally reconfigure my computer!

I've upgraded my Zone Alarm anti-virus/firewall, and now GBPVR won't reach the remote control. Here's the error message from gbpvr.exe.log:

The program GBPVR.exe has 'Super' access but this does not help. I've given 'Super' access to all other relevant programs.

I can locate relevant .ini and .dll files, but can't find a way of telling Zone Alarm, that they are allowed.

The remote works fine with another TV program, and works fine through GBPVR when ZoneAlarm is turned off.

Does anyone perhaps have an answer (before I roll back my Zone Alarm)?

  Mp3 Problems
Posted by: R1Dave - 2008-01-18, 10:11 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Has anybody else had problems streaming MP3 to an MVP? I've been using the software for about 6 months now and I've managed to get everything else reasonably stable but playing music is hopeless. at random places, normally during the first couple of tracks I play, the MVP just restarts. I've tried both the standard music library and MusicLibrary2 - both have the same problem so I think its MP3's in general. Could any of the Audio settings be a problem (e.g. Audio Renderer)? I can't think what else to try. I love the software but this problem is driving me mad !

I'm using V1.1.5 but I was previously using 1.0.16 with the same problem.

Logs and Config.XML attached. Any help would be gratefully received !

Thanks

Dave.

Considering GBPVR for Use With Hauppauge HVR-1600 - Some Questions
Posted by: Greg Smith - 2008-01-18, 05:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I'm thinking of switching to GBPVR and using it with my Hauppauge HVR-1600. WinTV installs Hauppauge's HCW video and audio decoders which result in store-bought DVDs not playing anymore in Windows Media Player and no sound on DVDs created with the HVR-1600. So, my days as a WinTV user will soon come to an end.

Now for my GBPVR questions. Can it be tweaked to allow a 4 mbps bitrate for recording? I can't seem to get it to 4 in WinTV. Also, I was testing out GBPVR a few days ago, and noticed that the file that was created was out-of-synch despite being run through VideoRedo TVSuite. Is there a fix for this? Also, is there a way for programs to have closed captions appear during live TV as well as on the finished DVD? I do like the fact that no decoders are installed with your software, and that is one of the biggest reasons I will switch to GBPVR.

Posted by: agidius - 2008-01-18, 03:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I just got a 2nd HVR1600 to put on the roof antenna.
during the scan I only get 3 channels, when I know there should be more than a dozen.
my TV can pick up many more.

it found channel 26,39,and 55.
there should be more at 2,8,11,13,14,20,and 22
(I am leaving out the decimals)

what can I do??

Is there any support for saa7134 chipset?
Posted by: bspurloc - 2008-01-18, 01:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I see other software supports this card which im pretty sure doesnt have an mpeg decoder on it so was wondering if there is any support here for it. All the others are really junky software to this one which I use with my conexant blackbird and hauppauge dual tuner card with ease.
Thanks

DVD Ripper X2 can't rip to iso?
Posted by: CannedBass - 2008-01-18, 12:03 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi all,
I'm trying out gbpvr after giving up on linux media center edition because of too many frustrations with linux. I really like the program so far, but I'm having a bit of a problem with the dvd ripper plugin for pvrx2. It seems that no matter whether you select file or iso when ripping, it always rips to a file. I took a quick peek at the source code posted in the wiki, and it looks like the /FILE option is hard-coded in there and it doesn't even look at what the user selects. The 0.9.x version of the plugin seems to work as expected.

I realize the plugin isn't supported, but I was kind of hoping whoever wrote it is still around here. It looks like it would be an easy fix, but I don't have a compiler to work on it.

If that's not an option, is there a newer plugin that will do the same thing? I looked at the video archive plugin, but it looks like all that will do is convert it to an mpeg file. I'd rather just rip the dvd as an image.

Unfortunately I'm a bit snowed under with my day job at the moment, working to a hard deadline, so not quite managing to find enough hours in the day to keep on top of everything that is posted - so appologies if I've not responded to your questions.

I'm am still reading everything, and trying to respond, but if I have to go off an investigate things to answer your question then there is a good chance I'm not going to respond. I'm trying to avoid these types of distractions for now.

Everything should be back to normal in a few weeks.

cheers

  SAP problem with recordings
Posted by: Alareth - 2008-01-17, 10:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hello, I'm new to all this and just picked up an HVR-1600 a few days ago.

I'm using it just for ATSC OTA at the moment and everything seemed to be working fine until it did it's first timed recording using GB-PVR.

When I play back the recording, I'm getting English from my left speaker and Spanish from the right.

I looked through all the tabs in config and couldn't find anything related to SAP broadcasts.

HVR-1300 stops resume from hibernation - now what do I do?
Posted by: PhilTheDoc - 2008-01-17, 10:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Take out the HVR-1300, remove all drivers - the machine works fine (no remote and no composite capture but hey...). Put it back - the machine often won't recover from hibernation (blank screen/freeze at the end of the progress bar).

What can I do? Upgrade to Vista? Get a PVR150 (is mpeg capture and the IR hardware any different?)? Try different drivers? (I used the latest) Leave it on 24/7 and melt the North Pole? What? I'm stuck.
