I know this is probably a very simple answer but I am new here so please have pity on me. I recently purchased a Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner and was disappointed that it would not lock in my QAM channels from Comcast even when signal strength was high using WinTV v6. Very frustrating indeed!! I read somewhere on-line that GBPVR would read these even when WinTV would not. Well, it did and I am in the process of figuring out the rest of the GBPVR software.
Now, my problem. I have setup (3) capture devices (analog tuner, QAM digital tuner, and an external composite input) all that come from the HVR1600. When I attempt to either watch or record, I can only get the analog tuner channels and I can't figure out how to switch to my other devices no matter how much I searched. Help!
3 capture sources - 1) bda, 2) cable, 3) bda - in that order.
watch channel available on all chooses source 3 as i would expect, then select a channel only available on source 2, then switch back to initial channel and remains using capture source 2...
attached logs - despite my large number of posts meaning i am senior member, i really signifies i post a lot of questions
many thanks!
ps. channel sequence for logs was 101 (from guide), 110, 101..
 I just started with this thing a bit before Christmas and I still feel like a complete newbie who doesn't know GBPVR from PVRX2, MVP from mvpmc or a mux from a transcoder. Can I get myself demoted please ?
So I wanted to get some input from you all on this. Basically I have replaced my Hauppauge remote with a logitech all in one. Can I use my old hauppauge remote in a different room with a different ir reciever?
What does PVRX2 do with plugins when it exits? I've had situation when I've exited PVRX2 with my DVB-T radio plugin still playing music. The external exe doesn't get shutdown by PVRX2 (obviously) so carries on merrily producing an ever-growing mp3 buffer file.
I've tried adding a destructor to the plugin but it doesn't seem to be working - it's either not being called or the cleanup isn't being given time to complete.
What's the best way to cleanup this sort of thing?
I just started playing with the remote mgt website and am having a bit of a problem. The photo and music libraries are empty... yet they're perfectly fine when I access them from the television.
I map drives to another machine, which houses the music and pics. The mapping is done from a .bat file in the Startup group. From memory, it's something like what's below. In gbpvr config I just point to z: & y: for music and picture library.
net use z: \\ws1\pics
net use y: \\ws1\mp3
The only thing I can think of that may be a problem is that whatever webserver is being used is starting before the .bat file maps the drives. I tried restarting the recording service after the drives were mapped but it made no difference.
I am very new to this so this may be a stupid error on my part. I am running gbpvr 1.1.5. Gamezone is the first plug in that I have tried to install. I have installed the gamezonesetup.exe v10 and also placed the gamezone.dll v14 in to the plugins folder of my gbpvr folder. It seems like it has installed correctly and there is a gamezone folder in my gbpvr folder but it doesn't show up in the config or the gbpvr. Again I am very knew so I may have over looked something. Help!
I tried to use search for a phrase "channel listing by number" and instead it found all the instances of the words "channel, listing, and number".
That's a lot of reading about stuff I am not interested in at the moment, and an inefficient use of forum resources!
Can the search function be upgraded? I believe it would tremendously help both users and experts (no need to ask and answer same question over and over).
FSE mode seems to solve lots of peoples nasty video tearing and stuttering problems but it also causes lots of new problems. There's the resume problem, the "Sorry your system doesn't support the required renderer" problem, the squiggly patterns on exit problem to name but a few...
To be fair, lots of effort has gone into these problems one by one but I was wondering if there was an easier way.
Is it possible, for example, to render the menus in VMR9, then to switch to FSE only to play the videos, then back again as soon as possible..? I'm thinking that would fix all the FSE problems I get in one hit...
Is that possible..? Having written this, I'm thinking that it would require an unusual level of flexibility from Windoze, but you never know...
