I know this isn't really the right forum for this question, but I respect the opinions on this board. Please delete or move this posting if it's inappropriate.
I recently upgraded my main PC to an ECS NFORCE7050, AMD 6000+, and 2 GB 800 MHz RAM (Fry's Special) w/ XP Pro. I'm currently using onboard video which is fine for HD playback, but was thinking of getting Call of Duty 4 and the recommended graphics card is an ATI x1800 or higher.
I'm looking at the price of an x1800 but noticed the hd2600/hd2800 are considerably more affordable. Is this the next generation of video card (superceeding the x1XXX) series? Or is it really just designed for HD playback as a parallel product line and not for gaming?
I've been looking at the specs on the ATI website between the two and of course, they don't really match up (GPU Specifications). Does anybody have any insight/opinions on these cards?
I know I said I wouldn't bother you for a while, sorry.
When I stream live TV to remote computer everything works fine until I change channel from remote computer. Channel changes after about 4 secs and then the App freezes on remote computer and source computer needs rebooting as well or recordings fail.
In keeping with your last solution Audio Renderer is set to system default.
I am currently experiencing a weird issue. I now have an htpc hooked up to an LCD HDTV via a DVI-HDMI cable from a nvidia 7600GS graphics card. I have also experienced this while hooked up using the nvidia 7050PV onboard video via HDMI. This has not been an issue when I used the analog VGA connector from the onboard video (havent checked with the 7600GS but i assume its a digital only problem).
succinctly, if i turn off my HDTV for an extended period of time (say 20m or more) when i turn it back on the digital signal from the htpc graphics card has stopped. the computer is not sleeping and i have the power settings set to never turn the monitor off. The only way to fix the problem is to restart the computer.
upon searching google i see that i am not alone in this problem, though no one has come up with a good answer. im hoping someone here has a suggestion or two because this is pretty annoying.
I've been searching the forums and can't seem to find the answer to my issue: I am running 1.1.5 with a PVR-350. I want to keep the computer in another room and run just the 350's output and the IR cable to the living room (no monitor, keyboard or mouse). If possible, I would like to put the computer into Standby when not in use but I need to wake the computer with just the remote (as the keyboard and mouse will me kept in the basement). Is there a way to force it wake on an IR signal? The system does wake properly to DL a new EPG or capture a scheduled recording.
Feel free to direct me to another thread if I missed it in my searching...
On a side note, this is my first exposure to a DIY PVR and I am very impressed not only with the software and numerous helpful plugins but also with the expansive member community. I want to give a special thanks to sub for the diligent effort to this community. I can see your hand everywhere around here and it's much appreciated!
First of all let me just say that GBPVR truly rocks. Many thanks to everyone involved with this project. My question (for today anyway) is this..has anyone figured out how to play flac files through MVP? I can play flac in GBPVR on my pc with no problem. I am using GBPVR 1.1.5 and the MVPMC dongle.bin dated 12.28.07. I can play the flac files through MVP if i change the file extension to .fla however this would take an exceedingly large amount of time to go through and change all of these extensions as well as the playlists for all of them since the playlists are using the .flac extension. If i can accomplish this task i will be more than satisfied with my setup (at least for now lol). By the way i have tried MusicLibrary2 and while i can see that a lot of work has gone into this i prefer the standard option. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.
I need a plugin or anything that can show me the tvguide??
i DON'T have a tvcart in the computer, and i don't what one at the time.
Its it poseble for me to se the tv guide anyhow??
I would like to be able to group/flag recordings depending on their target audience.
I do a lot of recordings for the kids and it would be good if the recording list would group them so that it is easier to see what the wife and I hadn't watched rather than scrolling through all their rubbish!!
If the record dialog had the option to specify the target group somewhere near the "keep number of recordings" option, and the recording list had the groups available on the left, this would be ideal. OTherwise, a separate main menu entry for each group would be good, i.e. "Recordings - Kids" and "Recordings - Adults".
Please excuse me if this has already been suggested or is available with some hidden magic.

Hi Sub,
Would be nice if GBPVR prevents playback of empty files (happens due to lack of disk space). MVP crashes on playback. This bug is around for long time.
