I got a WinTV Nova-T-Stick DVB-T tuner and I can see it in the BDA.ini "list" but in GB-PVR Capture sources I cant find it.
Am i doing something wrong?
Drivers for the stick are installed.
Allready got a Hauppauge PVR500 dual card installed.
This would be nice, if we could have 2 columns, since we don't have a page down feature. The animation is nice, but let's face it, most of us spend very little time on the main menu, and most of our time in the actual sections. (Live TV, Recordings, Movie Wiz, Cinema, Music Library... etc.)
Again not exactly sure where to post this, but I've put together a few background images and a new set of task images. On McBainUk's suggestion they were done with the community skin in mind, but I thought I'd post them here for anyone who wants em'.
In the zip are a few backgrounds, the task images, a background mask and an edited mainmenus skin (basically to raise the task images alpha level). There is also a tvguide skin, to use it just copy the guide_mask.png into whatever _CoreImages folder you use. The only thing I will say is that I'm no code monkey so the edited xml files might be a little rough, they're kind of as is.
This is the first time I've ever done anything like this and I'm a complete amateur so any comments or suggestions would be great.
I am experiencing many errors relating to overnight conversions. Firstly I don't do any conversions at any time, and as far as I know its's not set up to do any automatically.
I have seen these errors before but not this many and have made no changes recently other than to update the Hauppauge drivers which seems to have solvedd (or certainly reduced) this problem: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28706 that I was getting if I watched live TV.
Logs are attached, I'm hoping I might just need to turn something off somewhere to stop it attempting to do whatever conversion it's trying to do.
The main errors appear in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-1.log.

I did try a search but all the significant 'words' in the error get rejected as being too long!
Thanks in advance for all and any help.
I recently installed HVR-1600 and done setting it up for QAM (I think), and have a number of unresolved issues for which I need help.
1. Does version 1.1.5 require extra patch for HVR-1600? There seems to be several dll files that need to be updated, or not?
2. What is the necessary signal strength to watch a clear QAM channel? Using the WinTV Digital Signal Strength Indicator, I get around 31dB. Is this sufficient, or weak to cause other types of problems?
3. On a few channels I see green bars on top of the screen, which apparently looks like noise from corrupted digital signal. Does this have something to do with the not-good-enough signal, the faulty tuner, or something else?
4. When tuning a QAM channel by selecting it from TV Guide, GBPVR always tells me no signal is detected, showing 0% quality and 100% strength. Then it takes about 2~3 seconds for the quality to increase (to about 80%) and tune that channel. When changing channels from one to the other by using arrow keys, there is no delay. What can be the cause? Signal strength, or the driver?
5. My system (2GHz dual core, 2GB RAM, NVidia 6150 On-board graphic) doesn't seem to render HD channels smoothly, looking a bit choppy. Strangely, CPU usage remains very low below 20%. How can that happen? Does this mean the on-board graphic is the weak link? If so, can ATI eXpress 1250 on-board graphic chip (AMD 690G chip) handle HD channels without stuttering?
6. Any chance to tweak GBPVR just to watch TV without recording? Specifically when a channel is selected in the TV Guide, is it possible to directly tune that channel without showing a popup window? Will it be possible to change the font size and/or increase the number of rows (channels) in the TV Guide?
7. When closing PVRX2, sometimes the program exits but the screen is not refreshed, leaving the capture of blue theme on the screen. I'm using WMR9 Full Screen renderer. Can this be fixed somehow?
Ahhhh, a long list of questions....... I'll really appreciate any kind of advice.
I figured its best to move the issue I am having with UIStatic to its own thread.
I have tried so many different things as you are aware but still get the null reference issue. I have code that now works fine with all the image stuff in there as long as I remove the @Image composite statement from the skin, as soon as the @image statement is reinstated I get the error shown below.
Code in Activate() I have shown all the code so that you can see where the log messages are within the code.
Code:
Public Sub Activate() Implements IMenuTask.Activate
Logger.Verbose(Me.getName() + ": Activate()")
If Not initialized Then
skinHelper = New SkinHelper2(mSkinDirectory + "\skin.xml")
If skinHelper.checkCompositeImageDefined("ScreenName") Then
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: ScreenName Composite image is defined")
Dim parameters As New Hashtable()
parameters("@screenName") = Me.getName()
Me.screenNameElement = New GBPVR.Public.GBPVRUiElement("ScreenName", skinHelper.getPlacementRect("ScreenName"), skinHelper.getNamedImage("ScreenName", parameters))
Else
MsgBox("GameZone: ScreenName Composite image missing")
End If
NoOFFilesLabel = New WizUiLabel(skinHelper, "NoOFFilesLabel", "You Should never see this text", "NoOFFilesLabelImage")
ctlMgr.AddControl(NoOFFilesLabel)
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: control added = NoOFFilesLabel")
NoOFPagesFilesLabel = New WizUiLabel(skinHelper, "NoOFPagesFilesLabel", "You Should never see this text", "NoOFPagesFilesLabelImage")
ctlMgr.AddControl(NoOFPagesFilesLabel)
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: control added = NoOFPagesFilesLabel")
Dim args As New Hashtable()
args("@Text") = "Activate"
args("@Image") = Image.FromFile("c:\\gamezone.jpg")
If skinHelper.checkCompositeImageDefined("emulatorIcon") Then
Logger.Verbose("about to define emulatorIconStatic in activate")
emulatorIconStatic = New UiStatic(skinHelper, "emulatorIcon", args)
End If
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: Never gets here with @Image in the skin.xml file")
main = True
InitFileList()
If emulatorimage IsNot Nothing Then
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: emulatorimage is set")
End If
Dim captions As String() = DirectCast(menuButtons.ToArray(GetType(String)), String())
cmdButtonList = New WizUiButtonList(skinHelper, "ButtonList", captions)
ctlMgr.AddControl(cmdButtonList)
lstMyList1 = New WizUiList(skinHelper, "ListBox1", Me, Nothing)
lstMyList1.AllowMultipleSelections = False
lstMyList1.AutoPosition = True
ctlMgr.AddControl(lstMyList1)
clsGlobal.AppLaunched = False
Logger.Verbose("GameZone: Exiting Activate")
initialized = True
End If
setPopup(Nothing)
ctlMgr.setFocus(cmdButtonList)
Logger.Verbose(Me.getName() + ": Activate() complete.")
End Sub
Here is the logfile from the run where the @Image line insitu:

The log file below shows that it never gets to:
Code:

Any more ideas on what to try, I have checks on the Getrenderlist and needsRendering routines to make sure that emulatorIconStatic is not null.
I have tried:
Code:
Dim args As New Hashtable()
args("@Text") = ""
args("@Image") = ""
Code:
Dim args As New Hashtable()
args("@Text") = Nothing
args("@Image") = Nothing
I have tried setting up dual capture sources on the same card as I know I am supposed to be able to record and watch at the same time with this card. However, I cannot seem to record and watch at the same time. I get an error returned saying no tuners are available for this action.
Can anyone tell me how to set this up or point me in the right direction?
