I have an issue. I installed an HVR-1600 that I got today. I set it up by splitting the cable in my room, running one to the ATSC part, one to the analog part, and one to the PVR-500. Added it to the capture sources using the same EPG as the PVR-500. At this point I've only attempted to add the analog source.
I tune any channel with the 1600 and only get sound, no picture at all. I make the 500 be the tuner for live tv and it works fine.
The only weird thing I noticed is that when I check the box to "show only devices in this pc" I have two 500's (normal) and a 1600 and 1500-MCE.
Anyway, here are the logs, I deleted all the logs, loaded config, closed config, opened the tv guide went to channel 4 (KVOA), watched tv, then exited. I did this with both the 1600 and 500 for comparison's sake.
After I get analog working I'll move to attempting to make QAM work.
I have a Server/Client configuration with a Dvico Fusion DVB-T Plus card.
On the Server and Client, the BDA multiplexer is set to "DVR-MS".
There is no problem when I view a DVB-T station on the server, but on the Client I get a black screen for about 5 seconds, then GB-PVR exits without any error message.
I have attached the logs from the Server and Client.
Keep in mind that the GB-PVR on the Client has been re-installed over the top of an old installation that was connected to a different Server machine. I could not find a way to completely remove the old installation on the Client, I have a feeling that some old config files are still being picked up by the new installation.
Don't know what happened. I used to be able to Alt-Enter to toggle between full screen and window mode. Now I get (full screen) AND (full screen with the min/max/close). I can not figure out how to resize to a small window for viewing.
having a little trouble in skiptool that when I keep allocating bitmaps as local variables the memory and commit charge keeps growing until finally the memory drops back but the commit charge still stays very high. Any pointers about how one can cause .net to handle this more gracefully?
i thought i remembered reading about this awhile back but couldnt find it occasionally when screensaver is going when i press a button instead of screensaver turning off it goes faster. is there a fix for this?
Background:
For the past 5 years I have paid $13.25 for 60 channels then Comcast just flicked the switch and only broadcasts in HD (no notice nothing just a blue screen that says to call them up) and now I have to pay $30 month and $8 in rental fees. (and for some reason all of the HD boxes are backordered, you would think if they were going to switch over the folks that have HD TVs might want an HD box) so I am stuck using the hd to analog box.
I have two tuners in the computer ATI 550pro + Kworld plustv hd 115.
I just bought the Kworld tuner thinking that Comcast might broadcast a few channels in unencrypted QAM but it looks like the only things I can get is 60 really poor music channels.
Actual question:
Anyway the question is how do I get the cable box to work with my tuner? I would assume an IR blaster but I don’t believe that my tuner card supports an ir blaster, so would I have to buy a new tuner card? Thinking about returning the Kworld tuner and picking up a Hauppauge 1600, and tossing the ati 550 on ebay.
They give out cable cards free so are there any tuners that support them yet?
Okay yell at me if you like, but I've searched and can't seem to find any threads here in the forum about optionally turning off comskip for certain recordings? Not that I want to see commercials, but it hacks up certain PBS programs. Is there something I can modify in GB-PVR to allow this option?
Have just got GBPVR (1.1.5) up and running, plenty of tinkering to do, but it all seems to be up and running ok - can watch, record, playback etc. with no problem
However, I've also tried setting up a client on another pc, and have a problem with video playback of recoded shows. It is very jerky, will play ok for few seconds, then pause, then play again ok, then pause etc.
The files are MPEG2 files created by GBPVR, using the Cyberlink 5.0.0.1307 mux.
I can play them back fine on the same PC using WMP11 or VLC.
(Streamed TV is also an issue on the client- totally unusable, but I'll leave that issue for now)
OK, PC spec isn't great (it's mostly used by the kids), but I've not had any video issues before
I've had a few of recordings stop early in the past and it seemed from the timing to coincide with the recording on the other tuner stopping.
I hadn't had this issue with the current version until tonight.
This time however was slightly different. It seems that the recording stopped receiving data when the other tuners recording stopped but started to receive data again when the other tuner started a new recording a little later.
The difference may be due to the previous times not having the other tuner start a new recording during the affected recordings schedule.
During this the logs show nothing unexpected and signal checks carry on as normal and show adequate levels.
It seems to happen infrequently (can be weeks between incidents) and doesn't seem to matter which tuner stops. Tuner 1 can be affected by tuner 2 stopping and visa versa.
I have tried the ATI and Cyberlink muxes but it has happened with both.
I even tried setting one tuner as Hauppauge Nova-DT #1 DVB-T and the other Hauppauge Nova-T-500 DVB-T (2) which works fine but doesn't stop this problem.
I've attached recording service logs of the relevant time.
