I'm looking at building a new quiet small server and most small skinny mini-atx boxes / boards I've seen have one (or even no) PCI slots for my existing PVR150's. Those that do have PCI, do not look like they'd fit a standard (NON-low-profile) PVR150, let alone two.
So I thought how about lie them flat on a PCI riser card? Would need a special jig at the back of the box probably to support the connectors, now transverse to "normal" card directions...
Are PCI Riser cards OK for 2 x non-low-Profile PVR150's i.e. are there any issues with both cards on the same riser on the PCI Bus?
Anyone doing this ...hate to have to buy a USB box, not sure what I'd do with my PVR150's.
UncleJohnsBand: Corrected saved search time and date issue that was introduced in build 66.
UncleJohnsBand: Added Auto Record functionality that works just like the Auto-Search functionality except that it sets programmes found in the search to record.
Auto-Search Note: Reminders in GBPVR have been depreciated for now. This means that Auto-Search may not set your programme reminders. This does not impact the new Auto-Record functionality.
UncleJohnsBand: Update search results table view to include channel number in the channel column.
UncleJohnsBand: Corrected some general CSS issues.
Allow Search entry screen to scroll.
Correct shift of Manual Record button when server time displayed on Search screen.
Correct recording filter selection bar wrapping issue.
Correct search results displaying date format in short date format instead of long date format.
Correct sort issue on the Air Date in Search Results.
Correct button CSS display issue on Search page.
Correct button CSS display issue on Detail pop-up.
Correct IMDB icon not appearing on all programmes in Manage Recordings and Search Results.
UncleJohnsBand: Added streamer setting CSS based screen.
To acccess the Stream Settings CSS page go to Library2.aspx and click on the Stream Settings button.
UncleJohnsBand: Added CSS based player screen.
To acccess the CSS Player go to Library2.aspx and click on the Stream or Stream All button or click he Stream Now button from the Details2 popup.
CSS Note: Theme colors are for contrast only.....this is not an actual theme color scheme.
CSS Note: Please post feedback/bugs in the EWA CSS Guide sticky thread located in the EWA support forum.
CSS Note: Slowly but surely I am getting through these.....hopefully not too much longer until all screens are complete and I will create a real theme for the CSS interface.
I've had this problem for quite a while and am finally trying to solve it.
Whenever I have a "buffer" recording.. meaning I am watching something in timeshift mode and I choose to record it, then the Recording shows up "twice".. here's a screenshot to illustrate:
one of the recordings "Anderson Cooper 360" for instance, plays back the recording and the OSD has the proper show info. The other one is titled by the filename and has "(Manual Rec)" tacked on.. and the OSD just shows the .mpg filename and does not have any show info (if that helps diagnose the issue)..
also, see how the first Anderson Cooper show has a listed duration of 6 hours? That's super weird and makes me think that the software is seeing it as just an MPEG file without any program information...
anyone know what is going on here? It is extremely annoying since almost all my recordings are done this way and I end up with two of everything.
PVRX2 crashes when I try to do an EPG update from GBPVRTray. There is no problem with automatic updates or manual updates from config so I'm guessing its related to the tray app. I am running the latest version and have tried copying the backendcommon patch from the survival guide to no avail. A little googling suggests it's .Net related but I haven't found a similar error reported elsewhere in the forum. Any help will be appreciated.
I saw on a recent witch-hunt for dll's for a particular plugin that there are quite a few duplicate DLL's in the main gbpvr and subdirectories. It all works, so presumably this is OK, but I thought I'd highlight it. If any shoudl NOT be duplicated, as they are now ina 3rd party or plugin dir under plugins, pls let me know!
btw sub, just an observation only for the patch sticky, there's been a number of PVRX2 updates 22nd, 25th (2x), 26th and Nativeutilties.dll updates (22nd/26th) since the last one on the 19th Nov.
Just wondered if anyone had a working setup using an ATI 2x00 video card, and if so could you share your settings?
I have a HD2600XT and am using the 7.11 catalyst drivers, but despite hours of playing around with various decoders and settings, my picture is still not as good as it was with my old cheap and nasty geforce4 MX400 card. ie GBPVR menu transitions are still sometimes choppy and I can get some impressive image tearing on mpeg playback.
So - if anyone has tweaked it to their liking, would you be able to post all appropriate info? (ie catalyst version and settings, mpg codec etc).
I've spent so many hours trying to get a clean GB-PVR install working on my new computer as well as it did on my old one that I'm getting serious MythTV flashbacks.
I have set up a NAS box using Naslite and raid5 for all of my files. This includes my recordings.
Lately I've noticed that some recordings are messed up. To be specific, the recordings often skip forward, freeze up, or display blocks.
Last night I copied a few hundred gigs to my NAS, and in the morning, the recordings that were scheduled during the copy time were only 250megabytes, instead of their usual 3GB.
I'm assuming that the bandwidth was all taken up by my copy process and gbpvr was not able to record properly? Is there any way or plans to implement a way to detect when a recording fails in this way? IE the write operation fails? Specifically how is recoridng the stream handled?
Another problem I'm having is watching a show while its recording. IE Chase play. I can watch finished recordings fine on multiple computers with no skipping. I can also record fine while watching another show. However if i try to watch a show while its recording, i get horrible skipping~around 2-5fps.
Watching the recording after its done in wmp or gbpvr is fine, but watching during the recording process from the NAS doesnt' work.
One thing I would really welcome would be if GBPVR kept track of whether a show had been watched after it was recorded. I record a fair bit for the kids, and often when the show is over they just turn off the set. It would be great to be able to see which episodes of their shows were "already watched" so I could delete them.
I am having issues with certain channels where GBPVR crashes on me after watching an HD channel for awhile. It seems as if it is a signal issue where if gbpvr loses a lock it crashes.
Can it be helpful to put an amplifier on the cable input when using qam? If so, does anyone have any recommendations on a quality amplifier?
