I am making a fresh install of BG-PVR. I have a DvicoHDTV DVB-T Plus card installed which I have previously used ok in another PC running GB-PVR.
I have selected the BDA Recording Plugin and then selected Dvico Fusion DVB-T Plus from the Device Type drop-down menu.
I then select, DVB EPG Broadcast as my EPG source then GB-PVR crashes.
Do I need to have an EPG source such as an XMLTV file? I haven't configured one yet.
I am running a 2.4GHz P4 with 1G RAM, 7600GS AGP, PVR-150 and HVR-1600, XP. I have the setup working pretty well and I thought would share some of the tweaks that helped FWIW:
-Big thing: shut off task manager. Made a huge difference on HD TV.
-Running FSE and also set it up to run GBPVR from a batch file and loading the application with high priority. The high priority part may not have made any difference, sub can speak to it on whether or not the live TV threads are already run at high priority within GBPVR.
-Using nVidia PureVideo decoder. Used the registry import of the tweak for Purevideo that can be found on the forums here. Works much better than trying to manually adjust the Purevideo settings.
-Manually shut off the wireless network monitor. The d-link network monitor that I am using generates continuous hard disk activity. If I shut that down the hard drive activity goes away(but I still have internet connectivity).
-Shut off all the eye candy in XP, all the window affects. XP looks very vanilla now but that's unimportant.
-Using the latest nVidia drivers.
A P2.4G machine is on the low end for running HD but it's working pretty well. There isn't any stuttering except for the occasional single shot stutter(stutter every few seconds or so). Not sure if this is a processing issue or strength of signal issue. I am having problems with certain HD channels causing crashes. I do get motion blur on sports programming but again not sure if this is a processing issue.
Analog TV works flawlessly, it's only the HD portion that shows some flaws as noted above.
I've been using GB-PVR for a couple of years now, but I just had to do a fresh install when my old PC died.
OS:
Vista
Tuners:
Hauppauge 150
Hauppauge 500 (which has two tuners)
When watching Live TV, everything comes out fine. When playing back a scheduled recording, there is no Audio. I'm at a lost as to where to troubleshoot first.
I am using qam tuning with an HVR-1600. Certain channels cause crashes of GBPVR at random times. Other channels are just fine, could run all day w/o problems.
Are there any techniques either in modifying config or other means that can help alleviate these crashes? It appears that it may have something to do with a tuning issue. Would putting an amplifier on the input from the cable to the qam port on the HVR-1600?
I have GBPVR set up in that I have channels scanned for 119,110, 91, 82 (expressvu and dish network). GBPVR reports some of the channels as PPV (multiple instances) and Unknowns#1-x (x>12). I also have a schedules direct account that GBPVR gets guide data from. I want to map the channels that GBPVR scans to the guide data. This is a very tedious manual process. The channel mapping in the configuration tool will do the job, but it is going to take me hours I think.
Part of the time consuming process is the fact that the channels to not sort alphanumerically in either the "channel name" column or the "tuning request" drop down box during the mapping process. So, I was wondering if there is a 3rd party utility to work with xml or databases so that I could look through the epg data xml file as well as the scan cache file that gbpvr creates and then match those up. It might make the process go quicker because one could sort the data to match it up easier.
Maybe I am missing something, but I've read and picked up on the fact that North American DVB does not transmit the SID or PID in a standard manner and this is part of what makes the channel mapping so clunky and manual.
Thanks in advance for anybody that can make this process easier for me.
Downloaded the latest release (i have no previous installed versions)
installed .net 2.0 and the microsoft runtime
try to install the gbpvr and i get "Internal Error 2721. WiseUpgradeCheck" and then "Installation ended prematurely because of an error."
downloaded another copy of the installer and get that this is not a valid installer file message.
about the machine
fresh install of XP sp2 and the only installed software is the ATI software for the AGP video card used for playback. no decoder card yet, just using playback to get a feel right now.
after i couldn't install the first 2 versions, i cleaned out the msi crap with the windows installer cleanuo utility - maybe a mistake.
i have tried versions 10008.msi and 10016.msi as well and they also give the "not a valid install file" or whatever message as well.
Just a quick question I'm wonder if somebody can answer for me. I'm guessing it's not possible but there is obviously no harm in asking!
Is it possible under Vista to playback a recording and have a 5.1 feed via SPDIF as as well as a stereo output at the same time using a single soundcard?
The only reason I'm asking is that I have my PVR hooked up to my amp but am more than happy to use my TV's speakers when I'm viewing TV shows that are only in stereo anyway and save the world by not using as much electricity! When I want to watch a movie however I want full 5.1 via my amp. Is there any easy way to have the system send the 5.1 audio direct via SPDIF and decode the 5.1 back to stereo and send via the line output?
First things first, I am running...
the latest version of GBPVR 1.1.5 with nuoro skin
1 Hauppauge MCE card
1 Hauppauge PVR 150 card (w/ir blaster)
1 ATI TV Wonder card
DTV D10 STB
Problem: The 43 button remote - yes that's 43 button remote - does not change channels in GBPVR if I use the numeric keys. It will, however, change the channels with the "channel up/down" key(s).
Question: Has anyone come across this problem? Is there a fix for this problem?
Heres a picture of gbpvr and pvrx2 on my psp. it uses location free, uice, s-vid out of 7600gs and the diy serial ir receiver. the remote is really slow but its still cool.
