Hey, first of all want to say that the new renderer (EVR) fixed all my jitter problems, and the new version seems a lot more sleek in general, mostly. Having said that, I'm having the following problems with the new version:
I had configured my config.xml to use my Elecoder MPEG2 Decoder package for playback. Now the audio codec shows up in the config.exe app, but the video codec no longer does. Checked the config.xml file, and it was still listed there, so not sure what happened.
Secondly, If I have the volume on mute, and I change to a channel, I get the no signal dialog box over top of the working video. However, if I have the sound on, there is no problem (definitely not a show stopper, just thought I'd mention it).
Thirdly, right clicking the GB icon in the tray and choosing EPG update does not bring up a box that shows the progress of the EPG update, nor does it seem to do anything. It did work in the config.exe app, however, and my fourth problem:
When I updated the EPG through the config.exe app, then saved the settings (hit ok, then ok again for the main config window), It lost all of my config settings! All my mapped directories, all my playback settings, everything except, and thank GOD, my Capture sources! Not sure why this happened. I'll post my logs for you.
All in all a good realease though! Thanks for all your hard work sub!
My first question should be really simple... How do I make it fullscreen, no windows, or start bar.
Second, I am using a HVR-1600 and have my wall cable going into the tuner, and my STB going into the S-video input.
I want to use the Tuner on the card for recording functions, and the s-video for watching tv tuned via the STB. I think I have GBPVR setup to do this now, but I don't know how to change input sources.
Otherwise GBPVR is running very well, but PVRX2 crashes on initial startup, don't know why? My computer is a 1ghz PIII, 512mb RAM, 80gb HDD,
Juniors cartoons is simply eating up too much space in my setup (I'm at fault myself - I seem to always go for getting the full series of whatever I can ), so I'm seriously considering transcoding them to a more manageable size. However - I'm reluctant to leave the comfort of the mpg-format.
Anyone got recommendations as to what filetype at what conversion settings (and using which tools/apps) to get a reasonable compression while still maintaining comparable quality (which for cartoons should be easy)?
It should be with a reasonable performance in transcoding - i.e. it must be possible to get the cartoon up playing almost instantly and with no hickups/stuttering.
I've set up GBPVR so it can play my mp3 audio files and display my jpg pictures on the GBPVR client PC. I can navigate with the mouse or the Hppg remote, no bother.
I have a single MVP connected to the TV in another room. I can navigate on that, with the remote, to the parent audio and picture folders but that's as far as I can go. I can't see or play any of the mp3 or jpgs. Can anyone suggest how I can check network permissions? I remember seeing something on the forums/wiki about running everything on the same account but i have not been able to find it again despite searching for hours. Also how do you change the GBPVR process from running under SYSTEM?
just upgraded and everything went fine, but in config, when i hit the mpeg2 playback decoder 'properties' i get a crash..

Hello,
I am having difficulty getting GB-PVR to work with a Silicondust HDHomeRun ethernet tuner on Windows Vista X64. Here's where I've gotten so far:
GB-PVR works on the same PC hardware when I boot it using Windows XP (32bit).
I have the latest Silicondust software and drivers installed and working in Vista x64. I can tune QAM cable stations and view them with no problems using VLC.
GB-PVR install had errors registering various .ax files during setup. I ran the re-RegisterFiles.bat (running as Administrator in a command prompt) and all registered ok except for PsiParser.ax .
I checked the Application event log and found event ID 33 Source SidebySide errors each time PsiParser.ax tried to register. The text was:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\devnz\gbpvr\PsiParser.ax". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
This lead me to install the x86 version of VC++ redistriubtables (the x64 version was installed to support the HDHomeRun software). I was then able to register PsiParser.ax successfully.
I copied the bda.ini from the working GB-PVR installation on my Windows XP x32 volume.
I am receiving schedule info from ShedulesDirect.
When I attempt to click "Map digital channels to EPG channels' I see the error:
GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use.
Next error is an unhandled exception with this text in the details:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I would attach log files but I don't see anything created in the \logs folder while running the config program.
All the searches I have done in this forum have pointed to problems in the bda.ini, but since I copied my bda.ini from the working installation under WinXP on the same machine, I don't think that is the problem.
The weird thing is that I tried this before with v1.0.16 and it did not solve the problem. Thanks sub for an amazing update! (My wife is loving the old guide that you put back..)
