  Problem
Posted by: cjohns38 - 2007-10-18, 03:45 AM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (1)

I installed the community skin and have ran into a weird one. Everything seems to work fine unless I go try to use the TV Listings plugin. When I try and use that it freezes up PVR2. I have to use the task manager to kill it. Any ideas?

I have finally finished my super high visibility skin for 1.0.16 pvrx2 (well first release anyway) basically designed for the MVP but should be OK on the PC.

PVRX2 changes Power Options in Control Panel
Posted by: widman - 2007-10-18, 01:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm in the process of rebuilding my system and have almost everything back to where I want it. The basic specs are:

XP Pro, SP2
GBPVR 1.016
motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H
CPU - AMD BE-2350
1 gb ram

I'm using the motherboard's onboard video and running the s-video out to an SD television.

In the "Power Options" control panel under the "Advanced" tab, I have the computer set to go into standby when I press the power button. I also have unchecked the "Prompt for password" box.

My problem is that whenever I start & stop GBPVR.exe or PVRX2.exe, the options in the "Advanced" tab revert to the defaults; the power button shuts down the machine and the computer prompts for a password on return from standby.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  Andy Warhol would've approved
Posted by: bgowland - 2007-10-18, 12:38 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Sorry - I have to post this...

Open PVRX2 on your PC monitor then left click the title bar and drag it off the right, left or bottom of your screen. Pull it back but don't let go of the mouse button. Instant pop-art.

Bearing in mind Andy Warhol was fixated with film/tv etc. I think he would've liked this - it could possibly make the Tate Modern. Smile

Cheers,
Brian (I think I have my surreal head on tonight)

  Spelling mistake on conflict dialog
Posted by: Carlito - 2007-10-17, 11:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

On the conflict dialog when you choose to resolve the top of the dialog says 'The following conflicts where found'
This should be 'were' instead of 'where'

Not a big deal but at least it's an easy fix Wink

  EPG Update Log?
Posted by: smajor - 2007-10-17, 10:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Which log file has information about the automatic EPG Update?

I'm still having the problem of my Guide not updating from the local xml file.

I've scheduled the update to happen at 7pm nightly when I know the system is on and in use (usually it is in use from 3pm to 10pm on, so I know it's not the wake system issue in the survival guide.)

Thanks!

  I have stutter, stutter, stutter . . .
Posted by: fine2ning - 2007-10-17, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I recently installed GBpvr v1.016 and just when I was ready to celebrate, it started to exhibit AUDIO stutter. I searched all the forums and didn't find ANYONE with this problem! (only video stutter). I have cable TV hooked directly into my tuner card and every channel will exhibit the same problem at random times: the audio will repeat the same phrase about 6x then proceed normally, then repeat again ad infinitum (video doesn't stutter at all though). I've tried every video render option & every audio render option in the setup and I've tried every hardware acceleration option (both video & audio) and no change. When I played an mpg recording from GBpvr and played it from GBpvr it had the same problem. Now the defining test: I played that SAME mpg on MPC (totally different program), and it played flawlessly. So I believe the problem is in the playback of the GBpvr (not in my hardware). I get the same results using PVRX2. I would like to continue using this program but the stutter is too annoying, too annoying, too annoying.

Any clues?

  Media Center and SCART connector
Posted by: fdpm - 2007-10-17, 08:05 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Many branded MediaCenter devices based on MS MCE has SCART interfaces, with RBG, S-Video and Composite output and sometimes with passthorugh connection.
Do they all use custom hardware or does it exist a Video Card with such connectors? I couldn't find anything out there...

Regards,

FDPM
