Okay, I've ALMOST got playback of Live TV and Mpeg recordings perfect on a PVR machine I set up for my parents, but I'd apprecaiate some help in getting it VERY perfect!
Basically, I'm yet to find a video decoder that gives me great results every time. (Using latest GBPVR on nVidia 6600GT video card). At the moment I have Cyberlink, DScaler, MPV decoders installed. Cyberlink and DScaler give me great smooth playback, but occasionally when changing channel, or skipping forwards/backwards through recordings, the video begins to stutter badly and ghost. Skipping channels forwards and backwards seems to fix the problem for that particular channel, as does pausing and playing a few times on recordings, but only until the channel is change / the recording is skipped the next time.
MPV, on the other hand, doesn't do this stuttering, BUT, video playback is noticably less smooth when using this, with lateral jerking when the camera is panned, or on news tickers. Dscaler and Cyberlink look much better.
So I feel I'm very close to getting this setup right. Any tips, requests for info, or recommendations for other decoders to try, very much welcomed
I've got a couple of suggestions for changes to this plugin.
1. When going into the cinema from the main plugin screen and seeing the list of films. Would it be possible to display the imdb picture of the film on the left hand side of each film?
2. Rather than display film times first, is it possible to display synopsis instead ? Then film times can be displayed when you've chosen a film ? If people dont like this idea, could it be configurable ?
3. Would it be possible to add the film certificate as either an image or text on the main listing (in point 1.) ?
Can someone tell me what this error means? I was watching a recording and turn subtitles off and on because it was out of sync and then it crashed with this error.
I have my HD channels mapped to 100 and above. I cannot, however, punch in 100+ on my Hauppage remote, it won't allow anything above 99. Is there anything I can do about this?
I´m trying to setup my MCE IR-Blaster to change channels on my old Philips DSX 5500 STB. The "bug" is placed at the right place (I think) and all covered with eletric isolation tape, and it changes channels, but not always.
For example, sometimes sending the number 8 works OK but other times it doesn´t and 8 olny works again after sending another number. It happens to every number I tried to learn with HIP or GBPVR.
Someone here uses the same stb and can send me the correct codes (on HIP format or even bin/irk raw codes for using with GBPVR)?
Until I can find my old Xp disk I am stuck with Vista..PVRx2 works fine, but only when I run it from programfiles>devnz>gbpvr>pvrx2 ( I need to right click and hit run as administrater) If I try to start from tray I get a strange error 'attempted to divide by zero'..Is there a way to set it up so I am always the admin. for gbpvr? I realize this may be more of a vista issue, but hoping someone with a similar situation could lend a hand
There was I, carelessly browsing through some output from TSReader when these words caught my eye

I thought "what's that then?" - so I googled it - BIG mistake  - this is what I got - and it's just an amendment - where did I go wrong
i currently interface the BaseButtonListUiTask class from my plugin, but what if i want to build another element object that is not of type list. i want a new view that is of my own design... how do i get instantiate this within my plugin?
I used to use Slimm with XP x86 for a long time and it was a great addition being quicker and easier to check up and coming recordings, etc. When I switched to XP x64 it would no longer work in the sense that it would fail to start and bring up a crash dialogue. On a fairly clean, few days old install of Vista Ultimate x64 the same again happens.
Is there a timeframe for a possible x64 compatible build? I don't know how that would sit with 32-bit GB-PVR but it may be worth a try. Maybe there are extra switches in the compiler to make it play nice. It's a shame to not have it working on x64 since many may be switching to x64 or thinking about it.
I volunteer to guinea pig myself for any test builds.
