Does anyone know where i can download a sample HD clip that I can use to test playback? I want to make sure my PVR is up to the task before I order on of those new HDTV capture cards (HVR-1800 or Avermedia M780).
Hi,
I've been reading around the wiki and forums, and have seen talk about how easy it can be to set up GBPVR to record videos, cut the commercials, and then transcode them to say, mp4. I've seen a few batch files to download, but I don't understand where they belong, and I don't know how to tweak them.
Is there any where for me to learn how to set these things up?
I want recordings to be cut of commericals, and then transcoded for an ipod, but still leave the original recording in tact, in case the commercial cutting messes up
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for any replies, sorry about this topic being one that gets brought up a lot.
 I am running GBPVR version 99.12 I'm getting an error when setting up the EPG with Schedules Direct. I have set up an account with SD, selected my TV line up and downloaded the files from Schedules Direct to make this work. When I run configure, enter my TZ info, enter user name info & password, a message flashes on the screen too fast to read. If I look at the I-xmltv log, I get an error 62. It references the ReadME-Now file. If you look at what an error 62 is, "Input Past End of File". What does that mean? I don't get any data from SD. Or maybe that doesnât have anything to do with my problemâ¦.? I've spent several hours trying different things, still same error. Does anyone have any thoughts.
Iâm willing to totally reinstall if I have too, which is about where Iâm at. But thought that maybe someone might have a suggestion.
Iâm a little disappointed that I hadnât heard a response from anyone since I posted on Sunday on the Plugin & Skins Support section. So, I thought I would post here and follow your advise on âposting support questionsâ
For some reason I'm unable to upload my logs, but I have them if someone is willing to help
Does anyone have any experiences with either card receiving over the air broacast (not QAM). I have seen many posts about QAM but very little about OTA broadcasts.
I have a spare PCIe slot on the motherboard and I want to keep the two PVR150s that are in there, so any conflicts I should look out for? Anybody running both the HVR-1800 or M780 with a PVR150 in their machine?
Thanks.
Perhaps you saw my recent thread wherein I complained that schedules direct didn't work.
It finally did! GBPVR works again, except, for the first time ever it doesn't want to give me any sound or video when watching tv.
I've used older versions of GBPVR, I've used this version of GBPVR with zap2it and then later yapi2xml (when it still worked). I recently uninstalled and nuked the directory, reinstalled, and then started using schedules direct.
I have no idea what to do, it's worked in the past and this is a clean install. Any ideas?
In the picture library, it is no longer possible to zoom into pictures. At least not via the MVP, did not try yet on the PC. In 99.12 (and older versions) you could zoom with the OK button, and then navigate with the arrow keys.
Is this a feature we have to wait for in the next version?
My main media player is still mplayer, as it loads fast and it reads many formats. I use GBPVR as a recording source for Hauppauge 350 recordings, which are in most cases 720x480 SD broadcasts. Some are Pillar Boxed, some are Letter Boxed and so on.
Since my monitor is 16:9 (Actually 16:10) at 1680x1050 resolution, I would like to be able to do what GBPVR does with the F7 key and what other apps such as the XBOX XMBC , that allows for a key or a control button to cycle between different aspect ratios , specially being able to zoom into a 720x480 pillarboxed video and see it 16:9 without black bars.
Do any of you mplayer/mencoder experts know if this is possible with mplayer, or if it is not, what the command line would be to view a 720x480 pillarboxed zoomed for FullScreen 16:9 resolution ?
I've installed the most current version of SlimmGBPVR and functionally everything is working great. Unfortunately, for some reason, visually there is a problem with the main menu being 'blacked-out' except for the selected sub-item (see attached screen shot).
I've de-installed and re-installed with no affect.
I have upgraded to the newer version, and I am enjoying it pretty well. Good Work! There is one thing though that seems to drive me nuts and I can't tell in the forums if others are having the same issue...
Watching live TV (Analog) and you hit pause. The program pauses as it is suppossed to, and you come back and play it... that works fines as well. BUT... if you hit pause AGAIN, the program will freeze and come out of the freeze back on the Main Menu. Ugggg very frustrating when you know you just missed 30mins of live tv and didn't record it as the pause should have worked the second time around.
I tried this with changing the channels... paused on one channel then played, then changed the channel and paused and it worked fine. It only seems to happen when you pause the same channel twice. I would just hit record while watching the program as well, but that does not seem to work either, I have to go out to the Main Menu and select Guide or Manual recording and record it that way for it to work.
These bugs were not in the original version I was using. I like where this is going though, it seems faster and easier to get around... and all my haug remote buttons work now... sweet.
