I've looked unsuccessfully for a consolidation or summary of EGP solutions so I'm posting.
I would like to determine a cheap (no cost) solution for the short term so that I can test my new setup (upgrading to 1.0.16 and going to digital cable.
Per the v1.0.16 survival guide, I downloaded the Schedules Direct patch When attempting to unzip into the GBPVR folder, I am receiving a request for a password in order to replace the existing file.
any help greatly appreciated.
If I am watching a show that is currently recording (chasing playback) and stop the playback before I watch the entire show, I would like to have the ability to resume where I left off vs having to start over again from the beginning.
This works when stopping and resuming a show that is 'ready' but not one that is still in 'pending'.
Windows Media center and other PVR's (such as Tivo) offer this capability.
I'm using GB-PVR as a VCR which seems to work pretty well in most cases. Unfortunately I experience a strange behaviour when trying to record certain tv channels:
In that case only one or two short video files, usually (but not always) each with a size of 6 kb, are written. This is reproducible.
For most of the channels recordings works great without problems. The channels which cause problems don't look special in any way when being watched directly with GB-PVR.
After experiencing this problem with version 1.0.16 I downgraded to 1.0.8 with the following result: The channels which worked with .16 work with .8 as well, the channels which caused trouble here are causing trouble there.
In .8 not one or two small files are written but on larger file instead. But as I saw in the task manager, only a few bytes are written to that file before the GBPVRRecordingService stops writing.
For version 1.0.16 I've attached all the logs in a zip file and added another file with excerpts from the logs at the time an unsuccessful recording took place.
GB-PVR is running under WinXP on an quite old computer with 450 MHz CPU, I use a Yakumo QuickStick (acting as a Freecom stick) as DVB-T receiver.
I want to apologize for the newbie question in advance, but I just want to ensure that I have everything straight in my head. I am running the latest version of pvrx2 on a P4, 3ghz machine with 1gb of memory. I currently am running a Hauppage 150 tuner card. I am wanting to add another hybrid or digital card to my setup. (I would prefer a hybrid that could record both analog and digital at the same time.) I have standard cable service w/HD serv.
My question is this, I would like to get a digital tuner that could receive HD channels and record them without having to get a cable box. I currently have a Pioneer 50" plasma that receives HD channels via a cable card. (This setup does not require a cable box.)
Is there a digital/hybrid card on the market that will allow me to receive HD channels via my cable service provider, not over-the-air, and without having to purchase a cable box?
When I hit live tv I get a blank screen. The channel display will show up but no video. Running on XP witha ATI Radeon 7000 Saphire cardand a Hauppauge 250 capture card. Tried switching from S video to external tuner with no luck. Also when I close gbpvr I receic an error asking to send info to Microsoft. Any ideas.
I'm currently using a PC with 2 MVP's. Its working fine. But I'm gonna move and I don't want to put cables in the new house. Does anyone of you have experience with the new wireless MVP's? and does GBPVR support them?
I have a PVR-500 and a HVR-1600 in my GBPVR computer. I was never able to get the HVR-1600 working so I am going to replace it with a PVR-150 but now I can only get 1 tuner on the PVR-500 to work. I think I have everything set right but when I set 2 shows to record at the same time I get 1 good recording and 1 recording with the correct name but with 0 bytes. Anybody have any ideas? I have attached the logs.
