Hi Sub This one had me going in circles for a while.
The "Post-show padding" for reccuring recordings are set to zero after "import(ing) recordings" into a blank database.
prog version was from v1.0.16 (mdb) to a clean install of v1.0.16
This of course chops the recording end off exactly at the epg sheduled end.
If you try to update the post padding it will display "zero" in the dialog on entry and accept the update, but it will still be zero on your next visit to update and recordings still end exacty on the epg end time.
What's cute, is the padding is exported correctly with your intial import padding value. even though it is stuck at zero for recordings
Pre padding works as expected.
Solution delete and renter reccuring reccording, no quick export and re import for me
First - a thank you to both whurlston and sub on the data store. I'll create my own.
So onwards to today's question!
There are several past messages posted concerning the retrieval of the current playback position via the API. Best I'm able to tell, the reply has been universally "not presently", but they are fairly old as well, so I'll ask again in case things have changed.
Specifically, is there any way to retrieve the playing position of the video when it stopped? Ideally, I would like to determine if a file was 'watched' (as opposed to 'played'). The hope was the compare the last playing position with the file's total length, and, if the former was within n% of the end, call it 'watched'. This is to differentiate it from the user playing a file, and hitting stop ten seconds later - played, yes, but by no means watched.
I can probably use the playback_position position table, but would like to avoid it, since that takes me right back to relying on a data structure that may very well change, instead of a more stable API.
Searching through the public interface in the object browser doesn't show anything that looks promising, but I figured I would throw it out there anyway in case I missed something. Wouldn't be the first time.
I've looked through all the other NSSF threads, but I still can't figure this one out...
I upgraded TightVNC from 1.2.9 to 1.3.9 - after my gbpvr server was rebooted as part of the install, my MVP started with the 'No Streaming Server Found' thing. I re-installed 1.2.9, rebooted, unplugged the MVP, waited 5 mins - still the same. Then I did all the rebooting again, but I included the router...
My router shows my server and the mac address of my MVP - they both have IP addresses in the same subnet. Can't find any errors in the logs, probably because nothing's actually happened yet. I don't have a clue  so I'm off to bed to sleep on it...
I'm new here and seem to have a problem getting epg data to load for Vista with Hauppauge hvr-1800. I have run the gui to load channel data and the xml file contains program info. I have set offset to -0500 apparently there is a time problem with local cable. Also selected my head source and scanned for channels. Inside pvr config I have no channels and can't view tv.
Any ideas would be great. I have no errors and Vista media center and guide is fine.
For instance, the rugby game is recording, i get up an hour later while the game is still in progress, go to recordings, go to in progress, pick the relevant recording, and press play. Only a blank screen comes up.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but when I playback a recording on my MVP in 1.0.16 the osd doesn't show the indicator for where I'm at in the recording.
In GBPVR.exe there used to be a red stripe at the top of the screen when you paused the playback that would show where you were and where the commercials(from comskip) were.
Is this not included in the 1.x versions or am I having an overscan issue?
I tried to search the forum for this, but couldn't figure out the proper term to search for....
BTW Sub, GREAT job on the new version. The MVP interface is much improved from GBPVR. It worked good in GBPVR but is now outstanding.
Firstly, I tried doing a search but didn't find anything, so if this issue has already been addressed, please direct me to the thread.
Like some others, when I noticed that the EPG wasn't updating, I came here to see if anyone else had similar issies. I then noticed there was a newer version of gbpvr, so I upgraded from 0.99 to 1.0.16. Sub, I admire your work, but I rather dislike the new interface (the appearance). I'm referring mainly to it being centered and in a rolodex effect. I liked having the menu items on the left and the ability to view the live tv in a box. But enough on that.
When trying to run gbpvr, it tells me "No available PVR350 was detected in the system."
PVRx2 loads and runs just fine and while I had to re-adjust a few settings at first, watching tv on it works fine too. I still feel a bit uneasy about it, since it seems a bit sluggish now, but it seems to record things just fine, so that's not too much of an issue for me right now.
Any ideas on what to do? Is gbpvr now dead for me, or is there something that I've overlooked?
P.S. for those having EPG problems
I stumbled across zap2xml.pl, a rather nice script that seems to work. Not the best solution but it's the one that worked for me.
