I'm so happy right now I just had to post about it.
First of all I realize and appreciate the SD avenue, but to stay gratis is always good and it's really all principle with me. If I start paying for the EPG then I can't call it freevo.:p Who knows how the future will pan out anyhow. I was []this close to setting up an SD account today.
Anyhow I got the preliminary/manual update done with Zap2xml and all looks very good. I had pushed it to the 11th hour and my old EPG was reporting "no show details" after 4:30 today (now). We'll see how the daily updates go.
I upgraded GBPVR to 1.0.16 first and really like the way everything works so far. Woo Hoo FFWD seems to be back.
I have recently been having a problem with my setup where the MVP is resetting itself after playing music or viewing photos in slideshow mode.
For music, when any song gets about a minute into the song, the MVP reboots itself.
For photos, if I use slideshow mode, the MVP will reboot after a few pictures. If I use the arrow keys to advance thru the photos, then it doesn't reboot.
For recordings and livetv, the MVP does NOT reset itself.
I will be doing a fresh install of GBPVR, and new drivers. I have saved the old 99.05 directory off for just in case. Is it then possible to move the config.xml from that old directory into my new directory for 1.0.16, with no problems? This would keep me from having to setup alot of configuration issues right?
I've recently installed a DVD player, but can't get it to work properly with all DVDs. The strange thing is that I get different results for different DVDs.
For instance, when I play the Cuba! DVD from Simply Red, I get no video and the menu's don't work properly. I do get to see the menu, but without any highlights. I can however navigate the menus, but without any visual feedback. Sporadically, I get a single frame; typically at the end of an audio track.
With the Live in Verona DVD from Jamiroquai I have an entirely different problem. My TV out just quits after the Copyright warning notice and doesn't come back until I change the video card mode.
With yet another DVD I don't seem to have any menu interaction at all and can never get it to play.
Some other DVDs play perfectly fine and also menu navigations works.
Audio is perfect in all cases (S/PDIF passthrough).
I'm using the standard DVD navigator (NVIDIA Navigator does not work at all), the NVIDIA PureVideo decoder for video and AC3Filter for audio. I've tried various decoder settings, without any changes.
The video card is an embedded GeForce6 (6150) with the latest drivers, connected to the TV using component output (576i).
I'm totally flabbergasted, so any help or suggestions are most appreciated.
These questions have probably been answered elsewhere but I could not find them.
1. on the EPG, my older version would highlight programs in red to indicate that they would be or were recording. In the new version, I see a red bar at the top on the timeline. Is this the way it is now supposed to work? I prefer red highlight on the actual program.
2. while watching liveTV, in the old version I could press guide on the remote and bring up the epg at the bottom of the screen; then I could highlight a program on another (or the same) channel, press enter on the remote and have a menu appear that allows me to set GBPVR to record the show. Under the new version, the guide appears at the bottom of the screen but when I highlight a program and press enter, the channel changes to channel being highlighted. There seems to be no option to set the PVR to record.
Forgive me if this has already been discussed and please point me to the appropriate thread.
I was able to get Stella Atari emulator to work through GameZone. I added it as a PC game.
The settings in GameZone were as follows:
Name: Atari 2600 (Name it what you want.)
Executable: (path to stella.exe)
Path: (path to your Atari roms, .a26 files)
Arguments: -fullscreen 1 -fullres 800x600 "%FILE%"
(include quotes)
Extentions: a26
In Stella.ini I set the preferences to start games in FullScreen
(fullScreen = 1).
I also bumped up the zoom to 3.
I seem to be having a problem - whenever I schedule a series recording that has daily episodes, it get the blue screen with the connecting to server message - I eventually get back to the main screen.
I noticed that when I schedule these on the server directly, PVRX2 hangs for a long time before coming back.
I wonder if the recording service is taking extended resources setting up all the recordings that it stops responding to the MVP's until they are all set up.
 I'm going crazy. The programmed EPG-recordings or manual recordings don't start from hibernate or standby. The windowsXP-Taskplaner works always fine and the gb-pvr-recording service is on before going to hibernate. I've installed Version 1.016 several times on a new Windows-system and tried a lot but it's not working. When the machine is on, everthing works fine also the automatic recording.
Has anyone an idea what's wrong??Help!
