  No resume for pending
Posted by: roy - 2007-09-16, 02:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When I start watching an in progress recording from the tv guide, stop watching, then resume watching, I get the resume/restart pop up. Smile

When I start watching from the pending recordings screen, stop and resume, there is no resume button (as there is for completed recordings) and I don't get the resume pop up. Sad Could one of those resume methods be enabled for pending recordings?

Hauppauge HVR-1600 and HVR-1800 and QAM
Posted by: cyclone05 - 2007-09-16, 01:15 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I've done quite a bit of searching on the forums, but I wanted to confirm that I understand the situation. QAM is working fine on the 1600, but no one has gotten QAM working on the 1800. Right?

I am looking to upgrade my cards (currently a Vbox 150 and PVR-350) and I'd like two analogue, one ATSC, and one QAM, so one of each of those should do great for my new setup - leaving me a spot for a PCI wireless card.

  1.0.16 recording update issue
Posted by: richb - 2007-09-15, 11:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've been messing around with my PVR machine for a few days trying to get the epg all set. Initially I went with yapi2xml, but then that went away and i'm on too Schedules Direct. All is well there so far.

I currently have 6 programs that I record regularly and with a small recording drive I limit how many I save at once. I went to adjust how many 'Mythbusters' I keep at one time and it said that it was a 'Record Once' item. I know that I set it up to record the whole seaon, but it doesn't show this like it used too in GBPVR.

The confusing part is that it looks like all of the correct shows are set to be recorded in the 'Pending' List. Just doesn't show up correctly in the 'Update' Screen. The problem is that when it says 'Record Once' I can't adjust the number I keep.

BTW, All of my 'Season' recordings are acting like this.

As always, any help is much appreciated.

Rich

Channel and show not matching what is supposed to be recording
Posted by: nv40 - 2007-09-15, 07:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Sub, new version has been good...but I keep finding a few glitches just when I think I've got it all worked out. (I'm testing the other dongle you suggested on my post in the MVP section...thanks for responding). Just noticed this one, but if I schedule a show to record (quick record, or standard) it shows up in the pending list with the right channel...wrong show title. If I click it for more details, it shows the wrong title AND wrong channel. I did a test record and it actually recorded the right channel I wanted though.

I just switched off zap2it to the new schedules direct (i think that's the name)....this sound like an EPG issue?

*edit...just to clarify, I switched over to the newest version and from zap2it at the same time.....so I can't isolate which could have caused this.

  Need Expert Advice (Greeen...)
Posted by: bpowell555 - 2007-09-15, 06:48 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (11)

I've plugged in a new HD LCD TV and the entire color range for the MVP has switched to massively too green. Everything else works and I've tried all available settings and swapping wires etc but no go. Can't see how it could be a tv error if tv tuners and dvd work alright? Annoyingly the tv has no option to alter individual colours...

  Channel scanning
Posted by: djtaylor - 2007-09-15, 06:05 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Simple request, could we have a "Don't clear existing scan results" option?

Reason being is that here in the UK, CBBC and CBeebies share the same mux as BBC3 and BBC4. Ftn only broadcasts at some times as does some of the other channels, Citv being another.

The issue here is that when I scan, I can only tune the channels that exist at the time of the scan. Then I have to wait for a time when the other channels are transmitting and scan again. This in itself isn't catastrophic but with 3 tuners gets a little tedious, especially as at the end of this, the recording service gets restarted just because i'm saving the config!

Finding a free time when the channels are broadcast, nothing is about to be recorded and I'm not busy can get tight.

The other solution which would ease this and for other config changes would be to have a deferred restart so that the restart was scheduled for when no recordings were in operation. I know i've asked for that before Smile

MVP stops responding to remote off and on
Posted by: nv40 - 2007-09-15, 05:53 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (6)

I've had this issue for a while....but it has gotten a lot worse after I installed the latest release (only bad thing, everything else about this new release has been head and shoulders over previous versions....LOVE IT). It repsonds to say 10-15 commands.....then locks up...then performs all the commands I hit after that relly rapidly.....then stalls again. randomly, it locks up completely and simply stops responding to commands. If I'm watching a show...the show will keep going, but nothing on the remote works.

Funny part is that usually if I let it keep playing, all the commands I hit that weren't working...go through at the same time whenever it hits a comskip commercial marker and trys to autoskip the commercial.

Anyone else have any experience with this....suggestions?

Oh...just some general info:
Wired... gigabit all the way to the mvp (even though the mvp only supports t100), only 1 MVP.

Recording channels when no EPG data exists?
Posted by: djtaylor - 2007-09-15, 05:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

So i've just added a DVB-S card to add to 3 DVB-T cards (had to remove the 4th because I'd run out of PCI slots Sad )

The biggest problem i've got is that I use XML data for the channel listings to map to and some of the channels I want to watch and record don't have any corresponding data.

The issue is that there's just a hole in the listing which can neither be clicked on in the EPG to watch live TV or select for recording.

Although it's clumsy, I can get around the lack of an selectable object in the EPG by viewing a nearby channel and then nudging off it but I can't see how to record a channel with no EPG data? The only way I can see to do this is a manual record but what I could really do with is just a dummy EPG entry that runs 24 hours. That way I could at least choose the channel but still doesn't get around the recording issue.

I can't be the only person running into this? I can't use DVB-S EPG it seems because although stuff seems to be broadcast on the SKY freesat channels, if the channel names differ slightly, it screws up the season recordings whereas at the moment, BBC1 for example is available across the 3 DVB-T and the DVB-S tuners without problems.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
David.

  Channel Line up Growing
Posted by: bradmarsh - 2007-09-15, 05:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

? Hi,
I keep getting added channels replicating the original lineup but adding a higher number to the original ones.
This happens everytime I do an EPGupdate. So once a day.

I must be missing something either in a bat file or in a config.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

I am running the latest GBPVR software and the only change I have made since Zap2it went down is using an XMLTV plugin.

My updateEPG bat looks like this

cd\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.56\
MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.56.exe /s Settings.xml /d /c
cd\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr

It runs and then GBPVR updates after.
Then I get the channel problem.

Thank

Brad
