  Hmmmm, Zap2it Update
Posted by: rbmcgee - 2007-08-26, 06:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Zap2it just send me one of those emails saying my subscription will expire (9/1/07) unless I renew. This is the same email they send every three months. For yuks, I clicked the link, logged in, clicked extend my subscription and, what do ya know, it said I was extended until 12/1/07.

Does anybody know if this is true?

  Ideal settings for playing divx?
Posted by: bibi-phoque - 2007-08-26, 05:25 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (16)

Hello,
I have been a GBPVR user for a while, works great in the living room. I recently purchased a MVP, because there were getting very cheap and was looking for a device that can stream, for the bedroom.
I have been using only GBPVR "out of the box" functionality, and am able to play Live TV, recordings, TV guide from MVP.
However, I do have one problem, I am not able to watch a full divx, it will always stop half way (it works, and then the MVP reboot itself). Very frustrating, because we can't go forward either.

I now understand that the MVP cannot play divx and does an on-the-fly conversion to mpeg through FFmpeg. I have the delay set to 10s in GBPVR config, so there is plenty of time for the conversion to start and buffer a few seconds of video. My machine is a 3GHz P4 with 1G or Ram. The MVP is wired to the router, and the GBPVR server is in 802.11G (in the living room). I can play Live TV and Recordings just fine from the bedroom and I get very good speed in wireless (48 Mbs).

Any idea what I could do differently? Is it expected to add some plugin (like Zprocess) to be able to sucessfully play divx from the mvp?

Thanks in advance,
Yann

  Problems with some remote buttons
Posted by: undret - 2007-08-26, 04:30 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (3)

Hi. I am having problems with some buttons on the remote for the mvpmc. Most often when I watch a digital cable show, the pause button (and possibly some others) stops working. Strangely enough, they seem to work fine when I use analog. Also on movies, as far as I can see.

I like to pause live TV. :-)

Other buttons work fine, such as volume, change channels, stop and exit.

I just reinstalled by entire system, and thought this problem and other strange behaviour would go away, but this one did not.

Buttons work fine on the GBPVR-bundled dongle.
Is this something known that can be fixed? I checked the logs, and there are no trace of a Pause command when I get no response. When I do get it, I see a log entry for that.
I have not played around too much with the mvpmc.
Regards,

  Find All in Recordings
Posted by: dvasco - 2007-08-26, 03:04 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

It would be nice to have a Find All option in recordings so as not to have to do a search for new episodes of an already recorded show.

Is there a way to jump to current time in guide in 1.0.16?
Posted by: dvasco - 2007-08-26, 02:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I used to be able to exit the guide then go back in and it would have the current timeslot in the far left box. Since 1.0.xx I have to arrow back to the current time if I had been browsing ahead in the guide.

  Using VLC Decoder
Posted by: winddancer - 2007-08-26, 01:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

is there a way to use VLC as my decoder?
I have tried PureVideo, Cyberlink, and many others in various combinations and I can't get a good picture without stuttering, but VLC runs everthing perfect the picture is great and it is easy on my cpu.
I am not sure how VLC works, or how it does it, so I don't know if it is possible.
Thanks

  Client Problem
Posted by: bigbus01 - 2007-08-26, 12:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (27)

Sub,

I'm having a problem with one of my clients. I am using PVRX2. When I try to opent the TV Guide, I get an error that says I am trying to divide by zero.

I have two servers and when I connect to the other one, everything is fine. Attached are my client and server logs for the situation where it doesn't work.

Thanks,

Bigbus

  Purevideo replacment
Posted by: Bathman - 2007-08-26, 11:28 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (35)

With the latest relase of GBPVR I have decided to undertake a format of my harddrive and a complete reinstall of everything. I am currently having stturing problems on playback.

For the last 2 years or so I have always used Purvideo decoder (1.02.196) as the picture quality has always been excellent. However lately I have been experiencing stuttering which for the live of me I cannot resolve. As the Nvidia decoder has a reputation for being a little difficult to set up I am thinking of spalshing out on a new decoder . Has anyone got any suggestions?.

I would prefer it to offer hardware decoding and ideally not bundled with a 80meg download plus dvd palyer application that I will never use.

  Wakeup from suspend under 1.0.16
Posted by: sbiddle - 2007-08-26, 09:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm having trouble getting my new 1.0.16 install under Vista to wakup from S3 suspend for scheduled recordings. I can confirm that the RTC wakeup from S3 is working OK as I have tested this using an application called WakeMeUp! and I've also tried installed the patch that appears under the 1.0.16 survival guide thread.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

show icons used to appear, now they're gone
Posted by: Wakalaka - 2007-08-26, 08:41 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Can't find the other threads that talk about this problem. In each folder I have folder.jpg and a jpg with same name as the directory. Icons don't appear in Recordings any more.
