Not a GB-PVR question I know, but hauppauge forums are next to useless!
Has anyone had any experience of mixing 2 hauppauge devices and getting them to work OK in GB-PVR? I had a nova-t pci and just installed a nova-hd-s2 (a new version of the nova-s supporting s2 broadcasts).
Cleaning out the drivers using hcwclear and then installing the latest drivers finds both cards with no problems, all looks fine in device manager. However, neither win-tv (which keeps crashing) or GB-PVR is able to use either of the cards. GB-PVR just says that the device is not available or in use. I've tried playing about with the device numbers in the capture source config page but then I get the device doesn't exist error.
Oh and I had to add an entry in bda.ini for the nova-hd card - just copied the S2 section from the HVR-4000 card.
This is on WinMCE by the way. Any ideas much appreciated!
Maybe a failed to set something, but with the PVRX2 interface there is no "Search" option, if I goto the windows menus and load the GB-PVR innterface its still there. How do I add the "Search" option to the PVRX2 interface?
I understand it has up-conversion to 1080p and that SD DVD's look good on it as a result, so "apparently" I don't need to buy an up-conversion DVD player EXCEPT for said players HDMI interface, which apparently reduces the loss of PQ you get with Analog (or even S-Video)?
However I want to use GBPVR and I want to plug the MVP into it (at elast for now)
1st off, I'm new at HD and HDMI. If I plug MVP Svideo out =>LCD, I will get an "OK" but not "great" picture right? Will it upcovert?
Is there any way (mod or hack) to go MVP=>LCDTV via HDMI? Is HDMI "that good"?
Is there a device DIFFERENT from the MVP, which would do this?
Can you run really LONG HDMI cables to the TV? (lets say I bought a Video Card with HDMI for my PC upstairs) or is there a Network Device with converts Cat5 to HDMI output through a wee box like the MVP?
At SOME stage I guess an HTPC PC with HDMI or at least DVI (For a DVI=>HDMI Converter) will be the best solution?
Using 1.08 and Nvidea N6200 video card (Socket 754 Sempron 2600) I see slight tearing of the video when playing both MPEG2 and Divx. Is this just a performance issue or something with VMR9 Custom which is the only setting available with the new GUI?
What's the proper way to determine the installed version of gbpvr from an installer? I can see "LastKnownVersionInUse" in the registry but that doesn't sound right. Is there a file to check?
If someone already has a nsis function to handle this would you mind sharing?
I just made my first 2 recordings with the new HVR1600
neither will play through GBPVR
I checked the files, and there are 2 files.
first one is 5.5k
second is the recording, and filename ends in -1
this is true for both recordings.
if I delete the small one, and remove the "-1" from the filename of the other it will play fine in GBPVR, but I dont want to have to do that for each recording.
am I doing something wrong??
ALSO--
neither recording has any sound.
is that a setting somewhere??
several of the digital channels said AC3 on them, but I do not have an AC3 setup.
ALSO--
video seems choppy for the first couple minutes, but clears up afterwords.
both of the recordings were standard definition digital.
