It seems in 1.0.16 'exit' appears in the main menu even when it is deselected in the config>plugin tab. I understand this was necessary in 1.0.8, but not now that the 'system' menu is back.
Should the screensaver work in 1.16?
I apologise if these I have been covered somewhere I missed.
I'd like to use an MCE remote with GBPVR on one display, while also using windows and a keyboard on another display.
After plugging in the MCE IR receiver (and noticing a ton of drivers being installed, including a "keyboard" driver), the MCE remote only controls GBPVR when GBPVR is in focus. I see that it uses keyboard commands, because it controls other stuff on the desktop.
Is there any way to make the remote+GBPVR work independent of everything else in windows, like the keyboard and what window is currently in focus?
Hi, I just got a new PC, Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. I can watch previously recorded movies in mpg format, but I cannot get live TV to work. I've tried installing the codec suggested by sub from free-codecs.com but it doesn't appear to be compatible with 64-bit OS and registering the .ax file fails. I realize my problem is that I need a video decoder (I think), but I need to find one that will work with my 64 bit OS. Can anyone offer some suggestions? Thanks.
Also included is a very basic MusicLibrary3. It installs them both and you can remove the plugins\MusicLibrary3 directory if you don't want it - or disable the task. To make it work go into the config and set mostly the same options as MusicLibrary2 - including the DB - it defaults to MusicLibrary3.db3 but you can just change this.
Also included in this release is the start of dynamically loaded tag reading dlls. I've included the entagged-sharp dll which reads most things, coming very soon is the UltraID3 library from Hundred miles software - and the return of album art.
It is a beta, so be fairly careful with the upgrade, backup your existing ML2 dll and database before upgrading.
XP's sleep works soooooo good for me. It wakes, records and sleeps again.
In Vista, it's not so good. Sometimes it wakes and records (never goes back to sleep) but mostly it just doesn't wake up.
If anyone is having any luck with sleep in Vista, I'd love to know you're settings and any other secrets you may have.
I just recorded 3 shows as the same time. One show was recorded using cable box on S-video. This show was 30 minutes and showed that it was 30 minutes long.
I recorded two HD programs (30 minutes each). One was on my OTA ATI HDTV Wonder and the other was on my HVR-1600 QAM. Both of the HD shows (using Microsoft DVR-MS BDA multiplexer) showed that they were over 2 hours long even though they played back at 30 minutes long. The files showed that they were over 2 hours on Windows Media Player also so there must be something wrong with the header.
Have you seen this before?
The files do play back fine but the time is way off and comskip had problems with it (there were lots of commercial breaks that shouldn't have been there like it was a 2 hour show).
I ordered a wired MVP from ebuyer.com for £41 - it arrived Friday. I had ordered a couple of other bits & pieces to take the total over £50 - free postage that way (a Scotsman or what)
So Saturday, I change the number of MVP servers to 1, open the box, put batteries in the remote, hook up the MVP and plug it in. It finds my gbpvr server, I give it permission to continue (it's nice to have control over your machines), it continues.
20 minutes later I had tested out live TV, recorded TV, TV Guide, MP3 playback, holiday pictures, etc, etc. I was even watching JPG slide shows and playing music at the same time and isn't this thread just the most boring you have ever read?
The only real bit of fun was when I couldn't open network folders, but then I remembered about the UNC naming thing and that fixed it (this is when all those late nights spent reading through random threads pays dividends).
On the serious side, I'm really impressed with the picture quality. I was testing on a 22" 'flat' CRT and I couldn't see any difference between MVP and STB.
Next step is to move the MVP to the TV in the Network Control Facility (OK the kitchen) for some serious testing.
When I'm dealing with machines, my motto is normally "I'm an engineer - if it don't fit, I'll hit it with a hammer until it does"
But for this MVP I'm going to change it to "I'm an engineer - if it ain't broke, I'll hit it with a hammer until it is"
