I am trying to add the ability to display a 16 channel equalizer to my LCD plugin. Is there a way to get this data when an audio file is playing in GBPVR? If not, any idea on the basic implementation? I have an API for the LCD that takes a 16 place integer array with the values ranging from 0 - 100. I am just not sure how to get this data to correspond to the audio file that's playing.
Furthter to my other posts I am having an issue getting StartUp config working as I would like.
MVPMC Dongle called 'dongle.bin' and in GBPVR Dongles directory
Config file called 'dongle.bin.config' with script "mvpmc --startup emulate --emulate 192.168.0.2 &"
Share to Dongle directory created as "MVPMC" with share permissions Everyone and Guest READ. NTFS Permission Everyone and Guest with Read permissions.
This will work if I have Guest account in Active Directory Enabled but for security reasons I want to leave this account disabled and get MVPMC to use a specific account. Post 6 on http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27888 suggest Guest account does not need to be enabled. However I am struggling to get it working like that. Can anyone advise.
I've looked this up and couldn't find anything about the PC going BACK to its previous state (standby/hibernate) after recordings are done.
for example.... i'm at the PC now, working on smth. a program begins to record and i'm going out or to bed so the PC has to continue running for the recording.
i'd like to have smth that would allow me to set "go to sleep after all recordings are done" maybe in the tray utility, lets say 5 minutes after the block of consecutive recordings is done (back to previous state should be the default if gbpvr wakes the machine unless selected from tray menu.) also a big/annoying timer should show up on the monitor to let you know what's going to happen in 5 minutes so that i can cancel it if i don't want it to standby :p
right now i know you can do this same thing by setting the power saving settings but sometimes i just want to have the PC on so i don't want to mess with that... but if there's already smth out there that gbpvr works well with please let me know :o
I've installed 1.0.8 on Windows Vista and am getting the following error: "No channels have been set up..." when attempting to watch Live TV using the old interface - I haven't really tested out the new interface yet. I'm using a Hauppauge 350. The config application did detect my card and pulled the listing from Zap2It. Hauppauge's WinTV2000 application works fine detecting channels and watching TV. I've attached the logs.
I set Winoff to "Hibernate" and "Shut Down System When Computer is Idle" and "Run when Starting Windows Session" as well as "Save" (as in Save the configuration I assume). This method works Once. I let the system sit idle for 10 seconds and it goes into Hibernation, like it should. But when the PC is awakened from Hibernation, Winoff doesn't load? The Icon is present on the Taskbar Clock section till I hover over it, then it disappears. I checked Task Manager and it not there either. If run MSconfig" it is shown in the list of start up Apps.
I thought maybe this was happening because after I installed it I let it do the Hibernation task and it never got to a "real windows Start up" so I shut the system down and turned it back on and when Windows loaded, Winoff loaded, except if I hover over the icon on the Taskbar Clock section it says "no shut down programmed"
So I let the system sit for 10 seconds nothing happens, if go to "configure", the "Hibernate" and "Shut Down System When Computer is Idle" and "Run when Starting Windows Session" are still set, like I did before.
So that means I don't need to change anything. If exit out and hover on the Taskbar Clock section it says "then system will be shut down when the computer is idle for 10 seconds". So I let it go it works fine, until the system is back out of hibernation and whole disappearing icon things starts again.
I have no problem putting the machine and waking from hibernation, so I know its no a setting in the bios or Power management. I added it the list of acceptable application in my Firewall - Comodo.
I added to the DEP List in WInXP too. What could be causing it go MIA after Hibernation and have Alzhiemers after a Startup.
Why ? not because the downloads are the same name but because inside the zip files there are 2 PVRX2.exe files that do not compare. Now my first thought is to use the last posted version of any files provided in the survival guide.
I tried using DatabaseHelperFactory to get the connection string, and then create an OleDbConnection, but it fails because the string has no "Provider=" in it. I don't know what the Provider string should be.
I tried using DatabaseHelperFactory.getDbProviderFactory().CreateConnection() but the connection fails when I call Open() on it, with
SystemException: Data Source cannot be empty. Use :memory: to open an in-memory database
So how exactly do I open the database? I know there are various example code fragments in the forum that refer to SQLite classes directly but that seems a bit hacky -- what's the *right* way to do it?
UbuStream v2.2 is now available on the wiki, including support for GB-PVR v1.0.08 (both with pvrx2.exe and with gbpvr.exe).
As with the new version of UbuRadio, it's PVRX2 "compliant", so it will work fine with the new version of GB-PVR but the screens have the old-style look and feel. I'm currently working on the next release of UbuStream which will take full advantage of the new UI features, but this might take a while.
In the meantime, v2.2 has many new features to entice you to upgrade. These include:
RSS Feed (podcast/vodcast) support. Some popular feeds are included in this distro to get you started.
A video search feature that lets you search the web (using the Google or Yahoo search engines) for video streams/files to use with UbuStream. You can even save the searches as RSS feeds to run on a regular basis.
Thumbnail images for stations with the ability to view stations as Icon, FilmStrip or Detail lists.
Support for nested, multi-level station groups.
Built-in scheduler for unattended Dynamic Source and RSS Feed AutoSynch updates.
Ability to select individual real-time AutoSynch updates directly from the plugin UI.
Some new and/or upgraded Dynamic Source apps (ABC Australia, NineMSN, CNN, BBC News, SkyNews etc.).
Major thanks to ralphy, whose sharp eye for detail, practical suggestions and general enthusiasm for the UbuStream project has helped me get v2.2 through both alpha and beta testing with surprising speed. His new OzABC and NineMSN DynSource apps do a great job of demonstrating some of the new v2.2 features.
Disclaimers:
The code that temporarily disables the GB-PVR screensaver while you are playing a stream or file in Preview Play is not yet working with PVRX2. If you are playing a longish video, you may have to click a button on your remote to get the display back every once in a while.
There's a minor bug in v1.0.08 that makes using the mouse with UbuStream from PVRX2 a bit unreliable. I understand this is likely to be fixed in the next maintenance release of GB-PVR. In the meantime, you should use the remote control or keyboard interface instead.
Make sure to read the README file in the gbpvr\plugins\UbuStream folder. The documentation on the wiki pages pertains to two releases ago (v2.0) so is a tad out of date.
Has anyone else had issues getting MVP to pick up an IP address?
I have a H3 model which won't pick up an IP address however a H4 (or PC) plugged into the same LAN port has no issue. Done some testing to eliminate cabling issues and it works if the H3 is plugged directly into the DHCP server but not if plugged into the switch which the DHCP server plugs into (patch cables changed to no effect).
