Don't know if it has been recommended before or how difficult it would be to set up but I'm interested in a feature for recurring recordings that would let me save only the latest x number of recordings (instead of the first x number). Currenly with recurring recordings if a number is specified the system will stop recording once that number is reached. I'd rather have the latest recordings so would like the system to delete the first and record the latest to keep the x number of most recent shows.
Howdy,
I just installed GBPVR on my Windows Vista install. It had worked previously under XP on the same computer. The issue i have on the Vista install is that i do not have any audio coming when i playback recorded files under either GBPVR, or WMP. They playback just fine under Windows Media Player Classic.
I've tried changing between all 3 Audio Decoder options under the Playback tab (AC3Filter, MPEG Audio Decoder, and ffdshow Audio Decoder) but to no avail. Any ideas?
Hi, I originally posted this in the MusicLibrary2 support forum as I thought it might be a problem with the plugin. So apologies if you get to read this twice!
I have recently built a HTPC running WinXP/SP2 and GB-PVR, and with a Hauppauge PVR-150MCE (with the MCE-like USB remote). Pretty much everything in HTPC and in GB-PVR is working the way it should, which is excellent.
The Hauppauge MCE remote also works as I'd expect it to most of the time, but I'm having some trouble with certain buttons in some plugins.
For example, in MusicLibrary or MusicLibrary2, the Skip Fwd / Back buttons go to the end / beginning of the list of tracks, rather than Next / Previous track.
In ML2, if I press the Green button, it briefly displays the Playlist screen but immediately flicks back to the main ML2 screen. If I press it often enough, eventually it may go to the Playlist screen, but the currently playing track starts playing at double speed (same pitch though). Then the problem is reversed and I can't get back to the main screen.
If I use a keyboard (e.g. Ctrl-right, Ctrl-left, Gtrl-G), the functions work fine.
In Config I've applied the fix for the Hauppauge 45-key remote, and checked that the remote keys are correctly mapped to the right keystrokes in IRemote.ini. IR.EXE is running too.
What it looks like is that a single press of some remote buttons is sending multiple equivalent keystrokes to GBPVR, or something like that, e.g. pressing the green button sends more than one Ctrl-G to GBPVR.
Haven't been able to find anything searching the forums, and it's been suggested that I install HIP and use that for the remote instead. Before I step into the next level of complexity, given that the remote seems to be working fine in most other respects, has anyone else had similar problems and found an easy fix?
I have replaced a PVR350 with an HVR1600, and can't figure out how to keep all of the programs I have scheduled. If I delete the PVR350 capture source, all of the programs I have scheduled are gone, even if I add the HVR1600 and move it to the top of the list before deleting the PVR350.
I wouldn't mind readding my whole schedule again, but many programs won't be on the schedule again until Fall, so I can't add those now. So I have to remember to add everything once it pops back into the schedule again (assuming we have something to replace Zap2it).
Right now I have both capture source in there so I won't lose my schedule, but if there is a conflict it tries to schedule the conflict on the card that is now gone . I don't have an extra slot for the old 350.
I'm using composite input works great with satellite...ati 550 theatre
not using the program as a client...the signal goes through my vcr so I can edit home video from old sources. The vcr is not set on a channel but rather a line input and then output to the capture card. The signal is great from the satellite but when I pop in a tape , the picture is ok for 3 seconds then turns to fuzz.....must be the difference in the signal but both are running into the composite?...the only thing i can think of is the satellite has a digital signal and the vcr analog?
i have installed the GB-PVR on my Windows Home SP1. With .net program. I keep getting the following error msg. I installed it on Windows 2000 and received the same error msg.
I have only successfully installed it on Windows XP Professional SP2.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

As I look through my old VCR collection, I've discovered that many of them are beginning to get old and worn out. So I decided to see if I couldn't record them onto my computer using a video capture card and my VCR so that I could watch them using my computer and also back them up onto DVD's before the tapes wear out.
My setup is as follows:
Athlon X2 4800+
2GB PC3200 DDR
2 X Geforce 7800 GT SLI
10K Raptor 120 GB HD
Audigy Xifi Extreme
ATI Theater Pro 550
Win XP SP2
I've updated my drivers to their latest, including directx and I am also using the latest version of GBPVR downloaded from the website this morning.
My first attempt is using my old copy of the ken burns civil war documentaries. Those are probably my oldest and most worn tapes. They all play well and have no problems, but you can tell they are a bit old. When I put the first tape in, the video was perfect, but the audio was a bit low and extremely choppy. I tried the second tape which worked perfectly. Strong audio and video, no problems. So I put the first tape back in and connected it back to a TV to see if it was the tape that was causing the audio problems. It played back perfectly, with no choppy audio or pitch problems. When I recconnected it back to the ATI Pro 550 on my computer and played the first video, the choppy audio returns. I've since tried several other VCR tapes and have not had the problem.
Here's what I know:
1. It is not a problem with the tape. The tape played back perfectly with no audio problems while connected to a TV using the same VCR.
2. It is not hardware related since only this tape does it.
I think it might be related to the volume of the tape. It seems to play back at a lower volume then the other tapes. I have also noticed that when there is a break in the other tapes I have tried, such as at the beginning or at quiet parts in the video, the audio playback begins to become choppy. The problem is present in both LiveTV and recorded playback from the computer. It's almost like the computer has an audio compressor built into it, and when the volume gets to low, it tries to cut it out or something. At louder parts of the tape, the choppiness diminishes and in some cases almost dissappears.
It's not related to codec issues as all of the different audio codecs I have tried exhibit the same problem. I was not able to find a similar problem on the forums. Any ideas?
I haven't seen any discussion in the forums regarding the announcement that Zap2it is ending it tv listing service for personal use on September 1, 2007.
I think many users (inlcuding myself) would be willing to pay a small fee every month for the service if that would help keep it up and running.
What are the other options for TV listings for North Americaout for GBPVR? XmlTv?
Team,
I noticed today that what I see as my EPG data in the Config tool of GBPVR differs with what I see in EWA. I was scheduling a show for my kids to watch, and an episode search stated the show existed on Channel 77 (Sprout). So I went to have a peek at the TV Guide tab in the EWA and found no Channel 77! I was confused, but figured it was something with the EPG data.
So I went to the config tool and sure enough, Channel 77 wasn't there. So I verified my Zap2It profile (and noticed they are shutting down soon...). I updated my profile to show the correct channel lineup, verified Sprout was indeed on Channel 77, and logged out.
Returning to the Config tool, I clicked the "Update EPG" button, and it reloaded the EPG data. After it was done, I noticed in the Config tool window that my channels looked a little strange. I found one duplicate entry for a source channel (two channel 91s), and some additional channels I hadn't selected in my Zap2It labs profile. AND, for channel 77, it listed it as TOOND, rather than Sprout. I removed the duplicate and unwanted entries and clicked Ok to complete, and then Ok to get out of the Config tool (restarting the recording service, and all that).
Returning to the EWA, I found that channel 77 STILL didn't show up. Yet the config tool shows it to exist. Just for fun, I removed channel 77 - TOOND, and added Channel 77 - Sprout manually. This made no difference in the EWA. The only thing I can think of at this point is that there is something corrupt with my XML file, or something similar. Any ideas before I start poking around (and breaking stuff)?
