  Scheduling Programmes
Posted by: Spencerhopkins - 2007-05-31, 11:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am interested in building a GBPVR HTPC but my wife is very insistant that it must be virtually the same as the Sky box we use currently.

The only bit I have not been able to confirm from the wiki or the forums is can I shedule programmes to autoview, with or without recording them? This is so I can set the machine to show BBC new in the morning, or switch to the wife's favourite soaps.

  freeview NZ
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2007-05-31, 10:46 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

So, I am moving into a new apartment which is wired for both Sky and Telstra. I'll go with Telstra for my tv, internet, phone - but was wondering if I am able to use the sky output to get freeview.

I am unsure how they wire the sky for a whole building - is it one dish with the signal split to each apartment? (if so, I guess I'd have trouble with the horizontal / vertical polarity issue?)

Thanks

  standby problem on Asus M2NPV-VM
Posted by: yeohcl - 2007-05-31, 09:32 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Hi

I have a standby issue on Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard. The windows could go into standby without any problem if nothing of GBPVR is running. However when I have GBPVR running the computer will only goto standby if I set the time to 1 minute but not anything else. I have check the CPU activity and they are all below 4%. Previously I have the same problem on my Gigabyte motherboard but that was resolved due to high CPU usage when the screensaver of GBPVR kicks in. I have got it disable and the issue resolve but the problem on Asus seems more difficult. Any suggestion. Thanks.

.NET: The specified module could not be found
Posted by: flipz - 2007-05-31, 06:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey all,

I just installed gbpvr for the first time in a very long time. I was giving it a trial run before I deployed it on my HTPC. I tried installing it on another machine (2 gigs of ram, core 2 duo, fresh install of XP pro).

So after trying the install and getting a number of different errors (I didn't log any of them) I narrowed it down to being a .NET framework issue. I downloaded and re-installed framework 2.0 as well as the 2.0 SP2. After that the install went completely fine until after the install completed and I get a pop up with an error from the .NET framework. Googling hasn't helped because the error keeps getting asked about by programmers, so it doesn't really help me figure it out.

The actual error code in the message box says: "The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)." No where does it say what the "specified" module is. I will also copy and paste the entire error log below, and I have also attached all my logs from gbpvr. By the way, if I click "Continue" on the error then the gbpvr config does open, but every drop down menu and every box is just blank.

Thanks in advance!

The .NET error:

Code:

  recording service problem
Posted by: petewxm - 2007-05-30, 09:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi,
I hope someone can help with this, Recently when I select a program to record from the TV guide, the program records but when the program ends, the recording service says its still recording, so I restart the recording service and all is well again, but if I try and play the file it has just recorded nothing happens, I have checked the file and it is 0 file size.

This doesn`t happen all the time but when it does it can be frustrating.

Any ideas?

Also is there anyway to get these files to play or have they just not recorded.

Thanks

Pete

  Live TV Viewing Problem
Posted by: ESchine - 2007-05-30, 09:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I recently bought and installed the WinTV-PVR-150. I'm using GB PVR with my tuner and I'm very happy with the results. However, occassionally when watching live TV certain channels (not always the same ones) will come in in black and white or very dull colors with a slightly blurry image and no sound. It seems random as to when it occurs, and sometimes lasts several hours to just a few minutes and will fix itself. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this problem? Weak signal perhaps? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

  MPEG2 Recording Only?

Is MPEG2 recording the only output you can have with gbpvr? assuming your card has a hardware mpeg2 encoder.

  Broken OSD ...
Posted by: michaelrmgreen - 2007-05-30, 08:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Normally when playing recordings I get an on-screen-display (OSD) when I move the cursor into the GBPVR window.

I installed Media Player Classic and the K-Lite code pack to play some other files that WMP couldn't manage.

Afterwards GBPVR recordings wouldn't play and an error message (something like 'GBVVR can't continue') appeared, then GBPVR exited.

I deinstalled the K-Lite codec/Media Player Classic pack.

Now recordings play OK but the OSD is gone. I changed to 'Overlat Renderer' and the OSD came back but the buttons don't work.

Any advice? TIA

  zrename download

Zehd,

Might I suggest linking to the zrename download from it's wiki page as well as from the ztools page.

My first reaction was definitely to try and get it from zrename's own page.
