  Boot to Record
Posted by: Amused - 2007-05-31, 04:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm going on holiday soon and would idealy like to leave my PC to do the recording of programs while I'm away rather then the aging VCR.

I can't get sleep mode to work under vista, it's a hardware thing not a GBPVR thing. Once in sleep nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will wake the damn thing. If I set it to record it continues to sleep until about five minutes after the start time when in resets, re-boots and, once vista had finished loading, starts recording five mins late!

I havn't got time to play and find out what's causing this. What I would like is for the PC to turn itself on, record the program and then shut down again afterwards. I'm guessing GBPVR doesn't do this but does anyone know of a progamme which will boot up the pc from cold? Something which sets a bios alarm?

  Duplicate channels and EPG
Posted by: engnz - 2007-05-31, 02:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've got HVR-3000 receiving Freeview using DVB EPG and a PVR-150 receiving only Prime and Triangle using xmltvnz.

This works great but I'd like my PVR-150 to also receive the same channels as the HVR-3000 to do overlapping recordings.

I tried adding TV3 to the PVT-150 along with sky_tv3 EPG and it got pretty confused. Does anyone know how to do this in 99.12?

  Remote Desktop Connection for Mac?
Posted by: bpowell555 - 2007-05-31, 01:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi All

I have GBPVR installed on a pc server and access it using MVP. However, if the MVP were to crash for whatever reason or for some reason I'm connected to the server using an ibook and RDC for Mac, while I can use gbpvrconfig.exe gbpvr itself does not support the RDC connection. Is there any reason why or any scope this feature could be added?

I hate the mac so much I prefer to use a pc "terminal" if at all possible - you don't hear that every day Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Posted by: bpowell555 - 2007-05-31, 01:14 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (11)

Hi All

I programmed my one4all with the hauppauge remote so I would have thought to search the tv guide I could press the keypad to enter characters to search on, but it doesn't seem to work. Any other suggestions for how to enter text for searching the tv guide?

Cheers!

Cannot browse tv guide in 99.12?
Posted by: bpowell555 - 2007-05-31, 01:12 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Hi All

I've rolled back to 99.05 but wanted to check: when browsing the tv guide on the tv in mvp I couldn't get the highlighted current program to shift to the right to browse other programs? Is this a known bug? 99.05 works fine.

Cheers!

Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-T Pro PCI Card with DIVX recording.
Posted by: systemshark - 2007-05-31, 01:08 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Sub.

I've been looking at one of these Pinnacle cards, which according to the info says it records natively in DIVX.

If I drop on of these into GBPVR, can I use GBPVR to record DIVX???

Indication if recording has been seen to the end.
Posted by: martint123 - 2007-05-31, 12:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (12)

Not high on my personal wishlist, but would "be nice to have".

(I have the "resume" facility turned on).

When going through my recordings, thinking of things to delete, normally from the 'whats new' menu, I click on the recording and if I see 'resume' click on it to see if it was watched to the end, if so, I may well delete it.

My wish would be that instead of 'resume' it said 'viewed' if the resume position was at or very close to the end of the recording.

Another wish may be that in the 'whats new' list, as well as 'ready' 'failed' or whatever, it included as above 'viewed'.

cheers and thanks

Martin

Have attached my GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log containg the error:

It means that my second nova-t never records anything, any pointers on what to check?

  Comcast Digital
Posted by: Smoker - 2007-05-31, 11:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (55)

Greetings

Having never even seen a digital box from Comcast I have to ask, does the Hauppauge 1600 work with it ? The reason I ask is the following on CircuitCity's web page

Quote:Note: ATSC digital TV is NOT digital cable TV or digital satellite TV. The WinTV-HVR-1600 cannot receive digital cable TV or digital satellite TV.
