  do purevideo decoders expire?
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2007-05-23, 01:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I'm thinking of installing the purevideo decoders on my non Nvidia system. Does anyone know if the decoders still work once the trial has expired?

Thanks,
Jam.z

  Enable channels
Posted by: jimbranch - 2007-05-23, 12:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I have selected my tuner and have Zap2it setup. All channels show up but they are not "enabled". If I try to schedule recording, I get an error message about a conflict. I realize I am a novice. I could use some help.
Pinnacle HD Pro Stick USB tuner DVB-t setup.

Thanks for any help I can get.

  GBPVRConvert problem -show name length?
Posted by: bgowland - 2007-05-23, 12:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

There is a short series of programmes currently showing on BBC4 (Freeview). The programme runs from 19:00 - 20:00 and I can see from the log that the auto-convert starts just after the post padding (20:06) but it's still running when I get home from work at gone midnight and the mpg file is a fraction of the size of what it should be.

I think other conversions are OK as "Doctor Who Confidential" transcoded fine on Saturday. I haven't tweaked anything that I'm aware of (too busy working shifts to even think about it).

Could it be the length of the programme name? The log shows the name truncated for the SBSource and GB-PVR Writer filters or is this a logging issue rather than a restriction in DS filters?

I can't think of anything odd about these recordings other than that.

Cheers,
Brian (log attached - GBPVRConvert still running at 1am)

  Aspect Ratio/Hauppage 45 Button Remote
Posted by: 235301 - 2007-05-22, 11:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is it possible to setup the 45 button remote so that one of the buttons cycles through the aspect ratio settings(pill box, auto, letterbox, etc.). Many of the analog tv shows now are in letter box mode and it would be nice to one touch cycle through the aspect ratio quickly.

  VRM9/New Video Card
Posted by: 235301 - 2007-05-22, 11:19 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I was previously using a Ti4200 and switched to a 7600GS. Previously VRM9 was working choppy on the Ti4200(choppy but still have a proper screen of video) but I switched to VRM9 Exclusive and video was good. Now I have the 7600GS in place and want to run VRM9. The problem is I get live video in gbpvr but it's justified up into the upper left corner with odd video patterns on the right and bottom of the screen(looks like blocks of color). It's almost as if GBPVR doesn't recognize the resolution of the capture card(I am using HVR-1600 and PVR-150 in the PC). I run in Pillbox mode for most analog video as I am running this on an LCD TV(res=1320x768). If I go fill mode then the odd video patterns disappear but then again fill mode gives the incorrect aspect ratio for analog TV. Anyone ever experience this before? Solutions? With the 7600GS if I go VRM9 Exclusive or VRM9 Custom I do not see the odd video patterns in pill box mode and the video fills the entire pill box area properly. So it's only VRM9 mode that causes problems with this video card.

The only other odd thing about the setup was when I plugged in the LCD TV to the 7600GS it didn't recognize the resolution of the TV even though the Ti4200 did. Note that I am using the DVI port on the video card. I would have figured the new video card would be much more apt to recognize the resolution of the TV. Also note that I am running gbpvr in 16x9 mode.

'Object reference' error immediatly after install
Posted by: Rebecca_HV - 2007-05-22, 09:59 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (3)

Just installed 99.12 on a new machine (amd x2 3600+ 1gig, etc) new os (xp sp2, net2.0 etc) and wanted to try this plug-in for advanced searches (only use wired MVPs for viewing). When trying to configure the plugin, I can't exit the 'Search Wizard Plug-in Settings' screen (even if I make NO changes) without getting the error message 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object'. My only choices are Continue or Quit. Continue sticks me back in the 'settings' screen and quit bombs out of 'GBPVR Configuration' all together. The MVPs haven't recognized the install of Search Wizard yet (the only other plugin installed is the weather plugin, which the MVP does see). Cold booted MVPs and PC. Same thing.

What have I overlooked?

Recording Issues (Channel Change, Space Used, etc.)
Posted by: Kasuo - 2007-05-22, 09:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Allo - I've just switched over to GB-PVR instead of Media Portal. I must say it's much more stable and reliable overall. However, I've got afew issues that have popped up after getting the system as a whole up and running.

Is there a way to limit the buffer for Live TV?

While recording, GB-PVR won't change the channel through the IR blaster. There are no other problems with channel changing.

As for the last problem, I understand others have posted about it. However, nothing in those posts have seemed to help - HIP doesn't seem to help at all either. I'll be posting the log files shortly, but it would be nice if there are any other possible suggestions.

BTW I'm using GB-PVR v.0.99.12.

  Line In Recording
Posted by: rebornempowered - 2007-05-22, 07:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a Hauppauge PVR-150 and I want to use the video-in jacks to convert my VHS tapes to DVD.

Is there a way to do this within GBPVR or do I need some other software to do it?

If I need other software, I would appreciate recommendations.

Thanks!
