I am so confused. I rebooted my machine today and all of a sudden the TV now show MVPMC Myth TV stuff? I am not even sure what that is. I use GBPVR...are they related? How do I get this off?
Please forgive me, I bet this has been asked a million times. I searched through the forums but didn't find an answer to my particular situation.
I have a wired LAN in my office on the 1st floor. I'd like to setup a MVP in our upstairs bedroom.
I've heard varying reports of success using the powerline adapters, but frankly our home's wiring is pretty crappy so I wouldn't think this would work well.
So I'm looking at adding something to the LAN to enable wireless connectivity. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for, I don't want to replace my current router or anything, I just want to plug in something to an open network cable slot on the router to enable a WAP. Then either get a wireless MVP, or a wired version with another WAP on the other end for it to connect to. Anyone have a suggestion? Cost being the largest factor. And I would prefer the items be available on Amazon as I have some gift credits there.
Of course I could also pay someone to drop some CAT5 cable from the bedroom down to the office... but I don't know how much such a thing would cost and I don't know anyone that could do that off-hand.
I'm using sceneo TVCentral 3 and all channels are available. Now I want to change to GB-PVR.
In the config of v0.99.12 after setting recording source to BDA recording plugin and after choosing my pinnacle by tiping "only show devices detected in this machine" I clicked "map dig. channels to epg channels" but no channels are found. Did I made sth wrong?
I am hard of hearing and I use closed captions on my TV. When I record using my PVR I dont get closed captions. I have tried every thing. If I am watching a show live it has CC but if I record the same show it does not. Does anybody know how to fix this?
Does anyone know if the actual Microsoft MCE remote comes packaged with any TV cards?
I'm getting a hvr-1600, but that comes with an annoying remote that plugs into the card directly, which is no use to me, since I'll be running a client seperately from the PC with the TV card installed.
I thought, instead of buying the Microsoft remote for $35-40, I might as well add a 2nd tuner card, and use the USB remote on my client...
I'm assuming the Microsoft MCE remote is the best choice for compatability(?) unless someone can offer a better choice. I wouldn't want to spend more than $40 or so on the remote though.
I use HIP to send keystrokes from my MCE remote to GB-PVR, and when my TV is muted (I tried setting the Mute button to the IR code for my TV, and to run a program which mutes the Master Volume of Windows XP), no other buttons respond until tv is unmuted.
