Starting with Sky+ and HD boxes very shortly, but moving to all of them in time.
The new feature monitors whether people are using their Sky+ or Sky HD box overnight between 11.00pm and 4.00am. If the box has not been used for a period of two hours after 11.00pm, an 'Auto Standby' warning will pop up on screen for three minutes. If there is no further use the box will go into Standby mode automatically.
I know the Hauppauge PVR150 is unable to send any IR signals to wake up a sky box from standby, so there may be a wishlist request sometime in the future to send "keepalive" channel changes if there is an overnight recording due.
I have a little problem. Everything is working fine, but when I enable "Use FFDShow Post-Processing when installed" Live TV hangs after one or two seconds. I have FFDShow installed; and video's play just fine. (I have a few settings of FFDShow changed for the luminance.)
In the Reoccurring screen, when I hit Ch+ it acts like Page Up key, when I hit Ch- it acts like Page Down key. Shouldn't they be the other way around, that Ch+ is Page Down (increase index) and Ch- is Page Up (decrease index)?
There are lots of messages here about the Hauppauge screen saver, but none I can find that say this:
I want it back!
We use Net Radio a lot here, and we like the way the Hauppauge SS pops out for a bit when the NR screen changes to announce the next song.
I've removed the SS Plugin, and put (I think) everything back in config.xml the way it was before (including the "DisableHauppaugeMVPScreenSaver" , but no joy.
I'm using 99.5 (reverted from 99.12, due to the remote lock bug). Please, help! -JW
I apologize if this question has been answered already, but I couldn't find an answer to it, so here it goes...
I'm running GB-PVR on my P4, Hauppauge pvr-150MCE, Radeon 9700Pro computer connected to a Sony 27" CRT TV (4:3 aspect ratio). I'm starting to experiment with transcoding my TV recordings to AVI (Dixv or Xvid) to save them. The problem I'm having is that the resolution/aspect ratio changes when I do this.
According to Windows Media Player, my MPEGs are 640x480, but the AVI files come out at as 720x480. When I play these AVI files on my laptop, they do indeed look streched. I'm wondering is this supposed to happen? Do I need to mess with settings for ffmpeg to get this correct?
There have been two reports of xrecord causing severe stability problems to gbpvr systems (here and here). The only bizarre thing I have noticed in xrecord's design is that the fastfindplugin.dll is installed in two places. It is itself a plugin so it must live in the Plugins directory. It also provides services to the XGuide and XRecord plugins and those plugins won't start unless fastfindplugin.dll is in the gbpvr directory.
I noticed that the recording service seems to load the copy of fastfindplugin.dll in the gbpvr directory!?!?!? (can't delete it without stopping the recording service).
Other than refactoring fastfindplugin.dll into a fastfindutilities.dll + fastfindplugin.dll, how can the copy of fastfindplugin.dll in the gbpvr directory be avoided? How can the XRecord + XGuide plugins find the code in Plugins\fastfindplugin.dll instead?
I am trying to build a PVR on my old and slow PC so I figure I need some hardware assistance while playing the recordings...
Is this thing worth trying or should I get some other decoder card or just a TV-out card would be OK on Celeron 500 with 300MB RAM?
I have had the GB-PVR with my WinTV150 and Media MVP for a few months now and I've just noticed a new phenomenon. At least I'm pretty sure this has just started happening, but can't be sure that I just haven't noticed it until now.
Anyways, when I play back a recording or watch Live TV on my actual TV through the Media MVP, the video playback cuts off the sides of the picture. However, when I watch the actual video file with WMP it is the correct size and when I play it through GB-PVR on my computer, it is the correct size.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it would be cutting it off through the MVP?
I have verified using the screen position Plug In that everything is lined up correctly and the GB-PVR menus all fit correctly.
How do I get logging back for my PostProcessing.bat activity?
Can I just add the following at the end of my PostProcessing.bat?:
>> postprocessing.log
I was going to use the line out of the original postprocessing.bat file but don't understand the echo business and the extra stuff.
echo Postprocessing.bat invoked on %1 recorded from channel %2 >>postprocessing.log
