As requested by Ubu, here's some thoughts on what I had in mind for displaying images that may be associated with webstreams.
Attached are some notes and a screen dump, a NineMSNDynSource.exe that requires a modified dynsource.dll, and some extremely crudely modified GBPvrUIElementExmaple.cs (with associated dll and skin) to give an example of how the images might look/work.
NineMSNDynSource will scrape the images and cache them in dynsource\_images\NineMSN. This dysource may not work with UbuStream 2.0/2.1, but is fine standalone.
Haven't managed to get the popup concept working yet, sinceC# knowledge is next to zero. :o
Oh, I just remembered, you'll need to have a file c:\temp\a.jpg for this crude prototype.
Just built up a new system running Windows XP with a 2.4G Athalon, 512M memory.
I had this system previously running on Win2k and GBPVR sort of worked using an Hauupapauge Nova-S and an AVERMedia DVB-S Pro.
Now that I have put in a new hard drive with XP when I attempt recording wth either card, the CPU usage after about 30 sec goes up to 98%, and the whole system slows to a crawl and stops recording. The apps that came with the cards work fine.
I recently recorded an episode of Midsomer Murders on ITV1 (UK Freeview). The recording was on 27th of February between 1400 and 1500. The filesize is significantly smaller than the other episode and the first hour (according to the timeline in vlc) skips minutes at a time during normal playback. Has anyone else had similar problems? After the first hour (approx) it plays fine.

I am new to GBPVR. I installed a WinTV-PVR-150MCE in an IBM P4 3.2Gig with 2Gigs Ram running XP Sp2.
Originally I installed SageTV and everything worked just fine. When it came time to pay the $80.00 license fee I went in search of something cheaper to get me by until I upgrade to Vista. I was extatic when I found GBPVR.
My problem is that I get primarily greem pixels with a picture that looks a little like the original Predator in the jungle.
Anyone have a suggestion to get me a viewable picture?
A screen shot is attached.
I have a new hdhomerun. I am simply trying to get 4 QAM channels to work. I have followed whurlston2's directions, and am having no luck. I have the hdhomerun bda driver installed and they're utility. I have scanned and found my 4 qam channels that I want to work and they play through VLC fine. I have added the following to the bda.ini file
[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner XXXXXXXX-0]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner XXXXXXXX-0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1
Of course putting in the number of my box. I have created a hdhomerun_bda.remap file in the c:\ directory , in my file I have
90-1 2 qam256:621000000 90
This was found by doing a scan to text file, I made up the 90-1 but it found 90 on the scan. I have tried putting this file in the gbpvr directory as well.
I add the Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 1010F60C-0 in the BDA device configuration no problem. I put in the settings for my zap2it account which contains 68 channels from my analog cable. I click the Map digital channels to EPG channels button, it does a scan showing that it will scan68 channels, and it doesn't find anything. What am I doing wrong? Do I need another zap2it account for just these 4 channels? I am only trying to get 1 channel to work in my remap file for now. Does the bda driver know to look for the remap file in c:\ , I haven't seen anywhere where you can tell it where the file is. Shouldn't the scan find something even if my remap file is wrong, or not found. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Jim
Although the changes are minor, there's a couple of new features I've added, so I decided to start a new release thread...
Added backup for individual profiles
Basically when you are in a Transcode profile you want to backup, click 'more', you will see the 'Save Settings' button. Clicking this will create a 'reg.txt' file in your ZProcess folder, appropriately labled. If you wish to restore the settings, just rename the file to remove the appended '.txt' extension, so that it only ends with '.reg' and double-click the file to 'merge' the settings...
Added support for different MVPs profiles.
This may not be exactly intuitive, but here are the steps for creating a transcode profile for a specific MVP (That way you can have several MVPs and have them all using different settings - on the fly)
You should start with a working Trans2MVP profile (you can tweak later). This is the default profile that any 'unknown' MVP will use.
Be sure ZProcess is closed. On your MVP, start and then stop an AVI video... (On your server, ZProcess will have started and stopped a transcode, and also saved the MVP Mac address of your MVP)
Next, open ZProcess manually on the server. Click on the Transcode tab and more. Be sure that you've chosen the Trans2MVP profile.
At the bottom, in the more section, you will see the button 'Get Last MVP'. When you click that, youwill be asked if you want to copy the MVP Mac address of the last MVP that ZProcess worked for, into the Transcode Profile Combo Box. Click Yes...
Now, you can see your MVPs Specific Name. You can change your settings that you want to be specific to this MVP (including Aspect Ratio, or Preferred Transcoder.
Save your profile.
How it works...
When you start the MVP, and choose an AVI, on the server, ZProcess starts up and determines it's an MVP on-the-fly transcode. It gets the current MVP MAC address. It compares it to a list of saved profiles, and uses the matched Transcode profile. It then begins the transcode specific for that MVP.
If there is not a match, an 'unknown' MVP for example, ZProcess uses the Trans2MVP profile by default...
I do not have two MVPs. I believe that this should work for as many MVPs as you have. I wanna know your successes.
Also, having two or more transcodes at the same time has always been dependant on the beef of your server. In theory it should be possible. ZProcess should not stand in the way of you trying that out. I would love to hear your successes in this too...
Did anybody tape the oprah's building a dream I would like to download it for my wife. Truth is I didn;t get it recorded and will proably be in trouble.
Thanks Lynn
