  Time line and Comskip Problems
Posted by: cblee2 - 2007-02-20, 06:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have been having problems with the time line of some of my recordings. About half of the time they list a time line that is very inaccurate (an hour show showing that it is 7 minutes long). I am only able to fast forward to this point and then I have to watch it straight from then.

This is also having an effect with comskip. For the shows that have the wrong timeline, comskip shows commercials all being at the beginning of the recording. Comskip works fine for shows that have proper timeline.

I have wintv150 installed. Any help would be great.

ATI TV Wonder 650 Digital Issue
Posted by: jslane - 2007-02-20, 05:04 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (19)

I just replaced my PVR-150 with an ATI 650. I upgraded GB-PVR to the newest version at the same time with the hopes that the card was supported. I was excited that it was, but have encountered an issue I can't resolve.

The analog portion of the card works great in GB-PVR, but I just get static when I switch to one of the digital stations. I get good digital channels in the ATI software, and the preview screen in the upper right hand corner shows an image when I map the digital channels to the EPG. The tuning request fields have tuning information in them once I complete the mapping process. I assume the 'enabled' block should be checked for the same channel number in the analog capture device settings as well as the digital capture device settings since the digital channel will be mapped into the corresponding position in the EPG of the analog capture device.

When performing the config of the capture devices, the preview screen shows that the digital portion of the card is available and operational with live video in the window, but when GB-PVR runs, I see only analog channels. I can select the mapped channels and the descriptor for the digital channel shows up correctly, but as I said, there is only static.

Please help.

  Last resort! (sub please)
Posted by: Marine - 2007-02-20, 04:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I recently upgraded my GBPVR machine with mainly all new hardware although the pvr150 and the video cards are the same after installing the software as I did with my previous one for some odd reason I can hear the sound great but they video is a static black screen. I have research all the codec posibilites even downloading the GPL ones offer in this site but I still have the same problem. I'm not new to the GBPVR world but this is the first time i'm stuck with this situation and I don't know what to do. Is there anyone out-there who can solve this problem? I would appreciate it.

  Video "Play All" Option
Posted by: mvallevand - 2007-02-20, 03:55 AM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (1)

I was wondering how important the "Play All" option was for video files. I've had a lot of recent stability success with emulation changes for LiveTV and playing from the TV Guide, pretty much leaving this as the remaining GBPVR feature I cannot emulate. Before I attempt to fix this, I'd like to know how anyone is actually using the feature (on a semi-regular basis) to justify the time.

For those that are interested, the primary reason for my problem is the playback cache that mvpmc makes available can buffer 30 seconds of mpeg-1 video and which causes problems communicating when files really start and end. I don't want to change the buffer size because it can smooth the video playback.

Edit note: I've decided I'm going to implement this, once I can figure out how.

cant record and watch livetv at same time
Posted by: cosmicr - 2007-02-20, 03:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have 2 leadtek dtv1000t's. I have the one with the aerial connected to it, then the other with an aerial cable(2m long) from the first into it.

setting them up in gbpvr was relatively painless. it found both of them (after editing the ini), and each one had no problems getting full signal and picking up all the channels.

what my problem is - is when it is recording, it wont let me watch another program on livetv. it goes black for a little bit and then comes up with no signal, but both of the green bars are full. the recordings are fine and look great.

has anyone ever had this problem with two cards? what can I do?

GBPVR Crashes During Playback, Recording Continues
Posted by: uvaeeman - 2007-02-20, 01:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

Hi,

I'm getting (very) frequent program crashes during playback. At first I thought it was just happening during recording (of another show or the same show as we caught up) but it seems to happen all the time at random. It doesn't cause the recording service to die, thank goodness, but in a one hour show we probably have to restart GBPVR ~3 times. Any ideas what's wrong? I'm attaching the config.xml and the logs subdir. Thx!

  Hauppauge remotes stopped working today...
Posted by: reefboy - 2007-02-19, 10:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I performed the latest Windows updates this morning and noticed my Hauppauge remotes no longer function in GBPVR. I updated to the latest GBPVR from 98.13 hoping that would take care of it. No luck. I have the 45 button remote and tried my older 34 button remote as well with no luck. So it doesn't appear to be a problem with the remote itself.

Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be due to the windows update? If so where should I look to help trouble shoot his problem?

Local Channel Guide Information missing -- Directv
Posted by: firstblackboy - 2007-02-19, 08:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I am having an issue that I cannot find an answer to in the forums. I have GBPVR up and running and it works really well (thanks Sub!!), my only issue at the moment is that in the guide all the info for my local network channels is missing. I have read through and found that Zap2it lists them double in the normal range (2,4,7,9,31) and in the 900 range. I have unchecked the 900 range numbers and the channel numbers are correct in the guide, however there is no program information listed. I have removed the guide, reloaded the guide, checked and unchecked channels, etc. but to no avail. I still cannot get the program info to show up. The program info does show up for all the other channels just not those 5 and they are all national network channels.

I am on Directv. Any thoughts?

  SearchWiz - New Plugin
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2007-02-19, 07:52 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (12)

As my first attempt to create a plugin and skin, I've written SearchWiz.

Features:
- Search by program title or Description
- On PC, utilize both mouse and keyboard for navigation
- On MVP, phone-keys on remote or on-screen keyboard
- Schedule/Cancel selected program
- View live program
- Displays program image if exists in Media/Art directory

I've included the compiled code, skins and source code used.

** This is my first attempt at a GBPVR plug-in and first CSharp program. Any suggestion and/or comments are welcome. Wink
