SearchWiz - New Plugin
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2007-02-19, 07:52 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (175)

As my first attempt to create a plugin and skin, I've written SearchWiz.

Features:
- Search by program title or Description
- On PC, utilize both mouse and keyboard for navigation
- On MVP, phone-keys on remote or on-screen keyboard
- Schedule/Cancel selected program
- View live program
- Displays program image if exists in Media/Art directory

I've included the compiled code, skins and source code used.

** This is my first attempt at a GBPVR plug-in and first CSharp program. Any suggestion and/or comments are welcome. Wink

  Capture Card Advice
Posted by: systemshark - 2007-02-19, 07:05 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Folks,

I'm in the UK and I'm looking to replace my PVR350 card, I'm looking for a replacement card which is PCI based. (I've only got one spare slot in my machine so two cards is not an option...)

I'd like a dual receiver/tuner card of which one of the tuners support freeview natively. the other I'd like analogue (for connecting to my sky box).

I'm looking to undertake 2 recordings at the same time.

I've looked at the hauppauge website which is ok. and I'm thinking of a HVR1300 or the HVR1100 but I can't tell if it support dual recording or not....

Does anyone have either of these card or have a better idea......

  recordings in wmp?
Posted by: phatttty - 2007-02-19, 06:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I just upgraded to vista and have been playing around with both media center and gbpvr. When i record a show in gbpvr, the file size is now extraordinarily large and I am unable to play it back in wmp ? My first test of a 30 min show resulted in a 25 gig file? I never really used wmp before to try to play back the .mpgs but I could have sworn it worked before. I have a hauppage 350.

Adding channels manually – where to get details?
Posted by: Rene_1 - 2007-02-19, 06:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

Hi Together,

when doing a channel scan gbpvr does find all channels except of two. Now I want to add this two channels manually.

Channels already in the list contain settings like this:

ZDF logs (T:C,346000,6900,QAM64, 8~NID:62502~ONID:1~TSID:1079~P:28006~V:110~A:120~L:deu~PMT:100~TXT:130~N:>ZDF)

or

SAT.1 (T:C,466000,6900,QAM64, 8~NID:62502~ONID:133~TSID:33~P:46~V:1791~A:1792~L:deu~PMT:106~TXT:34~N:>SAT.1)

But I am not sure which of these are provider specific and / or if some of these settings are gbpvr specific. To be honest I really do not know what all this means.

I am using a dvb-c card. My cable provider is KabelBW (Germany).

One of the channels missing is in 458000, 6900, QAM64, the other on in 466000,6900, QAM64. Other channel also located in these ranges have caused no problems.

Maybe some of you can give me a little hint.

Regards
Rene

P.S.: I did a channel scan only for these frequencies and attached the log files of this scan.

P.S.S.: Just in case a German is reading this: The missing channels are called RTL and Pro7

crashes: System.InvalidOperationException: Object is currently in use elsewhere
Posted by: timeless - 2007-02-19, 06:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have been using the "X..." plugins, not sure if that is my problem. I keep getting crashes in the program but the recording service seems to be ok. Here is the last chunk of my log:

2/19/2007 12:49:33 PM.984 ERROR [10] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.InvalidOperationException: Object is currently in use elsewhere.

at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

there are several
Unable to find node: /settings/Navigation/NavigationElement[@name="***"]
(where *** is Movies, etc.) but read here those aren't a big deal?

Thanks for any help, I can't seem to find this error anywhere (System.InvalidOperationException: Object is currently in use elsewhere)

  recording service crashing
Posted by: Koenie - 2007-02-19, 06:03 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (8)

Hi,

I posted earlier today in the support forum http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post177558
that my recording service was crashing (logs attached there). Stupidly I did not see the fault myself:

18-2-2007 15:30:36.786 ERROR [2] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at Tortuga.Rss.Finalize()

TortugaDN.dll is part of the EWA. Can this be the reason for the crashes. I have in the mean time deleted and reisnstalled the EWA (version 57) and did not have any more crashes for the last few hours (definitely too short to conclude).

  OTA ATSC PVR solution
Posted by: stoenjes - 2007-02-19, 05:46 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (15)

I have been using a Hauppauge PVR 250 for several years with analog cable, along with GB-PVR (v0.99.5), primarily viewed with the MVP. I want to add OTA ATSC recording (“24” and “Heroes” are on at the same time here) - already have a HDTV and a big antenna pointing at Cheyenne Mt for a strong signal. Understand that ATSC recordings need to be converted/transcoded before the MVP can show it.

My question is, what are the pros and cons of these ATSC recording devices? Don’t really care about their analog side, just the ATSC side working with GB-PVR. I know about these three:

- Hauppauge HVR-950: USB, $60 at Circuit City this week; Hauppauge says I have to uninstall the PVR 250 before I install this, but I assume they mean WinTV2000.

- Hauppauge HVR 1600: PCI, $100, spotty reviews (Zeus and dgeezer’s exchanges here); one PCI slot left, but would rather not use it.

- Autumnwave OnAir GT: USB, $179, strong support from the company (Ryan Pertusio)

Thanks,

Does anyone still have the MyPrograms 3.0b1 installer? I recently reformatted my hd and now myprogams isnt to be found anywhere. I really would like to use myprograms again since gamezone doesnt support Nes games or regular applications yet. Let me know if you can send me a copy. I would really appreciate it.

-EDIT-----
I found it. Nevermind.

  Saving settings & channels
Posted by: bourned - 2007-02-19, 03:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I use GB-PVR on my laptop with a USB PCTV. I travel a lot and use it in a number of different locations.
Is there any way to save you channels and settings for each location so that when you return you can just load them up, rather than having to go through a channel scan each time?
Thanks...
