I probably took a short cut that I shouldn't have. On installation, I only downloaded drivers. I did not go through the installation of the MCE software.
I have two sources configured one as no. 1 and one as no2. I ran the EPG for both. When I try to play Live TV on both the PC and MPG at the same time, the one on MVP is dark. It appears to change channels on demand but no picture.
Do I have to go through the installation of Hauppauge's MCE in order to get both working? Are there better driverws somewhere tht might resolve the problem?
When I go to Add and Remove software, I can find four files that I think are associated with these tuners. To are MSXML 4.0 files with different numbers of bytes. One is a MSXNL 6.0 Parser and one is a nanoPEG.Editor 2.3
Attached are the logs

After I posted this, I did the reverse of before. I started the video on MVP before starting GBPVR. Do it that way, I was able to get a different channel showing on the two. Previously I had GBPVR showing the video first and then started MVP. All I got was darknes on MVP. You figure! Any bets whether this portends a problem/conflict with recording?
GB-PVR has been working fine recording multiple programs but the last few days nothing seems to record correctly. Just tested again, recording 2 programs at 20:00 and the recording service locks up at 19:58 and dies requiring a reboot! Any help is appreciated, logs attached.
I have read in the forums that the transcoding (auto convert) takes place after the show is done or at a scheduled time. If you are running ComSkip, does it transcode the original recorded file or the edited one without the commercials?
Has anyone got Vista working with the MVP? GBPVR seems to run OK at the computer and the MVP connects to the server no problem but the MVP only takes two button presses before it freezes and then re-looks for a server. The error log shows the MVP taking too long to respond. My network seems OK and ping times to the MVP average 0ms.
Wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to start a new sub-forum for Vista issues as Vista is not an optional item given that new machines will come with it loaded. It may help sub, too, if the Vista issues were confined rather than spread all over. Just a thought. Wot you think??
Since downloading GBPVR and installing i have come across a problem. It doesn't seem to recognise my graphics card. Its a ASUS 3000 and is made by ATI Industries. ATI products are listed in the drop down menu in the tuning assistant, but none of these work. ASUS isn't even listed. Is there any way i can get round it?
My goal is simple: upgrade the processing power of the PVR PC to speed up the user interface, but retain the PVR-350 for video quality.
My Celeron 400 with 256MB of RAM is functional but some aspects of the GUI are slow. I don't plan to go to a software decoder solution though I am toying with the idea of upgrading the system as if I were, just in case.
Would a Pentium-III 1GHz provide enough thrust to make the GUI response reasonable with a PVR-350 doing the heavy lifting?
I was thinking a P4 solution (2+ GHz) would be a good performance benchmark for software decoding, if I ever wanted it.
The poll is: what is compatible with the PVR-350? Intel 845 chipset? My Celeron has an i810 and it seems "compatible." Has anyone had any trouble with the PVR-350 with an Intel chipset-based motherboard (P3 or 4)?
I've searched but cannot find my specific question.
Can I load GB-PVR onto a machine without a PVR, pull up the TVGuide, click on "watch now" and have GB-PVR blast the appropriate channel out my USB-UIRT and have it change the channel on my satellite receiver?
I understand I could try this myself, but I think this would require me to pull my WinTV from another PC, install it in this PC, load the drivers, load the Hauppauge IR blaster, then put the card back into the original machine (ir blaster won't load on my machine unless it sees the wintv drivers and the wintv drivers won't install without the wintv card.) Too much to "see if it works".
I have been running my GBPVR system for 9 or 10 months now and suddenly any live TV (audio and Video) it choppy. A restart does not solve it. A defrag does not solve it. Anyone know what I can do?
