I went through the configuration and set up a zap2it account. In configuration it shows the EGP channels from zap2it. In GB-PVR when I click on either Guide or live tv it gives me an error saying
"No channels have been set up. Please run the configuration utility and setup the EGP source. Use the update EGP button to force the system to import the latest set of channel and programme information."
I then went back to configuration and hit update egp but it still won't let me view channels. Am I missing something?
Since there is interest in me developing this skin further, I went ahead and made it an official 1.0 release and included a BlueMCE2 theme.
I still need to write an installer and develop more themes. Adding plugins will be much slower for this version, but I will make an attempt for every request.
The 4:3 version will need to be installed for the SkinPlugin functionality.
Next plugin to be added is MusicPlayer.
I will probably change the way the 4:3 version is packaged, and the SkinPlugin, to make updates easier without downloading the whole thing again and again.
The Fusion HDTV software can respond to imported TVPI files (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TVPI). When a recording command is imported, the Fusion software stays minimized and the recorded .mpg or .tp is placed in the recordings directory. The recording can be stopped by closing the Fusion application (which can also be automated in various ways).
It should not be very difficult to use these features to enable QAM recording in GBPVR with the Fusion cards, and I intend to do this, but there is one problem. When FusionHDTV records an analog channel, the resulting MPG file is readable by GBPVR during recording, and the length of the recording even updates in real time as the show records, just like any other GBPVR recording, which is great. But, this does not work for digital recordings, and GBPVR is unable to read the output .mpg file until the recording stops in Fusion.
The error log shows this:
12:35:32.703 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playVideoFile(C:\DVR-RECORDINGS\2007-02-04(Sun)PM1235-CHD112.mpg)
12:35:32.703 VERBOSE File already in use - probably still recording
12:35:32.703 VERBOSE waited: 0 (0 - 1170610532) filesize: 0
.....
12:35:43.968 VERBOSE waited: 11 (0 - 1170610543) filesize: 0
12:35:44.062 ERROR DirectShowHelperVMR9::playFile() - Waited ten seconds, and file size is still zero!!!
So it appears that the Fusion app opens digital recording files for exclusive access but not analog ones. And apparently Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic also use exclusive access because they can't read the .mpg's for Fusion's analog recordings while GBPVR can.
Anyone have any ideas around this? I'm going to try editing the fusion binary to change the parameters of all CreateFile calls to allow shared file access, but first I gotta find the right tools to even do that. If anyone already has a good disassembler/re-assembler, maybe give that a shot?
I have Config set to auto-convert my dvr-ms recordings to mpeg-2 ASAP. A week or so ago I was experimenting with different Cyberlink mux versions on my system and since then (I think) the auto-conversion has been failing. The log says that it can't find a mux filter. Here's how it looks when I run it manually
Code:
17:34:47.884 INFO Log started

But this is what I see if I use the BDA mux checker.
Code:
GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:
Found: ATI MPEG Multiplexer
FILE: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\atidvcr.dll
VERSION: 9.12.0.60312
Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: c:\windows\system32\MpgMux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.0727
I've unregistered and re-registered the mux but no improvement. Any ideas.
sometimes, on my recordings, i get a wrong timing mpeg file, especially on long recordings.
for example - recording of 1.5 hour, is shown as 19 minutes. ihave alot of problems on skipping forward and backwards (cause what is shown as 19 minutes, is actually 1.5 hours), editing and encoding to xvid.
I've found database queries in XRecord suite that use syntax like:
select top 10 * from ...
SQLite seems to want this syntax:
select * from ... limit 10
Is there a syntax to accomplish this that can work for both SQLite and Access? If not, from within a plugin how can I ask gbpvr which database is currently in use? That way I can use the correct syntax for the current database.
I have had MVP running for about a week. Recently, a problem has developed changing channels. When I attempt to change channels , either by using the channel up/down button, or keying in a number, after a long delay, I get a brief flash of the channel that I am changing to, then the GBPVR menu page comes up. Live TV is highlighted, and after I hit the OK key a few times, the channel that I am changing to appears. This is a new development. It worked OK before.
I have no problem changing channels on my PC, and the delay is definitely shorter. However this difference could be the MVP overhead.
1- Fastforward works find with keyboard letter 'f'.
Reverse does not work.
Thought it was 'r' but not working, even with CtrL or whatever.
Is this changed from previous versions?
What file lists and defines the keyboard mappings?
2- Another question:
When I check "Treat numbers as cellphone keypad" in the config, I can use it to enter searches in YouTube, but how to do back space?
'0' does space-bar (forward space)
but nothing can do backspace?
Maybe I should bind 'backspace' with some remote command in Girder?
Is this the only way?
