HI,
Just wondering if any can help, when I watch a recorded show, every now and then it jerks, Like theres a frame thats been dropped, anyone had this problem?
I have tried playing through windows media player and its the same
my settings are as follows
Hardward decorder device :- None- use software decoder
it does give me the option of using :- pvr 350 or sigma designs x card, but I have`nt got these in my pc
Software MPEG-2 Playback:-Video decorder - system default
it gives me the option of using cyberlink

I have got a nvidia geforce 6600gt, should this be showing in the lists?
Hello,
Ive just installed GB PVR for the first time, im using a Freecom DVB-T Usb stick, which GBPVR autodetects (I have installed the BDA drivers from Freecom).
I have successfully performed the channel scan and epg update, however whenever I try to watch the Live tv option, I get an error message saying :
'Error attepmted to divide by zero'
I have tried scrolling through the zillions of pages on this forum to see if it has already cropped up but couldnt seem to find it.
Can anybody help?
Thanks very much,
Mark thetastychippy@yahoo.co.uk
Given the importance of GBPVR for our state of happyness and the effort having to re-install I am considering some measures to increase to robustness of our recording server.
One option is to convert the System Parition (about 6GByte) into a software based RAID 1 using a small partition on another disk.
By having the two mirrorred disk on separate IDE channel (yes, I am cheap) the performance impact should be acceptable.
The system is on 24/7 and it supports SW raid by default.
I tried the migration with an old shadow copy of the system disk on a spare PC and it takes less then one hour to do the conversion. Rather straightforward.
The main reason for not doing this is because the disk migration software I know of (maxblast) can not handle dynamic disks so I am stuck with the partition size, or will I be able to extend the partition in a decent way?
Or I could try to find some way to monitor the SMART info from the system disk and have me send a mail when it is in bad shape so I have still time to migrate to another disk.
On my recommendation, a friend purchased an ATI TV Wonder 550 at the same time that I purchased mine. His problem is he can't record with GB-PVR
but "live tv" works just fine. His recording service will make a folder for the program but the folder will be empty after the scheduled program has supposedly recorded. GB-PVR indicates that it is recording when it is scheduled to but no file is in the folder. He is running the following hardware:
1. Foxconn mobo with VIA chipset.
2. Sempron 2500 socket A cpu.
3. 512 MB PC 2700 ram.
4. Radeon 9250 VIVO graphics card.
5. Onboard AC 97 audio.
6. IDE 80 GIG hard drive (master) IDE 80 GIG hard drive (slave).
I cannot playback recordings/see liveTV, the screen just blink once or the mvp restart.
Here is the error message in the log:
23/1/2007 23:12:54.562 ERROR [11] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="ForegroundTransparency"]
When I first fire up GBPVR it works great for about 5 to 10 seconds with CPU at 25 to 30%. Then CPU usage drops to 0 to 5% for gbpvr.exe, with system idle at 95+%, and video becomes basically a still frame with occasional annoying squeaks in audio. Then after about 10 or 15 seconds, gbpvr.exe CPU usage rises to 25 to 30% and picture and sound is great. And again, after 5 or 10 seconds, CPU usage for gbpvr.exe drops again... and cycle goes on. It's almost like the computer just quits running GBPVR for a few seconds, then starts it back up, then stops it, etc.
Is this indicative of a common settings mistake? I have re-loaded WinXP 3 or 4 times, am using most recent drivers for MB, cards, etc. I know it sounds like a codec issue, but does the cpu usage drop like that for a codec problem? It seems to me the cpu usage should spike for codec issues.
My system is Athlon 64 3500+, Asus A8V-MX motherboard, 1 gig RAM, ATI All-in-Wonder 9800 video card (only used for component out, not as TV tuner), ATI Theater 550 Pro, and ATI HDTV Wonder. I have ATI multimedia center installed, so I know I have what should be the best codecs (Cyberlink) for these cards (although I have tried others, including Elecard, Intervideo, and DScaler).
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this has been answered before.
I have installed GBPVR onto my pc and its fantastic, and I really want to put it onto my TV in the living room (My PC is in the bed room), I`am considering buying the bits and making a media centre just for the front room, Is there another option? Like the philips streamium? where you can stream from the pc to a box in the front room. If so whats the best hardware to buy.
Within my video library i have 2 folders, one with the kids stuff and one with mine.
Is there any way to password protect the "adult" folder whilst allowing free access to the kids.
In my never ending quest to solve my stuttering problem i've installed Gspot and it tells me that the driver file for GB-PVR Parser is missing. Is this normal? It also says i'm missing files for Deinterlace filter and Nero Digital AVC Video Enc.
