When I start up gb-pvr, it works fine with the guide on my television (second screen) and whatever else was up on my computer screen. The problem comes when I open the guide and select a channel, or just choose live TV.
When I start watching it live (or recorded) the full screen shows up on the TV like it should, but the live feed takes over my computer monitor too. The strange thing is that if the TV has a small guide at the bottom open during live, it doesn't show up on the computer, just the feed.
I have a dual monitor setup and a HVR-1600. The cable goes into the 1600, then I have a s-video cord to the TV and dvi to the monitor out of my video card. I set the gbpvr preferences on the general page to start on the second monitor, but it still takes over my computer with Live TV.
Hello, Recently I formated my hard drive and instead of reinstalling Windows Media Center Edition, I installed Windows XP Professional SP2.
I have a Microsoft Media Center Edition Version 2 remote.
I then downloaded GB-PVR and would like to get my remote to work fully with GB-PVR. So far the remote works great except for the fact that I can't launch GB-PVR when I press the green button. An additional plus would be being able to access the F7 function with the remote.
I read the guide and searched the forums and have been having no luck with getting HIP to work with my remote. After hours of trying, I still can't figure out the HIP program. BTW, I did install the reccomended drivers, I just can't figure out the program. However, I do feel confident that I can import a configuration file. So here goes...does anyone have a Hip configuration file they could send me for my remote?
BTW, I love the program and am very happy. Thank you very much for everyone who has spent so much time working on this project.
Ive got the 550 ATI personal PVR package which I think is based on the same 550 Pro design.
All Ive done is install the card , catalyst drivers and GBPVR.
When setting it up under capture sources you specify the 550 Pro but other than that under EPG source/recording source ---- I dont see much else to set up in regards to the card.
Under playback theres USE SOFTWARE DECODER
Under SOFTWARE MPEG2 playback theres NERO or System default
thats it.
Im getting 30-50% CPU usage when I check just watching LIVE TV mode and
when there is motion I see interlacing lines many times.
I tried ChrisTV Professional and I dont get the interlacing lines, the picture looks slightly better in general and the CPU usage is around 7-15%. Theres also a selection under playback --- 550 pro decoder.
Ive combed through the config program options. Am I missing something?
Using a nforce 3 --- 3200 AMD system with WIN XP pro and 9600 Radeon card on this system with VRM9 chosen. Ive tried the others too.
Hey sub, first off I'd like to vociferously thank you for v99.5. The major improvement for me personally is ability to edit post-padding for current recordings. This is a huge benefit during sporting events that run over EPG times. There are a few other additions that seem to make a big difference in my regular usage (Overlay mode aspect ratio, Recordings skin change). Many thanks!
The RecordingService crashes I've seen are unrelated to v.99; they've occurred since I started using GB-PVR v.96, but they are starting to really impact my timeshifts.
I am nearly positive that my crashes are due to recording a borderline ATSC channel that drops out. This screws up all current recordings on different tuners as well as future recordings until I manually restart the RecordingService.
I don't expect GB-PVR to fix a nonexistant data stream but I hope the RecordingService could fail a bit more gracefully by terminating the recording from the questionable channel, while preserving simultaneous stable recordings and future timed events.
The attached logs reveal one such RecordingService crash. The unstable recording starts on 14 Jan 2007 @ 19:00:00 (Kung Fu, channel label 47.1); see GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native-1.log. The signal stats are never better than (1,0,75,75) and jump around quite a bit.
We noticed a Windows Dr. Watson alert at approximately 19:42 which coincides with the end of the <>-native-1.log and a signal dropoff. I restarted the RecordingService approximately 19:45 which is indicated in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log, and I manually terminate the questionable Kung Fu recording about 19:46:48.
Is this information enough to go on? Thanks for any help you can provide.
I'm pretty new to the whole PVR scene, and while I'm generally pretty good with computers, I haven't been able figure out how to convert my dvr-ms files to another format for burning to a dvd. I noticed a transcode button on the GB-PVR, but when I push it, nothing happens.
On a side note, will my recordings with GB-PVR be dvr-ms or mpeg2(I did set it to auto-convert dvr-ms to mpeg2, but that doesn't seem to be working)
Help please!
When I try make changes in GB-PVR config; i get the following error msg

I'm trying to install GB-PVR on my Intel dual core 64bit pc, OS is XP 32bit.
Half way through install on updating components I get " internal error 2908 {a31ffc4c-7a78-4b48-b816-571be429ecb9}
If I click on ok it carries on installing till I get Error 1935 an error occoured during the installation of assembly 'wmppia,version="9.0.0.3095",Publickey token="31bf3856ad364e35",Culture="neutral",guid="6bf52a50-394a-11d3-b153-00c04f79faa6"
The file it is installing at the point of error is mceIr.dll
Capture card is Hauppauge hvr 1300 Wintv2k installs ok and GB-PVR installs on another 32bit pc that unfortunatly doesn't have any spare pci slots for the capture card
Does this mean GB-PVR won't install on a 64bit pc?
When I'm playing a DVD, I'm unable to skip forwards or backwards. I've tried it on my remote,, on the keyboard and with the OSD. No clue what the problem is. The navigator is set to DVD Navigator and the decoder is set to CyberLink Video Decoder/SP Decoder (PDVD7). Remote is set as Default and it's configured to/I'm using the Hauppauge 45 button remote that came with my PVR150. Any clues? Thanks in advance.
When calling "DatabaseHelperFactory.getDbConnectionString()" from the client side, it always returns the connection string to the local database - not to the server database.
Is it supposed to be like this or will that be corrected in a future version?
Or is there an easier way to read out the connection string on the server side than manually looking in "\\server\gbpvr\config.xml"?
