Is it possible to make the EWA run on Tomcat? I saw the instructions to do this with Apache HTTP server, but I was hoping I go do something similar with Tomcat. Any ideas?
OK, I have downloaded and configured GBPVR and want to control coolsat 5000 sat receiver with the ir blaster that came with my 150 (MCE version with MCE remote and usb beanbag(shows up as ehome ir device in device manager)). Everything is working like a charm, I have live TV, music, etc. However, I am really stuck on blasting to the receiver. I have read many, many posts and while the forum and wiki is a wealth of knowledge, it can be overwhelming to newbies. Is the beanbag I got with my 150(MCE version) happauge hardware or microsoft? Will installing IR Blaster setup program from the happauge site work? I should note that the remote and blaster works fine in MCE with the coolsat, so the hardware is working. The remote works fine in navigating GBPVR menus, just can't blast either by changing the channel on the remote or with the mouse on the menu.
I just don't understand the relationship between GBPVR, the 150mce and the blaster. Any help would be appreciated.
My goal is to simply have GBPVR change the channel on my STB
I spent about 4 hours of research on the forums/hip and elsewhere and decided to post. If there is a stickey or guide with my questions answered somewhere my apologies and could someone point me in the right direction.
I have GBPVR running pretty well. My last hurdle is getting the MCE remote I have change channels on my Comcast STB.
My equipment:
PVR150 - not the MCE version
MCE2005 Remote Version 2 Purchased seperately
Comcast STB (Motorola HD Box)
My big question is:
Do I need to use HIP or can I use the MCE 2005 Blaster Plugin? What is the best practice?
My first goal is to simply have GBPVR change the channel on my STB
I first set the channel changer to MCE 2005 Blaster Plug in and learned the comcast remote with no problem. I set the blaster to 1 and 2. No dice changing the STB.
Is there a light that is supposed to light up on the IR emitter to show it is working? I see the one on the IR receiver light up but not on the emitter.
The remote works fine controlling windows and I have the blaster over the sensor window.
I have just had to reinstall windows, and it has been put onto f: rather than e:
I have a backup of my old system (using norton ghost) so have all the old files at hand that can be restored to the new system disk.
However, I have tried restoring the gbpvr dir to the new Program Files directory, and running a reinstall using 'repair', but I get errors when trying to run GBPVR.
Is it possible to do what I am trying to ? If so, how do I do it ?
I have tried doing a clean instal, but I want to maintain all my old channel mappings, settings, recording etc -and I had it just how I liked it before the reinstall of windows!
I have an ATI Radeon 9600 256Mb DDR and the fan on it as the loudest fan in my system, can you buy a quieter fan for a video card?? A friend of mine suggested to make my system water cooled......Ahhhhh.......I don't think I wan't water in my PVR.....
I have a recording that shows as failed in GB-PVR. The file actually recorded fine as I can watch it in WMP. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to change the status to "Available" so I can play it from within GB-PVR.
One of the things that I like best about my Dish Network receivers and DVRs is that I can setup multiple favorites lists. One for All Channels, One for just Premium Movie CHannles, one ofr Just Broadcast networks, One for My Favorites, One for My Wifes Favorites, etc. You give each favorites list a name and choose which channels you want in it.
While viewing the guide each new press of the guide button will take you to the next favorites list. When you enter the guide it remembers what the last favorites list was that you displayed and starts with that.
I really miss this feature when using GBPVR.
In a similar fashion I would like some way to press the guide button while watching TV and bring up the full screen guide rather than the mini guide. Perhaps one press brings up the mini guide an the next takes ya to the full screen guide.
