Father Christmas has delivered a new Panasonic Viera 42" plasma (TH-42PV60A) and it looks great except for one problem area. When viewing the GBPVR menu, and jpg images from the Photo Library, via the MVP I get vertical lines uniformly spread across the whole screen. There are about a dozen vertical 'lines' 3 pixels wide then a clearer patch about 10mm wide before the pattern repeats. These 'lines' are more a slightly brighter intensity rather than black. It really ruins the look of the images which would otherwise be magnificent.
This pattern exists both with svideo and composite output. Movies (mpgs) are excellent, not showing this problem at all.

Like the title says, I wish for a font style that will automatically shadow the text. If DrawTextWithOutline can be done, I'm hoping a shadow can be also.
Yes..., I know the work around by displaying it twice with the first slightly offset to make it appear to have a shadow (i've used that a ton in my past skins), but for alot of text, this cannot be done because some elements don't explicitly call text styles (Timeperiods, SelectedProgrammeTitle, SelectedProgrammeDesc, etc).
Maybe something that can be defined in baseskin.xml like:
[DrawTextWithShadow Name="shadow1" ForegroundColor="White" BackgroundColor="Black" Offset="1,1"]
- Name can be referenced to text in other skin files by using "textStyle="
- Foreground/Background colors are self explanatory
- Offset is shadow offset (in pixels). 1,1 would be a offset down and to the right. Negative values could be used to shift shadow up and left.
Is it possible to set up a recording profile for a hauppauge pvr 150 mce so that i can get it to record audio only from my SKY box's radio channels.
I've looked at the settings page in the capture tab but i can only reduce the video recording bitrate to 1500kbps.
I am planning to switch to HD Tv later this year. I must use a setup box. Is there any tuner card/capture device that can accept input in HD (through HDMI or component cable) that works with GBPvr?
I have a Dvico fusion dual digital pci card and I can make it work.
It's working fine with MediaPortal or it's native software (ver 3.41).
On GBPVR the card is detected but it says that the signal streangth is 0% and no channels detected.
Not a big problem because I rarely use Live TV from the PC... just would like to know the cause. This all started when I updated the PVR-150 driver to 24073 while running 98.13. The problem continues after I upgraded to PVR-150 driver 24108 following all of the directions found @ shspvr.com (only had to re-run hwclear about a million times per the instructions :-) I upgraded to 99.05 thinking that an upgrade might straighten things out but alas... no luck.
The Problem:
a) Live TV from my PC gives me Audio ONLY... the window within the gbpvr app stays blank and does not display any video... audio sounds fine and channel changes and other controls appear to work (but I can't see them).
b) Playback of recorded video to the PC does just fine (audio and video)
c) Live TV and Playback of video via my MVP does just fine (audio and video)
Current Configuration
a) PVR-150 w/ driver 24108
b) gbpvr 99.05 running sqlite database
In "Live TV" the gb-pvr in client hangs after change the channels 3 - 4 times, no problems at the server side.
Server continure to write to ring buffer file.
Any ideas?
I have a bought and registered a copy of the ELECARD MPEG Player. It works OK and doesn't show the register message. However in GBPVR I have marked Elecard as the video decoder for MPEG-2 playback and when I try to watch Live TV it shows the "please register" message and logo.
I was exited to try out UbuStream, and see if I could stream IP-TV to my TV-set. But I'm was stucked at the very start, as I'm not able to get the installed Plug-in to show up in the "Plug-in" tab in the Config-program.
Any idea how to debug this ??
I have un- and re-installed GB-PVR in order to avoid old-stuff, but no difference.
