Does anyone have dat files on the explorer IR blaster codes for use with gbpvr and USB-UIRT?
it lookes like all the Scientific Atlanta Explorer boxes use the same blaster codes.
Willing to bet no one has seen this problem before, it's truly bizarre!
The problem is playback of recordings off one channel only (BBC 1, set as channel 1 on my setup). What happens is that it seems to record just fine, and indeed while it's recording I can FF/RW within the file or pause it with no problems watching parts of it.
However, once the recording is finished something strange seems to happen to the file created, meaning that I can only FF or RW within the first 2 mins of the file. If I try to skip past about the 2 min mark, the file looks like it's still playing ie progress bar scrolls, HD seems to be accessing etc, but the picture freezes and the audio stops.
Jumping back through the file to within the first 2 mins means it starts playing again and usually I can let it run just fine to the end of the program, as long as I don't touch the pause, FF or RW buttons. Exactly the same behaviour is exhibited trying to playback in MP10 suggesting its a problem with the recording itself rather than the playback. And just to make it even odder, it only happens on this one channel.
I've tried turning off comskip for the channel but that didn't make a difference, and that was my one and only idea! Any help much appreciated as always. Logs attached with problem exhibited in the most recent file played "Friday night with Jonathan Ross"
I'm using v0.97.13 and my issue is when I try manual record, the session does not instantly start, it shows pending. My signal is inputed through my settop cable box, which is connected to my pc by svideo, so whatever is showing on my tv is what I'll be recording.
Lets say there is a show that I tuned in on 30 minutes in and I wanted to record at the present point of the show, when I go to manual record, It doesn't start immediately, but is pending until the next show starts.
Ex. If I try to manually record show A, which started at 7:00pm and my current time is 7:45pm, GB won't start recording show A, but shows a pending recording session of show B which starts at 8:00pm
This issue with manual record is very important being that most of my recording would be shows that I have saved on my dvr that I want to get to my pc.
I find that certain shows never have a subtitle and that makes it hard to tell them apart as all I have to go on is the date they were recorded on. I would like to be able to enter my own subtitle and/or descriptions for my recordings.
What I am doing right now is making a copy of the mpg file and then deleting the original through Web Admin. Then I change the name of the copied file back to the original and then import it through an xml file and put the subtitle and/or description in there.
Just an note for anyone looking for wireless, Fry's had a new type of Belkin 54g bridge/extender/AP for $30. I personally use a Belkin 54g (router) as a bridge very successfully with an MVP. I wouldn't waste the money on a wireless version, I will also be using to connect a game system.
I am looking (with a half eye) at Digital Cable possibilities....
Unfortunately, here in the Netherlands all DVB-C is encrypted. I am therefore looking at the options for GBPVR / BDA combinations with CI/CAM support...
I have, sofar, found two options:
The FireDTV/FloppyDTV solution (which should work, according to a post in the Wishlist forum), and the TechnoTrend Budget line...
When comparing these two, the budget line is substantially cheaper (70 Euro as compared to 150 Euro), and the price of the CAM and the smartcard remains the same..
For this reason, I have a strong preference for the TechnoTrend solution...
I've had a look at the MediaPortal source-code, and I have isolated the C# code they use for decryption of the encoded channels (on TechnoTrend hw). I think it would be feasible to implement this code somewhere....
Now, I am investigating what options there are to bring this into GBPVR... I can see two possible solutions:
1. Write a Recording plugin (as the ubustream / software recorder)
2. Hook in to channel-changing
I am just wondering (remeber, I'm still not sure I will do this, I mght just go ahead and buy a FireDTV or drop DBV-C alltogether), what the best way would be....
Can anyone comment on these options, and is it possible to hook into channel-changing (with something other then an external channel-changer)?
For channel-changing it would be preferred to "hook onto" channel-changing (or receive an event when a channel has changed).....
Also, I've never dabbled with DirectShow, so I don't have a clue how hard it is to write sime code that set up the required filters....
Is it (post title) possible? I did do some searching and read through the wiki but dident find anything for this kinda thing. The reason I ask is, hmm well let me give you an overview of my mess.

I have been able to set it up so that gb-pvr can control and record from the digital cable box. How ever I also need to occasionally record shows using the dvd recorder (third party, long story ).
I would like to set it up so that the gb-pvr will record the shows I want. Then change the channel on the cable box to the right channel for a set time block to let the dvd recorder (pre-programed to start at such and such a time) record the right show. And then let gb-pvr continue recording my shows etc. A plus would be having it show in the scheduler so I can stop any conflicts before hand.
I suppose I could just record it to the computer and burn it to dvd from there but to be honest I am a bit short on disc space and adding their recordings to mine will pretty much send me into negative disc space:eek: .
