I am fairly new to the whole EWA, but now I have it set up and its really cool. I can now stream my music and videos but I would also like to view my pictures. Is there anyway I can do this, There is no tab for it in the gui and I can not find anything searching the forum.
I've released a beta version of UbuStream v2.0. You can read about it and download it in this thread in the UbuStream and EPGExtra plugin support sub-forum.
It's a complete re-write and has lots of new and exciting features. If you are intrigued (or just masochistic) you can help me test it so I can release a stable version ASAP. It seems pretty solid. What have you got to lose? (Especially if you make a backup first ).
So (finally) here's the beta version of UbuStream v2.0. It's a complete re-write. Very little of the original v1.5 code remains. I've tested it fairly well but, since I've introduced a lot of new functionality, there's probably some "undocumented" features still in there. So I'd be grateful if y'all could hammer it a bit, if you have the time, so I can release a stable version fairly soon.
New features include:
Station "groups" for organizing your media links. You can move backwards and forwards through the groups using buttons on the main UbuStream screen to filter the stations you see listed.
The station database is continuously refreshed while UbuStream is running so any changes you make using the config program (or directly to the UbuStream.xml file) will show up immediately, without you having to exit GB-PVR in order to pick up the changes.
Improved usability features include hiding the player when playing Audio streams, a Stop button to kill players that won't close, a Delete button that let's you remove stations from the database without having to exit GB-PVR to use the config program, a new "integrated" web browser for viewing station schedule web pages via the WebSite button and some other stuff I can't remember now.
Ability to import stations from standard M3U or PLS playlist files. Should be compatible with other web media apps.
Automatic download of stations and groups from Dinki's Worldwide Media Project web site. Media links from your custom MyTV and MyRadio playlists can be imported in "real time", either by using an AutoSynch button from the GB-PVR screen to initiate a request or automatically when UbuStream starts up.
Integration with Dynamic Source "mini-plugin" applications to automatically download media links from web sites containing "on-demand" video/audio streams. The applications "scrape" content from the web sites and publish it as UbuStream stations and groups. The downloads can be triggered via the AutoSynch button or executed automatically when UbuStream starts up. (I've included some so you can try it out: CNN by HTPCGB, Uitzendinggemist by Remco and my own attempts: BBC, Mosaic and DemocracyNow.)
The WWMP and Dynamic Source download/import processing is run as a background task. So you should (in theory) be able to continue using GB-PVR/UbuStream while it is running and new stations will just "magically" start to appear as each import completes.
The UbuStream config app is easier to use and packed with handy features. As a convenience, to avoid having to load the GB-PVR config app in order to access the UbuStream config app, a new executable, UbuStreamConfig.exe, is provided that fires up the config window directly. (You still have to use the GB-PVR config app to ensure that the plugin appears on the GB-PVR menu and for setting up UbuStream for use in channel mode with ExternalRecorder.
Installing the new version:
Download the attached zip file and copy the setup program it contains into your GB-PVR directory. Run it. It does a "destructive" install, overwriting any existing UbuStream components. It will convert an existing UbuStream.xml file to the new format but it's probably smart to make a backup before running the setup program.
I have a Hauppauge PVR-250 with the newest drivers installed from their website on a computer with Windows XP installed and updated. I have digital cable, but I run a splitter - one to my cable box and one to my computer. I installed the GBPVR v0.98.13b about 2 weeks ago. I should mention that I love the program; it's fantastic. I don't get any digital cable channels (understandably), but I got up to about channel 65. I set up the GB-PVR recorder to record a few of my favorite programs, and all was well.
Suddenly, about a week later, the live television stopped working. All of the channels just displayed a jumbled grey static image (I attached a screenshot). I'm still getting audio on some channels, but the video is all fuzz. I thought maybe my cable provider had upgraded to some sort of cable scrambling, but my WinTV2000 works absolutely fine. This computer is just a media box, so I had made no upgrades or changes to my computer since initially installing GB-PVR.
I have been digging through the support forum, and it looks like there have been similar problems reported, with varying degrees of success. Some reported that upgrading their Hauppauge drivers worked, which I just tried uninstalling and re-installing my drivers. Someone reported that his cable signal was too weak, so I bypassed my cable box and ran my cable directly from the wall into my TV card. Some reported that switching their video decoders from VMR9 to VMR7 worked. I have tried every decoder method I can think of, and I can't seem to get any improvement in quality.
I did find out that if I edit my Recording Source under the "Capture Sources" tab and switch it from "Cable" to "Antenna", then I can get channels 1-12 just as clearly as i used to get 1-65.
I hope I've given you enough information. I'll be happy to provide anything more that you need. As I said, I really love the program, and I'd love to expand my cable channels back to where they were originally.
I thought this was just a quirk on one file, so ignored it the first time, but it happened again so I'm a bit confused about it.
I downloaded and transcoded an H264 (MP4) file to MPEG2 (MP2 Audio) and imported the file into GBPVR.
It plays back fine over the MVP, audio etc,. in sync, but when I press Skip or FF on the remote it goes backwards (rather than the forwards I expect). I didn't run it through comskip.
Why would it do this? Seems isolated to imported files. Native records are OK.
This is a tad bit old now, but I'd thought to see if there where any thoughts.
Back when time change occured my GBPVR went a little nuts. The TV Guide showed the right times after the occurance, but it wouldn't record anything scheduled until I restarted the service.
I also had recordings scheduled for midnight of time change which it didn't pick up either.
As I said,.... minor since it occurs twice a year. Other then that. 98.13 has been working great for me. I'm running it with 2 PVR 500s and a PVR 150 that is hooked up to my Digital Cable box.
I wasn't able to get much help with my problem so I'm posting this for the benefit of others who may get it in the future.
I've had a bit of a problem recently with A/V sync that has been driving me crazy. LiveTv, and even playback of a show that was currently recording, worked perfectly on both of my capture cards (PVR-250, ATI-550). When playing back shows, about 90% of them would have a problem where skipping (incl. commercial skips) would case the A/V to get out of sync - first I would get a few seconds of video with no sound, then the picture would freeze while the audio caught up, then the show would continue in sync. About 10% of my shows worked fine in GBPVR, and all the shows worked properly in WMP. This all started suddenly, GBPVR had been running flawlessly (save a few .NET errors) for over a month.
Eventually I narrowed it down to recordings being made on the Hauppauge card working perfectly, where recordings made on the ATI 550 would always have the problem. The behaviour was identical whether I used NVidia decoders or CyberLink decoders in GBPVR.
Then, one day I noticed that I no longer got the NVidia decoder icon in the task bar when I was watching shows.
Turns out that I had installed the trial version of the NVidia decoder. When it expired, GBPVR fell back to using the CyberLink decoders. The CyberLink decoder seems to exhibit the A/V sync problem 100% of the time with shows recorded on the ATI 550 (specifically a PowerColor 550 Pro PCI-E). The ATI card is configured first in GBPVR so most of my shows get recorded there.
The ATI-550 recordings work fine with the InterVideo NonCSS decoders that come with the Hauppauge card. If you don't have those, it seems that the sync problem is specific to the Cyberlink Audio Decoder, so you can use the Cyberlink Video Decoder with whatever other Audio Decoder you happen to have.
Hopefully this message will save someone the weeks of frustration that I've gone through.
