Hi,
I've just downloaded gb-pvr and giving it a go.
I'm using hauppauge's pvr150mce card with mce ir blaster.
When I choose to set up a new device profile, it comes up saying please wait. But then you see a prompt flash by asking for pressing buttons on the remote, but only for about 1/10th of a second before it automatically continues onto the next please wait. Finally ending with learning complete.
Anyone know why i'm not getting chance to input the learning commands?
I just installed the latest version of GBPVR on my laptop. I want to try using it in client mode.
When the configuration window was about to open, during the end of the GBPVR intallation process, the following error appeared. Any ideas on what I should do? I can't go any further.
I'm running .net 2 on a XP Home SP1 machine with WMP10.

Today I received a new PVR-150 (my second). When I plugged it in to my mobo in an empty PCI slot next to my first (already well established) PVR-150, my PC wouldn't even begin to boot. My display wasn't getting a signal either.
Take the new PVR-150 out... PC boots fine.
Put the new PVR-150 back in... no boot.
Take it out... PC boots fine.
I'd suspect a Dead On Arrival PVR-150?
Anyone else have any ideas before I send it back for exchange?
- FFMPEG version is reported (came with GUI4FFMPEG) as SVN-r6252
- libavutil version 49.0.0
- libavcodec version 51.14.0
- libavformat version 50.5.0
built on September 18 2006, gcc: 3.4.4 (mingw special).
Some guy at Videohelp.com said "Looks like it was compiled without faad enabled. Along with the above version info, it should list the configure params used. --enable-memalign-hack, etc. If you don't see --enable-faad, then it isn't enabled, so no aac decoding since libavcodec doesn't have an aac decoder of its own. Possible they wanted to keep it LGPL. Enabling faad would mean --enable-gpl. "
[EDIT]I downloaded an updated celtic_druid ffmpeg build from http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffmpeg/ (MUST use Firefox, IE7 is banned) and simply popped that into the GUI4FFMPEG dir and ran it with the same settings as I had before and to my surprise it ran (still running as we speak). I noticed that it had (amongst other things) x264 and faad. I had a little look at some of the output file and it looks OK. Maybe this could be slotted stright into Zprocess too, and support x264?
Hey JK... I tried the new version of ffmpeg that you pointed me to. It's huge...! over 6 megs to the original 2...
Anyway, I was unable to slip the file into the ZProcess directory and get it to work as is... That wold mean to me that this build isn't really backward compatible...
If I understand correctly, I would have to add further swicthes to the command line to make it work for h264, but I really shouldn't have to do anything for the existing transcode profiles...
I may have to wait for the next build of GBPVR and see what sub has in store for the new dvr-ms to mpg transcode option...
Alright guys and gals, sorry to bother you with this, but I'm looking to upgrade my GBPVR run HTPC, and I'm trying to figure out the best bang for my buck.
Current specs:
AMD Athlon 1.2mhz (not sure if it's 200 or 266 FSB)
512MB PC2100 memory
ATI9600Pro Video w/256 memory
Diamond Xtreme DDL Sound card
Single IDE Hard Drive 7200rpm 300GB - split into 2 partitions. 40Gig for OS and installed software, the rest for the DVR.
Hauppauge PVR150
The issues:
1. Watching LiveTV is painful. Takes 5 seconds or more for the channel to come up, by then the OSD is gone. If I do something to bring the OSD back up, the system chugs a bit. It's tolerable, but an annoyance enough that we avoid watching live TV on the DVR.
2. If I turn on the DDL feature of the sound card, it chews up an additional 10-15% CPU, which can cause issues when playback/liveTV is already using 80-90% CPU.
4. Likewise, I'm hesitant to watch a pre-recorded show while something else is recording. Recording doesn't take much CPU, but the system seems taxed enough just on playback.
5. GBPVR takes a long time to load. Obviously, only an issue when its not currently running.
6. We like to play some console emulator games - some of them are unplayable or choppy
So I'm looking at an upgrade - but the wife is already ticked anough at all the time and money I've spent on this thing... hehe. So it has to be minimal, best bang for my buck.
I figure my choices are:
1) Upgrade CPU: The Motherboard can handle up to a 2600+ (266fsb). $72 on Pricewatch, yowch. I saw a 2100+ cpu on Craigslist for $35, I think I should jump on that if it's still available
2) Upgrade memory: Only 1 slot left on the MB. I think another 512 (1gig total) would be a huge boost. Around $45-50.
I want to do both, but at a cost of $122 that seems ridiculous for such an antiquated system. For not much more, I could upgrade one of my other 2 computers (My main PC or my wife's PC)... and then upgrade the DVR from that - which would most likely require a complete rebuild.
I'm trying to modify my SS2Recorder plugin to add radio functionality (i.e. the ability to produce an mpg file with just an audio ES) and am having some trouble connecting up the multiplexer filter (CyberLink MPEG Mux).
At the moment, for a normal TV graph the pins would be connected as follows:
1) Render the video output pin on the MPEG-2 Demux to the FileWriter, via the MPEG Multiplexer
2) Render the audio output pin on the MPEG-2 Demux to the MPEG Multiplexer.
This works fine. However, I can't seem to follow a similar approach to connect up a radio graph. The MPEG Multiplexer won't allow an "audio only connection", i.e. the graph builder won't allow me to connect the MPEG-2 Demux audio output pin to the MPEG-Mux audio input pin, unless there is also a video connection.
Looking through the log files for a BDA "radio" graph, I see:
So, I'm wondering if this refers to some sort of configuration stage for the muxer which allows it to produce an "audio only" MPEG? If so, this might solve my connection problems. Any suggestions?
I almost have all the bugs worked out with hdtv / atsc finally, although one channel does not properly work. On Fox i cant watch live tv without the audio and video going out of sync, although pausing and replaying it or skipping makes it works just fine for a couple of minutes. Also when these files mux into mpeg , the mpegs skip and are unwatchable.
i wouldn't think it would be a problem with decoders and such because watching live tv and recordings for cbs and nbc work flawlessly. The signal on this channel is plenty good enough, and thats proved because i can watch live tv fine, but the audio and video gets out of sync, but skipping back or pausing corrects it.
Sorry if im not making much sense, i have a bit of a headache.
