I recently did a format and install of windowsXP. Before the format I was using an older version of GBPVR with no probs.
After a fresh reboot I can start and use gbpvr with no trouble. But after my computer has been on for awhile is when the trouble begins. Most of the time after my computer has been on for a few hours GBPVR locks up when I try to start it. When this happens I CAN start the config utility but if I press the playback tab that too locks up. If I do a reboot then GBPVR functions properly again.
I have loaded the app on a newly built Windows 2000 system. I have installed the major packages according to the installation pages: .NET 2.0, DirectX 9, the drivers for my tv tuner card (ATI TV Wonder Pro).
I scanned the forums, and have made the connection string changes in the xml file, deleted gbpvr.db3 and replaced it with empty.db3, and loaded .NET 1.1. I am not able to get the config program working at all. When I start the config program, there are no defaults (like the default skin), it will not detect my tuner card and virtually every button I click yields the following:

I read about a log but this really the only thing I could find that seemed useful:

Any help is appreciated....
The problem -
stuff recorded via dboxrecorder is recorded as .mpg - however this contains errors usually and can be somewhat troublesome to playback -
If i play it using WMP all is fine - have used several differnet codecs all ok -
If played under GBPVR - unwatchable due to jumping and stalls - have tried all available codecs (except nero i think) with no difference.
Using graphedit Ive traced the issue to the use of the mpeg-2-demuxer. If i use graphedit with that (as per the log files that show gbpvr uses it and the use of lastgraph) it carries on as in GBPVR. If substitute the mpeg-splitter all is fine.
I de-registered the mpeg-2-demux in order to force GBPVR not to be able to use it and was able to come up with a combination that was good for all mpgs, avi etc ................ BUT ........................
Then i found I was unable to record as the demuxer is used on the recording side.
So back in it went - problem returns.
No amount of demoting the mpeg-2-demux (its marked as do not use) and promotion of the mpeg-splitter makes a difference to GBPVR.
I know there is currently no way of specifiying a graph to use - but what
determines the use of the mpex-2-demux over the spilter ?
This is a clear case of GBPVR doing something different than WMP and no amount of fiddling with the codecs available seems to be able to resolve it.
so i scheduled a recording but i went away for the week and shut down the computer (not hibernate) and i come back and it tells me that it failed to the recording (under recording tab) and when i click on it and click delete, it tries to delete it and then goes right back to the screen with all of the other recorded shows, but does not remove the show from the recordings.
is there a way to manually remove the entry of that show?
thanks
Welcome to the new sub-forum that will be used to support questions and problems with the Enhanced Web Admin (EWA).
There were several requests for this type of service in the past and I was reluctant to move in this direction.....however....after seeing it in action I must admit this will make monitoring and resolution easier for everyone involved.
I am not sure what this would fall under so I totally apologize if it has already been covered.
Tomorrow I am going to get getting home a little after the Knick game starts. Is there anyway to set it to record so that I can start watching it right when I get home from the beginning of the game but still have the rest of the game recorded? Like if the game starts at 730 and I get home at 8... it would be like the game started at 8?
Blinky - Toggles the scroll lock light when you have a recording in progress. Also has mechanisim to write a blinky.rec file which shows when a recording is in progress.
PhotoCopy- Allows you to import photos from a photo card directly to one of the configured GBPVR photo directories.
Blinky and PhotoCopy are 2 plugins I've recently developed. I've developed the items I wanted, but does anyone have a particular request for a plugin? Depending on the effort, it might be something I could whip up.
Not having the necessary knowledge in order to do something like this, i would like to know if anyone would be willing to create an ipod video plugin. where you can transcode recordings and other video files for an ipod video.
This may be a newbie question, but how do I prevent apps like Norton Antivirus from taking the focus away from GBPVR? I have a dedicated HTPC and run tiny VNC from my office machine to do updates and maintenace; every now and then, I sit down to watch and realize GBPVR no longer has focus, so I either have to have a mouse and keyboard attached or walk into the other room, log in thru tiny VNC to fox it.
Thanks,
murph.
PS - let me know if this has been covered in another post somewhere, I couldn't find it.
