When a program is scheduled to be recorded, but it doesn't air at the scheduled time (usually due to a prior sports event that runs longer than planned), is there any way to automatically check for the program sarting, and then record it correctly?
From what I can observe, the PC turns on at the scheduled time, and then just sits there. It seems to "know" that the program scheduled to be recorded is not happening, since it is not recording whatever is broadcast on that channel/time slot, but I have found it still sitting there hours later, after the program has aired, and no recording has been made.
The programs in question have been set to record "all episodes this time slot".
I upgraded to 98.8 and switched to SQLite - went very smoothly, and my IR issues from before are solved.
Now I am having standby issues:
If I put the system into Standby from the System menu, all is well. It will wake to do recordings, and will wake manually when I press the power button on the PC.
When GBPVR wakes the system to do recordings, it goes to sleep again after COMSKIP has run, and will wake again to do the next scheduled recording. BUT if I try to wake the system with the power button, it gets all locked up. The power light goes on, there is some brief disk activity, and then it freezes. There is no video signal present, the keyboard, mouse and IR will not respond. I have to force the system to shut down by holding the power button, and then start it again.
I have the EPG update on "manual" since it has been causing no end of trouble, and updating manually is no hassle.
I have no idea where to start with this, help would be appreciated.
I'm using GB-PVR .98.8b with a Hauppauge PVR-500MCE dual tuner card. Everything is working wonderfully, EXCEPT for random glitches on a single channel (CBS, channel 6).
We have cable TV, the reception is nice and clear on all channels. But, when I record channel 6 or watch LiveTV through GB-PVR, I get a random "glitch" every few seconds. Sometimes the screen just jumps quickly, other times I get what looks like blocky encoding errors. The problem ONLY occurs on channel 6, and I have no problems with any other channel. And except for the glitching, channel 6 looks clear too.
I don't see any problems when watching straight TV (not through the computer), it only appears when using GB-PVR on my computer.
I just tried to reload TVSupercharger with version 1.3 and I get the message "failed to load resources from resource file check setup ". Unfortunately, I don't know where the setup is or what to do once I find it. I do have a copy of the 2 files that I was told to save when I updated to the latest version of GBPVR. This is the log from my attempt to load TV supercharger.
the wiki FAQ could probably use some updating, there seem to be a lot of people who cant seem to press F7 to change aspect ratio, or get tearing problems on old cards.
just thought I should point it out, maybe it would reduce some of the redundant threads on the forum
i´ve this working system:
- windows 2003 server
- gbpvr 0.98.8b
- terratec cinergy 1200 dvb-c (bda-driver 4.8.15)
everything works.
after i build in a second dvb-card (cinergy 1200 dvb-c)
recordings and tv don´t work (the second card isnt
configured yet). even after configuring/re-configuring
the second / first dvb-card recordings and tv.....
mapping digital channels only works with one card. are
both cards in the system the tuning seems don´t work
(on both cards).
the system itself works with both dvb-cards (tested with
dvdviewer).
Hi All,
As a newbie to this forum I was wondering how many of you guys are running MCE2005 but prefer GB-PVR.
The choice is obvious for people running ordinary XP but I'm curious to find out the reasons people have jumped ship.
Is there a killer feature that GB-PVR has?
Stability/Compatibility/Flexibility?
I have a system why my system drive is E:\ and not the normal "C" drive, Caller ID works fine except it does not show the pictures unless I make a C;\program files\devnz\gbpvr\callerid directory. It would seem the directory is hard coded into the plugin can the author look to changing this for the next release?
I'm having problems watching the scrambled channels. I have a valid card and subscription. I've tested with Mediaportal and it works. But I was hoping to get it to work in GBPVR.
What i have done.
- Clean Windows XP Pro install. All updates.
- Installed latest BDA drivers for FloppyDTV-C
- Installed SP2 Hotfix for DVB and SP2 Hotfix for 1394
- Installed GBPVR (GBPVR09808.msi)
- Installed Nvidia Pure Video MPEG2.
I can now tune all channels. They appear correct. But I'm only able to watch the free channels.. Anyone got any idea what the problem can be?
