This may be not so much a GB-PVR issue as much as a Hauppauge issue - I want to load GB-PVR by hitting the Power button on my Hauppauge remote. Is there something that can do this? I searched the forums real quick for something but came up empty.
Just checking, I had bad experiences when adding plugins to 98.08 and had ContourHC in use; I did a lot of things at once and I ended up having to go back to 96.x and start over as something was really not compatible. I"m not sure exactly what was the problem--
Trying to save some headache when I work on the setup tonight-- is ContourHC known OK with 098? Wiki just mentions tested through 96.12-
I like countourHC and would prefer to install everything directly into it, but sticking with plain Blue for now-
maybe it is already implemented or even a Feature that you guys think is useless :o
The Question/Request is the following:
A Messagebox that pops up when you either trigger an event or via an external application/command.
Background/Example:
On the XBMC when another XBMC on the same network is detected it comes up with an infobox in the right hand corner.
You can also use this feature via a HTTP command to send a message/info to the Infobox.
In Germany (and other places) you can use a Fritz!Box Fon (Wireless VoIP Router) to display incoming calls via this Messagebox.
The Fritz!Box or any other application just sends out an :
Code:
---------
>>>http://dbox/control/message?popup=Hello%20World
opens a popup window on the TV screen with content "Hello World"
>>>http://dbox/control/message?nmsg=Hello%20Welt
opens a message window on the TV screen with content "Hello World"
where the value DBOX is the IP Address of the device where the message should pop up.
I would find it an interesting ADD on to GBPvr to display that kind of popup (with timeout or even confirmation) on the Screen.
Maybe you could even add a feature that messages/last message is displayed in the Main GBPvr screen just like a recording ...
You could even add a Message Input Box into the Webadmin Window to inform the User at Home that you have changed something remotely via the Webinterface.
Or just a popup that informs you of someone accessing the webinterface ...
Endless Ideas ;-)
I am just trying my first steps on an Plugin for above Fritz!Box as you can download a missed caller list/telefonbook. I might abuse the UKCinema Plugin as a test plugin
I recently downloaded GB-PVR because I had heard that it works with DVICO's FusionHDTV cards.
For some reason, however, I am unable to record anything or view live TV. I know that the particular model I have is not listed, but the FusionHDTV3 is, and that model is mechanically similar.
Looking into the motherboard purchase for my server and I'm wondering if the type of onboard sound matters since the media will be served to an MVP client? How does the MVP client handle sound?
Since my HTPC isn't connected to the Internet I have to rely on the over-the-air EPG that is provided in the DVB stream. Just like other users I have problems with gaps in the EPG, too. Furthermore I don't really like the idea of pressing the "Update EPG" button to populate my EPG. Neither do I like an scheduled update.
Wouldn't it be much easier for the user, if the EPG automatically updates itself every time he's watching TV, just like ordinary set-top boxes do? This means, every time I tune in a certain frequency, the EPG data can be read out in the background without me noticing it. So after I tuned in every channel and watched it for a few minutes (maybe during zapping) the guide should be complete. The drawback of course is, that you don't have EPG data for channels you haven't watched yet. To solve this problem this feature could be additional to the manual or scheduled EPG update.
I have another problem with EPG, too: In addition to the start and end times and the title of a show many stations provide a more detailed description of their shows. Is there any way of accessing this information? I think I just haven't found it yet (I'm new to GBPVR), or maybe it's a missing feature. Would be nice to have it
And yet another problem: All the German umlauts (like ä, ö, ü, Ã) are missing in the EPG. Some shows have kind of funny titles this way :p
Anyway, I really like GBPVR and that you provide it free of charge. I'd like to thank you for all the effort you put in this nice piece of work!
just stumbled across this site while looking for PVR software
My question is i have a MSI Geforce FX5200 which has an analogue tuner on it will this work with GB-PVR ? as i cant see it in the list of suitable hardware but he card isnt that old and i thought it might work
Hi,
I tried to follow Jasons GBPvr Plug-in PDF Tutorial abut I already struggle at the beginning...
I downloaded Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Express edition
I added the following Code
Code:
using System;
using GBPVR.Public;
namespace FritzBoxPlugin
{
/// <summary>
/// Description for FritzBoxPlugin.
/// </summary>
public class FritzBoxPlugin : IMenuTask
{
#region IMenuTask Members
public void Activate()
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public void Deactivate()
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public System.Windows.Forms.Form GetConfigFormInstance(System.Xml.XmlDocument document)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public void OnClick(System.Drawing.Point location)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public void OnDoubleClick(System.Drawing.Point location)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public bool OnKeyDown(System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs e)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public void OnMouseWheel(System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs e)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public string getDescription()
{
return " This is the Fritz!BoxPlugin";
}
public string getName()
{
return "Fritz!Box Plugin";
}
public string getSkinSubdirectory()
{
return "FritzBoxPlugin";
}
public System.Drawing.Image getTaskImage()
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public bool needsRendering()
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
public System.Drawing.Image render(out bool requiresMoreRendering)
{
throw new Exception("The method or operation is not implemented.");
}
#endregion
}
}
just to get the very first steps but I get attached JPG error message ...
I'm still having troubles deleting shows. So far i've tried plain reinstalling, then deleting and then reinstalling. uninstalling and manually taking everything i can find with anything to do with VA out, and then reinstalling. Manually editing the VA database. All to no avail I've tried this on several shows. The tests i did on a show named yes dear last week and on a movie from yesterday krackin something or other. I still see references to both of those in the VA database.
Not sure where to go at the moment. So far the only way i've found to get the listings out is to just plain uninstall, delete everything and reinstall. I'll attach logs again and you can see i pretty much delete the krackin thing everytime i open the video archiver, only to have it back the next time i start up.
