  Automatic Deleter
Posted by: moo - 2006-09-25, 12:50 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

The auto deleter in gb-pvr gets rid of recordings that dont exist. But could this be changed so that insted it marks them as missing and moves them to a missing folder. That way if you have a usb hard drive and the cable falls out you dont lose all your recordings.

  wMVP is wireless worth it?
Posted by: kirschey - 2006-09-25, 12:19 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (34)

Hi,

I am thinking about buying the wMVP and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the wireless playback ability of video with such device?

I am running a Celron 2.4 GHz CPU with 1.5 GB RAM, will that be good enough for the video streaming of DIVX. I have a lot of DIVX or XVID.

Thanks for the tips.

Can't view live TV while recording
Posted by: Somnus - 2006-09-24, 11:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi, I just recently upgraded to 0.98.8b and have noticed this annoying problem.

In the previous version, whenever a show was being recorded, I could go to the "Live TV" option on the main menu and be given the option to watch the currently-recording show. With the new version, I get the same prompt as before (No tuners are available, you can watch...), but the only option in the dialog is "Dont watch TV" - the recorded show isn't displayed at all. In other words, I can't watch a show while it's being recorded.

Is there some configuration option that I missed in the upgrade? Also, I used the ConvertDatabase.exe utility to switch to SQLite. Could that have something to do with this? Thanks for your help.

  Website down????
Posted by: skoodog - 2006-09-24, 10:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I just reformatted my system boot drive and need a copy of GB-PVR to make my old PC purely a PVR, but to my dismay, the site is down. This problem seems to happen a lot. Is there an alternate place where the d/l is hosted?

Thanks!

  MVP not showing recordings
Posted by: EJCastellanos - 2006-09-24, 09:10 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

I have spent the past few days getting GBPVR to work. There have been a few trials along the way but I am thrilled with the program, thank you.

I am trying to use the GBPVR dongle.bin on my MVP. It displays the menu and tv guide fine. It is when I attempt to play a recording or live tv that the TV screen goes blank and the MVP seems to stop responding.

My setup is:
Windows XP Pro, 1 gig ram, Athlon XP 2400, WinTV PVR 150 and WinTV PVR 150 MCE. The MediaMVP is hard wired to a Linksys wireless router that the Windows box is connected to as well.

Any help in getting this working would be greatly appreciated. Once I get this working it is on to comskip/comclean.

For that matter, if I run comskip on a file, will the commercials be skipped when using the MVP to play them back (if using GBPVR on the MVP)?

I don't know where to find the versions of the software mentioned in other threads. It doesn't appear to match up to the file version information. In the config program the version is 0.98.8b. I am guessing that is the version referred to in the forums.

Thank you

  Installing plugins corrupt GBPVR installation
Posted by: tdoman - 2006-09-24, 08:59 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

When I try to install plugins that automatically copy the files to the gbpvr directory for me, sometimes I get the following error on the screen:

"Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check setup."

Once this happens, I can't load the GBPVR frontend without uninstalling and reinstalling GBPVR.

The weird thing is that it doesn't happen everytime for all plugins that automatically install. It's totally random as far as I can tell.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  Live Preview Mode
Posted by: spyork - 2006-09-24, 06:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is there anyway to disable the live preview mode? I unchecked the option in the config app, but everytime I exit live tv to go back to the main menu the live preview appears. I checked the config.xml and the option is set to false. Any ideas? Thanks...
