I am having major issues with stuttering during divx/xvid movies/tv shows. i have tried using ffdshow, xvid codecs, offical divx codecs etc but with no success. the movies run fine yet every 5-10 minutes the movies freezes or stutters for a few seconds. i want to try diffent audio renderes but its not clear weather the playback or dvd playback settings affect divx/xvid...which one should i chnage?
Sorry about the delay - currently flat-out with renovating and work, but had to finally make some time so that I could read our TV from the other side of the room!
Anyway - skin is updated to work with 98.8 and reven's latest MyVideos, and can be found on the wiki.
Hey guys, im a new user, but i need some help Recently i purchased a "Wintv 2000xp" tv tuner. (i know i know, supposedly it isn't supported by GB-PVR). I installed the tuner which came with a program called Winfast PVR. (this was crap, because it doesnt have a schedule system, or way to record). I understood that my card "isn't supported" but i installed a few drivers that were suggested to get it to work. When i open the configure menu i can choose from "WDM recorder plugin" and when i look under settings i can find and select my card. Also i selected the "zap2it" option which installed and loaded correctly. So i open up my GB-PVR program and the tv program guide (EPG) works fine. But then whenever i go to "live TV" it does not give me an error message or anything, but all it displays is a blue screen and no sound. i assume that this means that recording tv will not work either.
i assume this is a problem decoding the incoming tv signal from the card. either that or a mpeg decoder problem.
can anyone help me out with this problem? (if i have to attach logs, you might have to instruct me how to do so)
PS (tv works with the included program, but just displays a blue screen when i try to watch tv in GB-PVR) any thoughts?
I have read on the forum of some people getting the PCI version of this card to work. If anyone has could you please post your direct.ini if you made changes as well as any other changes you may have made to get it to work. I have been pulling my hair out trying to get this card working correctly.
On 98.8b after a problem was reported to me on my music library. I get this error when a timer I run, grabs some mp3 tracks and trys to add then to the playlist.
The error shows up in my debugger as:
Code:
Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'HomeMenu' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Before 98.8 this was working - I don't know when the behaviour changed.
Some more details. The main class on my plugin (not the task class) is a static. When it starts, it creates a timer to use for updating the music database, and a random (jukebox mode) music queue after a period of inactivity.
When i perform the same action that it's trying to perform (a random queue of music) with the keyboard, it's fine. The only time the problem occurs is when the timer event is fired off, and it tries to create random music from there.
Are there any suggestions you can offer as to what might be the cause/resolution. I'm not too up on multi-threading......
I've just added a stack trace to give a bit more information...

I'd like to be able to use the entire interface just using a pointing device, and not have to rely on a keyboard or remote (I use a wacom tablet instead of a mouse on a machine without a remote). I can use pretty much everything EXCEPT the tv guide. This is because there is no way to scroll left or right (or up and down) just using the mouse. I'd like some buttons (or better still, screen regions) that I can click or pull about to scroll the tv guide in that direction. At the moment I have to resort to a keyboard for navigation. Is this supported? I haven't seen any skins with it in.
I have a problem with setting the channels for my Dish network receiver through the IR blaster. If I'm using just the Hauppauge remote, things work fine changing b/w channels. But if I use the Dish Network remote and GBPVR gets out of sync, then I have issues.
What I basically want to know is if there is a way to customize the output so that it will send the channel change, wait for five seconds, then send it again to make sure that it gets sent correctly. It's the first time that it gets sent that I'm missing the first digit in the number.
Very basic question, I know, but I'm confused. I've seen so many screen shots of different main menus where the sports ticker and the weather and such (I have installed them already) appear. I'm using the BaseSkin, but I don't see them there.
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've attached my config file.
Just skinning the current Music and Video libraries, and wondered if you could include another Name variable.
In filmstrip view, I would like to put the name of the currently selected item top and centre above the image, but including @folderName will just return "@folderName" if a file is selected, and @fileName will of course not work when a folder is selected. Would it be possible to add an @Name variable encompassing both options?
Hi. I've seen several people talking about this in the past few days so I thought that I would post what I did to extend the cable.
I bought stereo speaker wire from Walmart. I cut the blaster cable in the middle and cut a 15-foot section off of the spool of stereo speaker wire. I made sure to connect the lines correctly (made sure that I didn't switch what line was connected to what side). I connected everything and taped it up and it works like a champ. It wasn't really that hard at all. It's not necessary to buy expensive cables (I used the lowest grade available at Walmart).
