  Multiple Servers Problem
Posted by: bigbus01 - 2006-09-13, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Sub,

Since installing 98.8, I have had problems switching between two pc servers I have on my network. On previous versions, I used to cycle the power on the mvp (via the remote) and then it would boot to the other server. With the new dongle.bin I can't seem to do it. Then only way to change servers is to physically pull power and boot the mvp. The new dongle will then scan for a preferred server (when it does this, it switches to the other server) and then I am stuck with that server.

Is there any way to get around this?

Thanks, so far so good (except for this issue).

Bigbus

  I-xmltv & Zap2it status
Posted by: roy - 2006-09-13, 06:45 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I have I-xmltv set to replace paid programs with Zap2it status, which is great, but, since it only does the first day of the guide, I don't usually see the zap2it status, because most of them are in the early am the next day.

Could the zap2it status be added to 2 days of listings?

Thanks

  > 1gb AVI wont play - graphedit error
Posted by: Koenie - 2006-09-13, 05:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

After upgrading to a new TV-set I found that i needed to give my xvid's a few more bits to get good quality (mainly blocking artifacts became visible). This caused the size of files to increase and I now found out that files bigger than 1 gb do not play in any directshow based player (they do play in the divx player). The fiels were transcoded with mencoder and xvid codec.

Graphedit gives this error:
The graph could not change state.
The file format is invalid (return code 0x8004022f).

This happens for every file over 1.064.000 KB.

Any ideas?

  Skip not always working right...
Posted by: basketcase - 2006-09-13, 05:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Ok, I have a little problem and it is kind of hard to describe. But, maybe someone out there has experienced the same.
This only happens every once and a while, but enough to be kind of annoying. When I say once and a while, I mean like once every week or two, but it is very random. The problem seems to occur when I pause live tv (go into time shift mode). Sometimes when I hit play, the video will fast forward through everything that it has in the buffer. The sound plays at normal speed, but it might be playing live sound, I can never tell. It fast forwards all the way to the live tv.

But, like I said, it is kind of random and weird. Any ideas out there on what the problem was? It happened to me last night, watching the Vikings game.

Thanks

  Question for Raven or anyone about My Videos RC3
Posted by: mk000 - 2006-09-13, 05:05 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (22)

Raven, or anyone who may know better than I (which is all of you)...

Why when I install My Videos 5 RC3 does it not show up in the application? I make sure I install, go into the config, set up the correct location of the db, and have a directory setup, and it never appears in the application. I also make sure the advisor skin I have has the 3 different and necessary skin folders. Ive tried to switch to blue skin without luck either. And I know Blue also has the skins. Oh and I use the latest Ultra dll file (the one that does the metadata stuff, but I dont remember the name), but I know it now users the newest version.

Any thoughts? I love the My Video plugin and would love to have it again on the newest GBPVR. Do I need to add 'MY VIDEOS' into the VIDEOPLUGIN in CONFIG.XML like I do for the volume plugin?

Thanks,
MK

  TV Listings & how XMLincons work?
Posted by: mk000 - 2006-09-13, 04:58 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (5)

I love the TV Listings plugin and I use it to replace the TV Guide option. I've read the pages about the XML icons and that they have their own plugins, but I never can get them to work. Are they suppose to download an icon for popular network icons? Or am I off on this?

And if so, could someone walk me through the icon part of a post tv listing setup?

Thanks!
MK

  Question about On Screen Title
Posted by: mk000 - 2006-09-13, 04:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sub, I wanted to expressed thanks, as I am sure you hear alot, but not enough for GBPVR, and to those that help support it. I apologize that I am not more active in the community.

My question is 2 parts about the on screen title (menu?). I am referring to when in TV, you see the channel, desription of the program, etc in a bar. Mine defaults to blue.

1. I use GBPVR mainly for DVR or as a heavy multitasker. I like to watch tv in a window on a big screen while working on several other windows. As such, I move the mouse around a lot, and constantly get the title to popup a lot. Is there a way to disable the menu from appearing unless I click the screen or change the channel, etc? I just want the window to display TV only should I accidently hover the mouse over it.

2. Is there a way to change the colors or theme to the title menu? I have never noticed a theme to actually do this. But I noticed on the main page of gbpvr.com, the title menu is the screen shot is green. I have never see how that can be changed.

I have a few plugin questions I will be posting in that part of the forum also.
Thanks all!
MK

  Community Skin named colors.
Posted by: Fatman_do - 2006-09-13, 04:35 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

Here is a list of what is going on in the baseskin.xml file for named colors.

This section is what is used currently by the Community skin and by blue.

Code:
<NamedColors> <!--TV Guide Colors, Do NOT use vertical gradients --> <NamedColor name="NormalListing" color="Transparent"/> <NamedColor name="ScheduledListing" color="Horizontal:#990000-#AA0000"/> <NamedColor name="SelectedListing" color="#009900"/> <NamedColor name="SelectedScheduledListing" color="Horizontal:#440000-#BB0000"/> <NamedColor name="ConflictListing" color="Horizontal:#442200-#AA5533"/> <NamedColor name="SelectedConflictListing" color="Horizontal:#664422-#CC8844"/> <!-- the surrounds must be solid colours for now --> <NamedColor name="ListingSurround" color="#0F59B2"/> <NamedColor name="ChannelIconSurround" color="Transparent"/> <NamedColor name="ChannelNameRectangle" color="Transparent"/> <NamedColor name="SelectedListingSurround" color="Transparent"/> <!-- System plugin disk drive pie chart --> <NamedColor name="TotalDiskSpace" color="#660000" /> <NamedColor name="FreeDiskSpace" color="#006600" /> <!-- ListView Selection Background Color styles, no longer used by 'Blue', but used by plugins --> <NamedColor name="Selection" color="Blue" />

These are new values used by blue, for xml colors
Code:
<!-- standard selection highlight colours --> <NamedColor name="StandardSelectionBackground" color="Blue" /> <!-- standard popup colours --> <NamedColor name="PopupBackground" color="Black" /> <NamedColor name="PopupBorder" color="White" /> <!-- standard list colours --> <NamedColor name="ListBackground" color="Black" /> <NamedColor name="ListBorder" color="LightGray" /> </NamedColors>

This is new stuff to play with and consider.
Code:
<!-- standard font colours --> <NamedColor name="ButtonNormal" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="ButtonSelected" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="ListViewActive" color="LightBlue" /> <NamedColor name="ListViewNormal" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="ListViewSelected" color="Yellow" /> <NamedColor name="BackgroundText" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="BackgroundTag" color="Yellow" /> <NamedColor name="PopupText" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="PopupTag" color="Yellow" /> <NamedColor name="ListText" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="ListTag" color="Yellow" /> <NamedColor name="[B]ScreenText[/B]" color="LightGray" /> <NamedColor name="ScreenTag" color="Yellow" /> <NamedColor name="TitleText" color="#a2c9f1" /> <NamedColor name="TitleTag" color="Yellow" /> <!--For use with DrawTextWithOutline--> <NamedColor name="GeneralOutline" color="Black" /> <NamedColor name="NormalOutline" color="Transparent" /> <NamedColor name="SelectedOutline" color="Black" />

The thought process here is that the textstyles will used NamedColor values like :
Code:
<TextStyle name="ScreenText" [B]color="ScreenText[/B]" typeFace="Arial" size="13" style="bold" /> <TextStyle name="ScreenTextLarge" [B]color="ScreenText[/B]" typeFace="Arial" size="16" style="bold" />

Changing a named color will effect those two textstyles. Also, if a plugin desired to use a custom sized or named "ScreenText" element, they could do this to keep the same look.

Code:
<TextStyle name="Temperature" [B]color="ScreenText[/B]" typeFace="Arial" size="20" style="bold" />

It is not possible yet to "pass along" a 'typeFace' or 'style' value. (At least that I am aware of)
