  Hard disk about to fail?
Posted by: elite - 2006-08-17, 04:14 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (19)

My hard disk (dedicated to recordings) has started to make a rather concerning loud clicking noise during recording and playback.

Does this indicate it might be about to give up on me?

  Post Transcode
Posted by: Jackal_styx - 2006-08-17, 03:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi All!

I am trying to write a script that would transcode and upload a show to my wife's Ipod. (it is just a batch file that moves the mp4 and then adds it to the itunes DB)
Ideally I would like the script to be called after using the transcode function under "video library".

Ideal work flow for wife:
1. Picks a show for ipod
2. Computer prepares file
3. Next time wife plugs in her ipod the show is uploaded

I have been trying to use the PostConversion.bat file, but upon rereading the wiki I believe that the file is only called if I use the auto-convert process. Sad

The script does work when I call it from the command line....

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?

Thanks!!

I am using the follow:
GB-PVR v0.97.13
Win2k sp4
PVR-250
MVP rev H2
Athlon XP 2400+
1 gig ram

  ffmpeg crashing
Posted by: Supermort - 2006-08-17, 12:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I'm using 97.13 on XP SP2 and i'm having trouble getting transcoding to work properly. When transcoding into any format (xvid divx wmv etc) from either the automatic conversion or from 'video library' it starts to encode and after a few minutes ffmpeg crashes leaving behind a partial (and non functioning) transcoded video file.

"Faulting application ffmpeg.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ffmpeg.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x000c59e6."

any ideas on what i'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance

help needed configuring gbpvr with Hauppauge wintv-pvr-usb2
Posted by: Pieter Overbeeke - 2006-08-17, 11:46 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi, i need help configuring gbpvr. It does not recognize the wintv-pvr-usb2 automatically (when i check 'only show devices detected in this machine' it says: no known cards detected in this machine), i've tried to manually configure it, but when i try 'live tv' it tells me: Failed to locate configured capture device. The remote-control does work though!?

Maybe there is someone with the a wintv-pvr-usb2 device that can show me his/her settings?

Thanks,

Pieter

  PC starts then hibernates randomly
Posted by: forums_v - 2006-08-17, 10:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Since installing GBPVR, my computer starts itself up randomly and then goes back into hibernation.

It has only done this since the installation.

I have no scheduled recording that would invoke the start up, and I have the EPG time set at 19:00 for daily download.

I have disabled the Wake on LAN for my network card within the BIOS, and there is no wake up feature for USB there to modify.

Any ideas what may be the culprit?

Pete

MVP remote direct channel number keypad access
Posted by: rscheller - 2006-08-17, 10:43 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (7)

See my sig for specifics.

Sorry if this is answered somewhere already but I can't seem to find much regarding direct channel access.

As well as my system is working, I continue to fine tune. One problem I'm still having is when watching 'Live TV' on the MVP, my MVP remote won't let me access a channel with the num-pad on the remote that's more than a single digit. i.e. if I press 6 on the num-pad the GBPVR/MVP OSD shows a 6 and goes to channel 6 but if I press 1 then 6 (channel 16), GBPVR/MVP OSD shows a 1 then the 1 is replaced with a 6 then it goes to channel 6. It seems as though the system only sees the last single number pressed.

What am I missing?

Thanks

ShowSearch Request -- Length of Show
Posted by: ww4397 - 2006-08-17, 10:28 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I'd like to say that this is a GREAT plugin. Thanks, Jeff.

Is it possible to add the length of the show in the discription? If I'm looking at recording a show that I'm not familiar with, it would be nice to know how long it is before recording it.

  multiple capture sources,one xmltv file
Posted by: happyhammer - 2006-08-17, 10:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I use birtles grabber to get UK and irish TV channels in one file. i use the SS2recorder plugin for SKY FTA UK channels, i have an PVR 500 for the four Irish standard TV channels.

So, in the config program, when i try to configure the PVR 500 for just the irish channels, when i hit the update EPG, it adds all the channels in the xmltv file. When i remove the UK channels from the list of channels and update again, i still get all the Uk channels added. So i must be doing something wrong.

For now, i manually create two seperate xmvtv files, one for Uk and one for Irish, but how do i get it to work with just one file?

  Auto Aspect Ratio not Working
Posted by: homer - 2006-08-17, 07:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am using Overlay, and in the last version of GB-PVR I can toggle the Aspect Ratio Mode.
All of them are working fine but the Auto mode. When I select Auto AspectRatio Mode (0,0,1,1 in the Config file), I get a Black video. This happens trying with several different Video Decoders.
I use Overlay Manager because VMR is using too much CPU for my computer.

Is there something I can do to make the Auto Aspect Ratio Mode work?

And this is a little detail. When I use LetterBox aspect ratio, the top/bottom black areas are not really black. They are like grey(little blue). Is this supposed to be like that? Can I get them completely Black?

Thanks,
Joaquin

  Timeshifting problems
Posted by: ddrum2000 - 2006-08-17, 05:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

So I have a problem with timeshifting. I hit pause to activate timeshifting and the screen goes blank. The only way I can watch live tv again is to restart GBPVR. Whats going on? Also i am a newbie so if you ask me to post my logs, which files should I post. Thanks
