  Problem with ExternalRecorder Plugin
Posted by: Captain-DJ - 2006-08-05, 06:47 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hello!

The ExternalRecorder Plugin create an .mpg file, how I can switch that off?

Test1.exe converts the EPG Data to the External Recording Programm
notepad.exe is for testing, the correct software is called later
ende.bat close the Recording Software.

The Plugin search für the .mpg File, but the name of the file is different !
So ExternalRecorderPlugin dont find it and restard the recording ... Test1.exe and Notepad.exe called again !

I dont understand why the Plugin makes an MPG File, i only want to start the Programms in this order at the EPG time.

Greetings

Captain

No channels found w/ Nova-T stick (used to work)
Posted by: tommyd - 2006-08-05, 04:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey all,

Hoping someone can help me here. I've got a Hauppauge Nova-T Stick USB tuner (DVB-T only), nice device, sadly the included WinTV isn't the best of programs. Initially, I couldn't get GB-PVR to work - however, at that point I didn't know what I was doing. I got the latest build and followed instructions on some site (I forget where) and got everything working nicely - great piece of software.

However, since then, something (and this is where I sound stupid, I honestly cannot remember if it was something I did e.g. reinstalling drivers, or if it was just something that happened "on its own") has changed. GB-PVR (which previously worked fine) stopped being able to tune to any channels, instead showing a black screen. I tried to rescan for channels and none were found, using either All Regions or my local transmitter (Winter Hill) - WinTV, MediaPortal and ScanChannelsBDA (the log of which I have attached to this post) all recieve fine.

Since this happened, I have tried everything I can think of - totally wiping off any trace of GB-PVR and reinstalling with a freshly downloaded copy, totally removing (I hope? using hcwclear.exe) the drivers and software for the TV card and reinstalling (both the supplied version, 2.5b, and the newest, 2.5d), hitting my computer, etc etc. I've also tried changing BDAScanType in config.xml to 2, with no difference.

What is odd is that it used to work great - everything points to the fact that I must have changed some setting somewhere, but I don't think it can have been a GB-PVR setting as I've wiped it off a few times (unless it stores anything anywhere else other than \Program Files\devnz\gbpvr and HKLM(/HKCU)\Software\devnz?). Also odd is that other BDA software still works, so it doesn't seem like a driver problem.

I've attached my config log files also, in the hope that they might be of some help in figuring this out. I'm pretty sure I'm going through the configuration procedure right, but it's not impossible that I'm just making a stupid mistake Smile

Anyone any advice?

Cheers,
Tom

  chanel listings out of order
Posted by: DazedAndConfused - 2006-08-05, 02:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hey there. I really like GBPVR and have been using it for a few weeks now with no real problems. But this morning I went to watch TV and my program guide is listed in alphabeticle order, not by number. I can't see where I can change this in the config file. Can you help?
Thanks.

deactive() not getting called when leaving plugin via "Videos" "Guide" etc hotkeys
Posted by: reven - 2006-08-05, 12:14 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

sub the "deactive" method of a plugin isnt called when you leave the plugin via the hotkeys
tv guide, live tv, videos, music (usually f1, f2, f3 etc)

is this just an oversight since these keys were added well after the original plugins, or is this by design? because its really screwing up something im trying to do (stop a timer when you exit the plugin).

if its by design (god knows why, well besides you Smile) could you add a new event
"ScreenActive" with the eventtext "Main Menu" or eg "Video Library" etc, that i could listen for that event compare if the text is my plugin, and if not manually call deactive.

i really hope its just an oversight/bug however, make my lifer easier Smile

  Wake detected. Executing Wake File
Posted by: Stargrove1 - 2006-08-05, 09:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

since a few days I have the problem that after waking up from hibernation or standby, some dialog boxes with the following message appears:

Wake detected. Executing Wake File

I think it started after upgrading from 97.7 to 97.13 . If I close the dialogbox by ok, GBPVR crashes and I need to reboot the machine. What can I do?

  DishNetwork DVR STB
Posted by: MPA2012 - 2006-08-05, 04:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (25)

Hi all,

I am new to this, just bought a new PC with an ATI TV Wonder eLite adapter. I added this part to my system because I wanted to play around with the PVR stuff.

So, I have the software installed an working, but for one thing. I can't get the gbpver to set the channel to 73. The DN-DVR has a second tuner and is set to 73. All the TV's that connect to this tunner needs to have their tuner set to 73 to pickup the signal.

Has anyone run into this and if so, how did you get it to work?

These DN STB with the two TV output and remotes are becoming a real pain. I liked DirecTV and their STB's 10 times better.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

MVP Remote - Jumping in Lists
Posted by: baj1 - 2006-08-05, 04:01 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

I may have missed a few releases, I went from 97.09 to 97.13. Sorry if this is a redundant question, but did the use of the |< and >| buttons to jump through a list on the MVP go away at some point? I've noticed it doesn't work on either of my MVPs with 97.13, but did in 97.09.

Thanks,
-Brad

Quick plug for the FREE Gimp

If you don't have photoshop or a decent graphics tool to create your themes... The FREE Windows version of the Gimp might be your ticket. It's what I've been using.

Get it here:

  Fuzzy Mess :)
Posted by: REDdimension - 2006-08-05, 12:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello, all! Wow, what an awesome piece of software!

I've been fighting with MythTV & Linux for the past two weeks and finally decided to explore WinXP alternatives and found GBPVR. So far (even though I've yet to see any video) I'm very impressed after only about an hour playing with it.

My question is in setup. I'm using a Hauppauge PVR500MCE dual tuner card running on WindowsXP-SP2 (fresh install). When I go to LiveTV, I get the image attached. I'm sure it's a config setting. Any other PVR500 users might be able to enlighten me as to the settings?

Setup:
SUS Vintage-AE1 Sempron SiS 760 Barebone
Hauppauge PVR500MCE
GeForce FX5200
AMD2800
512MB DDR400

Thanks!
