Manage reoccurring recordings from the system tray
Posted by: Mister Slimm - 2006-08-04, 02:54 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Now my system tray utility allows you to manage reoccurring recordings from the system tray. Visit the Slimm GB-PVR thread for more information, the download link and a list of all the other features.

Any questions, comments or bugs, please post to that forum thread. Thanks.

I was just thinking this morning what a friendly bunch of people this forum seems to have on it. Probably in the top few percent if you search around and look at all the trolling, flaming and general fanboyism that abounds all over t'internet.
Sooooo I was just wondering what it took to build such a lovely communitySmile....

ffmpeg - VOB to MPG, timing errors...
Posted by: zehd - 2006-08-04, 07:08 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (7)

(I'm transcoding some kids VOBs to Harddrive for easy MVP viewing)

Using ffmpeg.

When I transcode a VOB to an MPG, My video length timing is off... A 24:39 VOB becomes 28:35 MPG. Several 10 minute VOBs become 3 secs MPGs

(I should point out that it appears to create a full size MPG with all the content, just that VLC or WMP reports the lengths wrong.

I suspect that with those time errors, skipping forward and back with the MVP would be he11...

Any ideas?

  Audio issues only in gbpvr
Posted by: caesar25e - 2006-08-04, 06:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi everyone,

Well I have never had this issue before and I do not know what started it. I set up gbpvr on a new windows install and everything was fine for a few days, and then I lost audio in gbpvr. Not in all programs, just gbpvr. I found a way to get sound back, but to do it I have to open the windows volume controller and set the Wave volume to 100%. I have to do this every time I open a new file in gbpvr. I tried uninstalling and deleting the program folder, but that did not solve it. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Thanks

  Custom Tasks
Posted by: JonnyCam - 2006-08-04, 04:11 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Ok - so I have a couple of custom tasks which I use.

I want to add a task image for each of these to keep with the look & feel of the skin - is there any way to have an image for a custom task? (and can I have a seperate image for each custom task?)

Thanks

  Need a little advice please
Posted by: jersiq - 2006-08-04, 12:41 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I am looking at junking my DirectTIvo's and runnign with just basic SD cable.
I plan to purchase a 500MCE and one wireless MVP.
My question is should I run a dedicated server for this? (I will only be using the MVP to watch recorded or 'live' TV. I will very rarely use my PC for watching TV)
I currently have a 3200+/1 Gig Corsair Ram/plenty of HD space for my needs.

From what I understand GBPVR records in MPEG-2, and the MVP will Decode MPEG-2, making all my encoding and decoding hardware specific. (Less processor time on my PC)

I use the PC for very occasional gaming, e-mail, web browsing. Will the streaming feature be too much?

I am of the opinion to purchase another PC to act as a server, but I wanted to hear what everyone here has to say.

  Secondary display always has tearing
Posted by: wraithetc - 2006-08-03, 11:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Well I use an lcd monitor but, also output to a SD TV.

Whenever I play back anything to the secondary monitor whether it be the lcd or sd crt it will have tearing.

The monitor placed on primary will look fine however. This tearing only happens when I use any type of frontend software. If I output with a media player like vlc to both monitors it never occurs.

I tried messing with the decoder settings etc.

I also searched the forums and it seemed like others have this problem but I never saw a specific thread on it.

  More fleshed out program searching
Posted by: wraithetc - 2006-08-03, 11:45 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I think the program searching as it is, is fine but not very refined.

It could use first a on screen alphabet and number pad for easy searching with a remote.

Also it would be great to have tv genre filters like sports, action, drama etc.
