If I start with Graphedit, I can build a graph to connect a dvr-ms source file to a WM ASF Writer (via audio/video decoders). If I select the properties of the WM ASF Writer and choose a profile, some profiles work but others just produce a 6KB file which looks (to me) like an asf/wmv 'wrapper'. The properties show the right bitrate and resolution but duration is 00:00:00.
Anyone got any ideas what causes this little stub file to be produced? I've written a program to do this but even using one of the profiles that work in Graphedit, I get a 6KB file as mentioned above. I really want to use a custom profile of my own but that does the same thing.
Scratching my head and fresh out of ideas - searching the net doesn't help. Any experts on wmv/asf out there?
Cheers,
Brian
PS This isn't GB-PVR specific so I didn't put this on the Developers forum.
This is my first post at these forums, so I'd like to say hello to everyone, and thanks to the developer of GBPVR.
Here's my set-up/predicament...
Bell ExpressVu 3100 Reciever
GBPVR (latest version)
PVR-150
I have the card installed and hooked up via the red/white/yellow plugs to my PVR-150. Everything works well on Hauppage's WinTV2000, and I can watch LiveTV and record shows with no issues.
With GBPVR, I have the config setup for "Constant channel 3", (my satellite reciever is set to channel 3 as well), "Fixed Channel, external tuner".
I think my problem maybe with the setting "Fixed Channel, external tuner". When I click "LiveTV" in the menu, I get a fuzz, or static, but the guide/channel info is visable and I am able to change the channels, however I am pretty sure that I want it on channel 3, and change the channels on my satellite reciever.
I don't intend to buy another remote or IR blaster, I'm perfectly content with setting a timer on my satellite and setting the same recording in GBPVR. I just gotta figure out how to get the picture first...
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...
I'm using the latest build 97.9 with .net 2.0 and xrecord plugin (the last one shouldn't make a diff, still..). I am running into an issue where every time I click on Recording (the default one from GBPVR) I get an "Error: Out of Memory" and I cannot click on the "OK" button that comes with it. The only way to click is to use the mouse or close the entire app.
here's a snippet of the gbpvr.exe.log file, I am not sure exactly what's going on but it looks like it is unable to render an image. I've tried the "repair" option in the 97.9 to see if it restored some missing file and it still gives me the same error.
Anybody have a clue?
thanks!

I have 97.9 and an ATI T550 Pro card. Also, I have an optical out from my sound card to my sony receiver and 7.1 system.
When watching live tv, I can put the sony reviever in dolby prologic and (depending on the channel/show) get surround sound.
However, This never works with recordings (they record in stereo only). I looked at the capture settings for my profile but only saw bit rate / hz options.
Does anyone know of any way to record surround sound? Maye I need to get another codec?
Despite trying to follow all advice I could find here and on wiki, I can't get rid of the pesky Object reference message.
I am running a PVR250 on XPSP2 on a P4 2.56ghz with 512meg. I installed 97.9 and made sure all my drivers were up to date. I tried modifying the playback settings to no avail.
Please see my attached log file. It shows 4 errors including the fatal one.
I have 2 of the pvr150s that also have FM tuners. Whe I originally set up just the one, I had no trouble connecting the antenna and listening to FM radio. At the time I was using 96.12
I have not tried to listen to FM since I added a second tuner card. Today I tried, hooking the antenna up to either of the PVR150s and there's no sound...
I'm now using 97.9
What I did notice is that when I try to play the radio, the FFdshow audio icon shows, as if there's something that it recognizes that it should handle...
I'm attempting to use my USB UIRT with a stereo to mono adaptor. I have altered the sky ir files by adding Z1 and Z2 to each of the two files I have on each line so that hopefully GBPVR will issue the correct command to each of my sky STB's.
I can get it to work with one emitter plugged in but not two through the adaptor (which works on SageTV BTW). ANy ideas?
