Could someone tell me how to do this? I use the direct recorder plugin option and go to configure it but the card is not there. I tried the DTV2000 option but that doesnt seem to work either. Is it possible to view composite and s-video inputs from this card in GBPVR?
This is my first post on this forum. I recently purchased a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 card, downloaded and installed GB-PVR, and just tried installing the UbuStream plugin. Once I get the UbuStream working, I plan to get a MediaMVP that is either already wireless, and get a complementary device to make it wireless.
The Issue:
Anyway, I followed the UbuStream installation instructions to the best of my understanding, and it appears to have worked for the most part. However, when I go through the channels, while the internet stream channels appear along with the cable channels that work properly, when I click on the UbuStream channels, I get the following message in a command line prompt style window:
"Syntax: UbuStreamCmd
<channel number>
<"player parms">
Hit <enter> to exit"
Does anyone know how I might resolve this issue?
Next Step?
Also, as far as I can gather from other threads I have read, once I fix this, I will be able to play these channels within GB-PVR on the computer, but then I would have to add a video stream recording program to eventually get it working through the MediaMVP. For that I was considering Mplayer, but I have seen much on how to set that up, so I am not sure if I would be getting in over my head. Anyway, any point of reference for experimenting with that would also be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
I scoured the internet and found two cards (based on a review) which provide better antialiasing than the hauppauge cards. I wonder if gbpvr will support the EVGA NVTV mpeg-2 encoder card and ATI's TV Wonder Elite. The EVGA NVTV uses a LSI DVxplore chipset, which I believe is the same chipset as my "former" rebadged Lite-ON 5020 unit implemented. According to the review and the comparison of pq, the nvtv far surpassed the elite and 150 mce in antialiasing processing. If the review is correct I should buy the NVTV if hopefully GBPVR will support it.
Well i took the leap today, So far so good. VA seems to be working well as you promised!
Two questions for now:
How do i get VA to look at the archived folder. It archives to the folder i setup but it only shows brand new recordings and ignors what's there already. I wasn't worried about discriptions the names are good enough but i don't see anything from that directory listed, except what i just archived as a test.
Could you explain the user and group setup a bit. I haven't touched it yet as i don't want my wife to have to type in her password to watch her soaps. It's only the two of us here most of the time so passwords are not really needed.
