I can not get the M3U-files to work in the MusicLibrary2. It finds the file in the scan but when i try to play it, the MusicLibrary2 crash. If the MusicLibrary2 correctly import the M3U-file, how does the database tables look? Does it only create one new row in the Playlists-table, or does it import row into the Playlistdata also?
The media player can play the M3U-file.....
While my living room was strewn with more wires and cables that I could count, I realized my mistake and picked up a hauppauge remote from Ebay (go ahead and start chuckling). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...%3AIT&rd=1
Then I realized that not only did the 1042 not have an IR cable included, but it doesn't even have a port for one (laugh now).
So . . . now that I have a remote I can't use with a card with no port . . . . any suggestions on what I should do? Is there a receiver that will work with my "new remote?"

I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of installing GBPVR. Since the day I installed it myself or my girlfriend have used GBPVR every day with very few problems. This is on an old computer which sat under my bed for a year without being touched and which probably would have been thrown out eventually.
I have to say that with the possible exception of Microsoft MapPoint (which I use for work) I cannot think of another piece of software which I have been more satisfied with or which has made such a big change in my day to day life.
I'm curious about a few things.....
SUB seems to devote a huge amount of time to developing and supporting GBPVR.....Is this his job? The donations link at the top of the website is very discrete and I have never seen a request for donations (I am overdue to make another).
How old is GBPVR? I have seen posts in the forums from early 2004 but not much before that.
What was the motivation for developing GBPVR in the first place?
Is Sub actively trying to sell GBPVR? I'm surprised if Hauppauge hasn't made an offer since the software that comes with their products is pathetic.
I have no good reason to ask these questions, Im just curious.
I am just blown away that such a solid piece of software is still completely free. The support I get here is far better than what I get from companies whose products I have paid hundreds of dollars for.
sub, great product, i've been using it for almost a year now, and i love it. I used to have a perfectly automated setup, using the mencoder utility developed my stattik, however... lately (whether it's me, or gbpvr i'm not sure) i've been noticing some quirks with gbpvr that i never noticed before.
1. watching something that is recording, this part seems very glitchy, it seems that you need to record X amount before you can actually watch it.
2. time tables, again, i don't know what's responsible for this... but if i record a program, and postprocessing runs comskip, creating the small txt files and whatnot, then transcode into xvid (keeping commercials), shouldnt those comskip files still apply? and if not, lately when i transcode into xvid (attempting to cut commercials) it completely ruins the file, and i basically lose the recording. (4gb season finale's take up a lot of space, if i can't transcode them, i can't afford to keep them on my drive)
3. i think i might have read that you're alreading addressing this;
when recording a program that i would like to watch at the same time, the fact that when the recording service starts recording, and sends you back to the main menu makes it so i can't watch the program until it's done (because for some reason i can't watch recordings while they're recording).
if i'm missing something about the software, or don't fully understand something please tell me.. but i'm pretty sure my setup is correct, and i don't understand what might be screwing this up.
Compaq 1.8ghz pent., WinXP Pro, 512Kmem, low end vidcard, PVR350
Regarding this WIKI stmt in the Error msg section:
"The default is âlive previewâ which does not record, but this is not compatible with the specialist hardware decoders (MVP, XCard or PVR350), so these devices are permanently stuck in âtimeshift modeâ. There is no way around this. "
I have a PVR350 and am getting slow performance when viewing on TV due to this time shift auto-record feature. I do have the PVR350 set to not display on PC monitor.
I'm Inquiring if there yet any way I can force this to be turned off, that is enforce Live Preview mode with a PVR350. GBPVR for TV viewing is just not usable which is disappointing after spending $$ and building up this PC exactly for this use in our living room. Changes I could fairly easily make is a video card upgrade (if < $100) or Memory or reinstalling with WinXP Home not Pro
OK, so I hooked my mouse up to a 25' PS/2 extension cable so I could press the mouse button to wake up my PVR PC from upstairs. When I have the mouse plugged into the PS/2 port directly, it wakes the PC and the mouse functions normally. When I use the 25' extension cable, the mouse is detected and according to the control panel settings is working correctly, but the mouse does not respond at all. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
