  Handeling Remote Control Buttons being pressed
Posted by: cgmt - 2006-05-12, 02:15 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I am writing my first pluggin and I need to know how to handle the Play,Stop,Pause buttongs that are pressed on the remote in the KeyPress Event. I need to be able to trap the Play and Stop buttons being pressed on the remote anddo some action. I would assume that it would be in the OnKeyDown event but not sure how to handle non keyboard items. If anyone could point me in the write direction, I wouldgreately appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

  gbpvr behavior
Posted by: kellis - 2006-05-11, 10:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

hi.
1st, again, this program is very good. Thank you for that.

I have a 350 hauppauge card.

1) it works 95% of the time, but sometimes, i try to watch a show i recorded, it plays about 10sec of black screen then kicks me back to the menu.
nothing i can do, the filesize looks about correct, same thing from wmplayer.

However if i try to play the file through my DVD software player it works.
I am not sure why it does that sometimes. Like the file is corrupted, or a different format. But i set gbpvr 1 time and never really changed the settings, so that can't be my settings.

2) last time was weird. 1 hour show. 1st 15min were perfect, then the sound stopped working, then came back 10min before the end of the show.
I can fast forward and rewind, the sound is still not there. Same behavior with DVD player and wmplayer.
It is not at play runtime that it has the problem, the file itself has "muted" sound in the middle.

either the feed from the cable company just sent me muted audio, or something happened on my end. No idea. Any suggestion?

I have an Nvdia card with TV out that i'd like to use instead of the TV out from the 350 card, but it looks like i can't get the OSD with menus all integrated nicely on the TV out unless i make the TV to be the primary display from the windows display properties, is there a trick?
I'd like to get TV out with TV and menus all together (with the visualizations and tv guide with the little preview window in it).

Thank you!

  How do I get Channel Logo's?
Posted by: bdgbill - 2006-05-11, 09:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have seen references in the forums regarding people having the channel logos appear on the TV guide. Is this done with a plug in? Which one?

Thanks

  HELP! GBPVR won't record anymore!
Posted by: sabrewulf165 - 2006-05-11, 09:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Everything appears to be working normally, but when I schedule a recording, nothing happens. The tray icon does not turn green, and status still indicates "sleeping."

The only thing I've changed recently is that I changed video card brands (from nVidia to ATI) but I don't know why that would cause this :confused:

  Internet Security Recommendations
Posted by: ArfurAnt - 2006-05-11, 08:47 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (22)

I am a long term user of Norton Internet Security but I am getting the renewal nag messages and considering alternatives. Norton is very resource hungry and I am sure it has been improved upon by other software.

I need a good firewall and virus scanner and probably some anti spyware as well for my PVR which I also use for general Internet use and is connected 24/7 to my broadband connection.

Any recommendations for some good security software that is secure, light on resources and not too expensive?

Cheers,

ArfurAnt

  Watching HD "stuff"
Posted by: psycik - 2006-05-11, 08:12 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I've been looking around at big tvs and are leaning towards an HD capable one. Not for HDTV which I'm not sure when that will become available over here, but other HD stuff, movie trailers etc, HD movies when they start getting a bit more popular, WMV HD etc.

Does anybody know what "bits" I'll need to make this go? And what sort of machine specs? I've tried some stuff, but found it quite laggy but I'm only on an Athlon 1800 Xp running to tv out on an MX440 video card.

Basically want an idea of if there are hardware decoding video cards? What "size" video card I should be running,and whether I need to get a faster CPU?

Cheers

  recommendation for DVBSHOP.net
Posted by: sub - 2006-05-11, 07:43 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (2)

I just wanted to give a quick recommendation for www.dvbshop.net. They're a great bunch of guys to deal with. They were very helpful resolving an issue I had with a recent order. They had good prompt communication, and DHL'd out the correct part to me at their own cost.

So if you're in need of any DVB related stuff, I definitely recommend you pay them a visit.

  EPG update
Posted by: marm - 2006-05-11, 07:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

For some reason my EPG will only update five days worth of data. I am using Zap2it for my EPG and it expires on 6/13. I changed the number of days for the epg but it does not make any differance. I had this problem one other time but on the next update it showed two weeks worth of data.

  PriorityRecording won't start
Posted by: jamest - 2006-05-11, 04:52 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

I am having a problem with the PriorityRecording exe crashing when run
When the xml looks like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<GBPVR d1p1:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\PriorityRecordings.xsd" xmlns:d1p1="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<Configuration>
<MissingRecordingPriority>0</MissingRecordingPriority>
<Conflicts>Delete</Conflicts>
<DuplicatesAllowed>Yes</DuplicatesAllowed>
</Configuration>
</GBPVR>
the program runs an exits fine. But as soon as I add any recording block it crashes :
Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 11/05/2006
Time: 17:40:59
User: N/A
Computer: MYTV1
Description:
Application popup: PriorityRecording.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services : Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0x468 (1128), Thread id=0xd1c (3356).

I even copied recording block from the example files like :
<Recording priority="1">
<Channel>4</Channel>
<ProgramName>Days of our Lives</ProgramName>
</Recording>

The log file does help much:
11/05/2006 17:40:59.635 VERBOSE [9] installDirectory is C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\

The PC is xpsp2, .net 1.1 and 2, msxml 6.0 parser, latest gbpvr and the cdkschedler sp1 is applied. Any ideas?

Thanks

James
